The hotel is in a very convenient location, making it easy to travel around and access nearby attractions. The atmosphere is really pleasant and relaxing, perfect for a comfortable stay. The rooms and facilities are very clean and well maintained, which made me feel at ease throughout my visit. Overall, it was a great experience.

We stayed for four nights over the Easter holiday in a panorama sea view room in the new tower. First of all, the location is excellent. The pool area has a sandy beach, and compared to the Hilton next door, the water was much clearer and very pleasant. The view is absolutely beautiful. However, when the tide goes out, it turns into what feels like a “panoramic mudflat view,” so I would recommend carefully considering the timing of your stay. On the other hand, there were several issues with the room. There is no balcony, and the windows cannot be opened. There were mosquitoes in the room, and I was bitten multiple times, which caused itching and swelling. The insect repellent device in the hallway was empty, which made me question the quality of housekeeping management. When I spoke to a female staff member at reception, I was told that only body spray repellent was available, and no further assistance was offered, so I had to purchase and install my own insect repellent. In addition, there was a sewage-like smell coming from the bathroom. The mirror and sink were not properly cleaned and appeared dirty. The room and hallway also had a moldy smell, and due to the humidity, the bed linens felt damp. The duvet was thin and not very comfortable. As I am sensitive to smells, these issues made me feel nauseous and unwell. Later, my husband spoke to a male staff member at reception. Although the hotel was fully booked and we were unable to change rooms, he responded with sincerity, apologized thoroughly, and instructed housekeeping to carry out a deep cleaning. When we returned from going out, the bathroom had been properly cleaned and the sewage smell was gone. The moldy smell in the room did not completely disappear, but it had been masked with deodorizer, and we were able to sleep well that night. However, the same issues returned the following day. As it was the Easter holiday and other hotels were fully booked, we had no choice but to stay until the end of our reservation. Afterward, I checked reviews and found many similar complaints about the moldy smell, which made me regret not researching more thoroughly beforehand. I had assumed that as a five-star hotel, it would be fine. Overall, the reception staff were kind, friendly, and professional. In particular, the male staff member who assisted us was excellent. On the other hand, I felt that the quality of housekeeping needs improvement. In my opinion, these issues are largely due to a design flaw—specifically, the building was designed with aesthetics prioritized over functionality by the construction company and architect, resulting in rooms where windows cannot be opened despite the humid tropical climate. The older tower, which has balconies and windows that can be opened, may not have the same problems. I would not recommend this hotel to those who are sensitive to smells, but for those who are not, it can still be a wonderful place to stay given its location and facilities.

Das Meriton Hotel besticht durch seine hervorragende Lage und voll ausgestattete Zimmer mit Herd, Kühlschrank, Backofen, Wäschetrockner und Waschmaschine – alles, was man für einen komfortablen Aufenthalt benötigt. Für 166 AUD bietet es angesichts der Ausstattung und der Lage ein ausgezeichnetes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Am meisten ärgert mich jedoch, dass das Hotel kein Bargeld akzeptiert und für jede Kreditkartenzahlung eine Transaktionsgebühr von 1,5 % erhebt – eine völlig unfaire Klausel. Ich hatte ausreichend Bargeld dabei, konnte es aber nicht verwenden und musste die Gebühren somit selbst tragen. Noch unverschämter ist die zusätzliche Gebühr von 20 AUD für Parkgebühren bei Kartenzahlung, was den Aufenthalt insgesamt sehr unangenehm machte. Obwohl die Ausstattung insgesamt lobenswert ist, sind die Preisgestaltung und der Service äußerst schlecht und unmenschlich.

The concierge was extremely poor, drove in with my 7 seaters rented car, and staff simply ignored my existence - didn't even bother to come out to greet us nor offer any help with the luggage, even after telling him that I'll need help - zero awareness and zero service. The luggage trolley is simply an ornament. Excuse me, it's Marriott! Never in my life have i had to experience such an unwelcoming experience. However, the receptionist (wearing spec) was the only person who gave my family a warm welcome, likewise the staff at the buffet. 👍

Very close to the Fortitue valley bar area. Pool is small on the roof top so it’s not heated. Generally quite good. Not exactly located at the central CBD.

A totally perfect stay, from the moment of checking in to the day of returning home.  Nice room, nice people, nice restaurants… just everything so great!!

