We loved our stay. Very quiet room which faced north so morning sun into balcony and beds. The TV screen was the largest I have ever experienced in a room. Room service meals were excellent and no detail spared. Huge white towels and roomy bathroom too. Even iron and ironing board there. We can’t wait to return.

We stayed for four nights over the Easter holiday in a panorama sea view room in the new tower. First of all, the location is excellent. The pool area has a sandy beach, and compared to the Hilton next door, the water was much clearer and very pleasant. The view is absolutely beautiful. However, when the tide goes out, it turns into what feels like a “panoramic mudflat view,” so I would recommend carefully considering the timing of your stay. On the other hand, there were several issues with the room. There is no balcony, and the windows cannot be opened. There were mosquitoes in the room, and I was bitten multiple times, which caused itching and swelling. The insect repellent device in the hallway was empty, which made me question the quality of housekeeping management. When I spoke to a female staff member at reception, I was told that only body spray repellent was available, and no further assistance was offered, so I had to purchase and install my own insect repellent. In addition, there was a sewage-like smell coming from the bathroom. The mirror and sink were not properly cleaned and appeared dirty. The room and hallway also had a moldy smell, and due to the humidity, the bed linens felt damp. The duvet was thin and not very comfortable. As I am sensitive to smells, these issues made me feel nauseous and unwell. Later, my husband spoke to a male staff member at reception. Although the hotel was fully booked and we were unable to change rooms, he responded with sincerity, apologized thoroughly, and instructed housekeeping to carry out a deep cleaning. When we returned from going out, the bathroom had been properly cleaned and the sewage smell was gone. The moldy smell in the room did not completely disappear, but it had been masked with deodorizer, and we were able to sleep well that night. However, the same issues returned the following day. As it was the Easter holiday and other hotels were fully booked, we had no choice but to stay until the end of our reservation. Afterward, I checked reviews and found many similar complaints about the moldy smell, which made me regret not researching more thoroughly beforehand. I had assumed that as a five-star hotel, it would be fine. Overall, the reception staff were kind, friendly, and professional. In particular, the male staff member who assisted us was excellent. On the other hand, I felt that the quality of housekeeping needs improvement. In my opinion, these issues are largely due to a design flaw—specifically, the building was designed with aesthetics prioritized over functionality by the construction company and architect, resulting in rooms where windows cannot be opened despite the humid tropical climate. The older tower, which has balconies and windows that can be opened, may not have the same problems. I would not recommend this hotel to those who are sensitive to smells, but for those who are not, it can still be a wonderful place to stay given its location and facilities.

Das Meriton Hotel besticht durch seine hervorragende Lage und voll ausgestattete Zimmer mit Herd, Kühlschrank, Backofen, Wäschetrockner und Waschmaschine – alles, was man für einen komfortablen Aufenthalt benötigt. Für 166 AUD bietet es angesichts der Ausstattung und der Lage ein ausgezeichnetes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Am meisten ärgert mich jedoch, dass das Hotel kein Bargeld akzeptiert und für jede Kreditkartenzahlung eine Transaktionsgebühr von 1,5 % erhebt – eine völlig unfaire Klausel. Ich hatte ausreichend Bargeld dabei, konnte es aber nicht verwenden und musste die Gebühren somit selbst tragen. Noch unverschämter ist die zusätzliche Gebühr von 20 AUD für Parkgebühren bei Kartenzahlung, was den Aufenthalt insgesamt sehr unangenehm machte. Obwohl die Ausstattung insgesamt lobenswert ist, sind die Preisgestaltung und der Service äußerst schlecht und unmenschlich.

Die Jacuzzi und Sauna am Marriott waren wirklich ausgezeichnet! Aber das Telefon im Zimmer funktionierte nicht, der Bad drain war gedrückt, und der Drain im Waschbecken war geschlossen. Auch war eine Verbindungstür zum nächsten Zimmer, so dass der Lärm der benachbarten Gäste extrem laut war und den Aufenthalt schwierig machte.

Very close to the Fortitue valley bar area. Pool is small on the roof top so it’s not heated. Generally quite good. Not exactly located at the central CBD.

Ich denke, das ist eines der besten Marriot Hotels, die ich geblieben habe. Es hat eine schöne Lagune und Einrichtungen und Dienstleistungen sind gut. Zwei Tram stoppt weg von Surfer Paradies. Aussicht ist vom Zimmer ist auch schön.