Room is very big and with a open kitchen. The room and facility is very new. The hotel staffs are also very friendly and responsive. The location is also very good and just next to the beach. There is also 5mins walk from the tram station. Overall I have a very nice and relaxing stay here, and I will visit the hotel again.

Vorteile: Gute Lage, direkt neben einem Nachtmarkt, sehr praktisch. Nachteile: Die Sauberkeit lässt sehr zu wünschen übrig; beim Betreten des Zimmers roch es muffig, was in tropischen Regionen aber noch akzeptabel ist. Unerträglich war jedoch, dass unsere Kissenbezüge schmutzig waren, was für ein Hotel dieser Kategorie absolut inakzeptabel ist. Ich habe das sofort nach dem Betreten des Zimmers überprüft, daher kann man davon ausgehen, dass die Bettwäsche nicht oft gewaschen wurde. Außerdem war das Zimmer sehr klein. Aber insgesamt gab es nicht viele Alternativen. Es ist ein ordentliches Hotel in Cairns, und die Einrichtung ist moderner als in anderen Hotels. Es ist in Ordnung. Reisenden aus China nach Australien würde es den Aufenthalt etwas angenehmer machen, wenn sie ihre eigenen Einweg-Kissenbezüge und Bettbezüge mitbringen würden.

Dieses Hotel hat meine Erwartungen wirklich übertroffen! Die Lobby war prachtvoll und elegant, die Zimmer geräumig und hell mit bodentiefen Fenstern und atemberaubender Aussicht, und die Betten waren weich und bequem – ich habe wunderbar geschlafen und bin von selbst aufgewacht. Das Badezimmer hatte eine separate Dusche und Toilette, und die Pflegeprodukte stammten alle von hochwertigen Marken. Das Personal war freundlich und aufmerksam, half proaktiv mit dem Gepäck und empfahl Restaurants in der Nähe. Das Frühstück bot eine große Auswahl mit einem raffinierten chinesischen und westlichen Buffet. Fitnessraum und Pool waren neu, ruhig und nicht überfüllt. Die Lage war ebenfalls sehr praktisch, nur wenige Gehminuten von Einkaufsstraßen und der U-Bahn-Station entfernt. Ausgezeichnetes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis – absolut empfehlenswert!

Lassen Sie mich zunächst sagen Dieser Ort sieht aus wie ein Fünf-Sterne-Resort, und ehrlich gesagt, es zieht es fast aus. Von der Frontdesk bis zur Landschaft, sind die Vibes unschädlich. Rezeption Mitarbeiter? Absolut pros. Warm, effizient und willkommen. Das Hotel selbst? Schön. Die Grundstücke? Pristine. Es kann nicht unerwähnt gehen, dass der Ort sicherlich wunderschön ist! Aber dann... Hausaufgaben gingen in die Chat. Ich weiß nicht, ob sie kurzbesetzt oder nur spirituell gegen Konsistenz waren, aber die Reinigung war weniger „mit Sorgfalt aufrechtzuerhalten“ und mehr „waigere Anregung.“ Jeden Tag war eine neue Episode von Was werden sie diese Zeit vergessen? Handtücher? Vielleicht. Müllbänder? Wer weiß. Seife? Das ist offensichtlich nur ein Dienstags luxuriös. Einen Tag wurde das Bett gemacht, aber die Säucher und Spiegel waren offensichtlich nicht berührt. Einen anderen Tag, sie verließen ihre Reinigungsmittel im Badezimmerso zumindest einige Anstrengungen wurden getan, glaube ich? Der Duscheboden blieb ständig Sand, ein charmantes kleines Ökosystem von Antenn in unserem Küchenschrank aufgestellt, und das große Finale: Wir kamen von einem Tag zurück, um die erstaunliche Daintree zu erkunden, um unsere Zimmertür links breit geöffnet zu finden. Danke, Hauspflege. Das ist wirklich unvergesslich. Am fünften Tag war ich nicht einmal verrückt, ich wurde investiert. War diese Art der Leistung? Wurden wir Teil eines sozialen Experiments? Ist das, wie Minimalismus beginnt? Also ja, erstaunliches Hotel, fehlerfreie Front Desk, aber Hausaufbewahrung? Blinde sind in den Zimmern gehärtet und keine Scharen für die Tageszeit Privatsphäre. Würde ich zurückkommen? Vielleicht. Aber ich bring meine eigenen Handtücher. Und ein Muffin.