We booked The Langham on the Gold Coast for our honeymoon. It is a nice hotel but I can honestly say it is not worth the over $550 per night we paid. I’ve listed positives and negatives below: Positives: - there was a nice note and small chocolate slice in the room wishing us a lovely honeymoon - Staff are very friendly/welcoming - Ocean view was amazing from the hotel room - facilities - gymnasium was fully equipped with a view of the ocean/beach - Bathtub was lovely - Easy access to the beach Negatives: - There were stains on the sheets. When we arrived I noticed two stains in separate places on the sheets (note: they were dry stains). I went down to reception and they said they’d send housekeeping up to change the sheets. As advised, a woman arrived to change the sheets. Unfortunately, I didn’t check the new sheets and there were stains on those as well. I went back down to reception and they said they’d send a supervisor up again to look at the sheets. Two staff came to the room, apologised and changed the sheets again (this time I checked). The hotel gave us a bottle of wine, some lip balm and pillow spray which was a nice gesture as an apology, however, multiple stained sheets for what is meant to be a 5 star hotel is very disappointing. - The pre-authorisation amount (hold) when checking in is $200 a day, so $1,000 for a 5 night stay. This is ridiculously high. I don’t know why they hold that much considering most hotels, even 5 star hotels I’ve stayed in, hold $100-200 for a stay. On a positive note it did come back into my account straight away at check-out

Zunächst einmal ist es kleiner als das Riley. Normalerweise steigen die Preise in der Reihenfolge Bailey < Flynn < Riley, aber gestern kosteten die Zimmer im Riley und Flynn gleich viel. Ich hätte ins Riley gehen sollen. Es ist ein etwas ungewöhnliches Hotel mit einem jugendlichen Flair. Wenn möglich, fragen Sie nach einem Zimmer im Esplanade Tower. Ich war im Abbott Tower, aber die Aussicht ging auf das Nachbarhotel. Haha. Das Zimmer war unglaublich feucht, und wenn man die Klimaanlage auch nur kurz ausschaltete, roch es komisch. Bis nach 3 Uhr morgens war draußen laute Musik zu hören (obwohl ich im 4. Stock war). Ich war dort, um mich für einen Kurzurlaub zu entspannen, aber ich habe nicht vor, jemals wiederzukommen!

Ausstattung: Großzügig geschnitten, mit sauberem Swimmingpool. Lage: In der Nähe der Queen's Road, nur 10 Gehminuten entfernt. Service: Sehr freundlich; Zahnbürsten und Hausschuhe werden bereitgestellt. Gute Verkehrsanbindung mit dem Taxi.

Ich weiß nicht, ob sie kurzbesetzt oder nur spirituell gegen Konsistenz waren, aber die Reinigung war weniger „mit Sorgfalt aufrechtzuerhalten“ und mehr „waigere Anregung.“ Jeden Tag war eine neue Episode von Was werden sie diese Zeit vergessen? Handtücher? Vielleicht. Müllbänder? Wer weiß. Seife? Das ist offensichtlich nur ein Dienstags luxuriös. Einen Tag wurde das Bett gemacht, aber die Säucher und Spiegel waren offensichtlich nicht berührt. Einen anderen Tag, sie verließen ihre Reinigungsmittel im Badezimmerso zumindest einige Anstrengungen wurden getan, glaube ich? Der Duscheboden blieb ständig Sand, ein charmantes kleines Ökosystem von Antenn in unserem Küchenschrank aufgestellt, und das große Finale: Wir kamen von einem Tag zurück, um die erstaunliche Daintree zu erkunden, um unsere Zimmertür links breit geöffnet zu finden. Danke, Hauspflege. Das ist wirklich unvergesslich. Am fünften Tag war ich nicht einmal verrückt, ich wurde investiert. War diese Art der Leistung? Wurden wir Teil eines sozialen Experiments? Ist das, wie Minimalismus beginnt? Also ja, erstaunliches Hotel, fehlerfreie Front Desk, aber Hausaufbewahrung? Blinde sind in den Zimmern gehärtet und keine Scharen für die Tageszeit Privatsphäre. Würde ich zurückkommen? Vielleicht. Aber ich bring meine eigenen Handtücher. Und ein Muffin.
