The hotel has provided the facilities as committed in their booking-page in the acceptable condition to their customer, i.e. me. Despite it is a budget hotel only and the overall appearance is slightly vintage :D, the room, the bed/mattress/blanket, bathroom, showering water heater, etc. are still clean and in acceptable condition. Besides, if communicated/spoken to the hotel, it has self check-in option for the check-in after business operation hour, i.e. mid night. Travelers can acquire the room key/card by themselves from a locker with a provided pin code. These enable me to have a good rest after making an urgent booking in night time, travel over 100km then reach the hotel at 1.30 a.m. mid night. The attached photos show the self check-in/out facility, public drinking-water-dispenser and fire extinguisher. Although I can't expect much from a budget, I would like to suggest that the air-con in the room to have service/maintenance so that it won't produce much noise. By the way, the noise only distract us slightly from having rest. After all, based on the offered/discounted price, the room is satisfactory and recommended.

Das ist mein zweiter Aufenthalt hier, ich mag das Zimmer war sauber, Bett komfortabel und vor allem der Strompunkt ist neben dem Bett. Die Lage ist gut, es gibt zwei Kaffeehäuser mit chinesischen Lebensmitteln, die von frühen Morgens bis 2.00 Uhr geöffnet. Am Abend gibt es einen muslimischen Kaffeegeschäft nur 3 Türen entfernt. Es gibt auch zwei Komfort-Outlets. Die Komfort ist ein Pluspunkt, bis Jonker Street ist 10 Minuten zu Fuß. Das Hotel bietet auch Frühstück. Ich werde hier sicherlich wieder auf meiner nächsten Reise bleiben.

This budget hotel sometimes offers great last-minute deals. The accommodation was clean and comfortable, with a cozy atmosphere. There are two fast-food restaurants, a 99 Speedmart, and a self-service laundry just around the corner, making it very convenient. Highly recommended for budget travelers!

Dieses Hotel bietet ein unschlagbares Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis! ~ Größe: Das Zimmer ist unglaublich groß: zwei Schlafzimmer, zwei Badezimmer, ein Wohnzimmer mit Sofa (das als Bett genutzt werden kann), Esstisch, Induktionskochfeld, Kühlschrank und Spüle! ~ Ausstattung: Abgesehen von Hausschuhen, kleinen Handtüchern und Einwegkämmen ist alles vorhanden! Die Ausstattung ist super modern und neu! ~ Sauberkeit: Blitzsauber! ~ Service: Wir kamen nach Mitternacht an, die Rezeption war nicht mehr besetzt. Der Sicherheitsdienst nahm die Kaution von 150 MYR entgegen. Morgens versuchten wir, ein Grab-Taxi zum Drehturm zu bekommen, aber zweimal klappte es nicht. Schließlich bat ich die Rezeption, ein Taxi zu rufen. Als wir abends unser Gepäck abholten, traf ich einen Fahrer, der kein Englisch sprach, und die Rezeption half bei der Übersetzung. Kurz gesagt, diese Suite ist super groß und super nett! Ein wirklich ausgezeichnetes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis!

I had a really good stay at Discovery Youth Hostel, Melaka. The location is honestly perfect — right in the old town, walking distance to Jonker Street, cafes, night markets, and all the main attractions. The place is simple, clean, and comfortable, exactly what you expect from a good hostel. For the price, it’s totally worth it. The vibe is chill, good for solo travelers and backpackers, and it’s easy to meet people. If you’re looking for a budget-friendly stay in a great location in Melaka, this is a solid choice. Would definitely stay here again.

This hotel offers good value for money, with affordable rates and basic yet acceptable cleanliness. While the location is not very ideal and the area tends to be quiet at night, it may be inconvenient for guests without their own transport. Additionally, there is no staff on duty after 7 PM, which could be a concern for late check-ins or assistance.

Nice budget hotel. Sure, there was no TV, wifi was splotchy due to upgrading works, an occasional mosquito that probably flew in from outside. Otherwise, cannot beat the service - very nice friendly staff - always ready to help, can store luggage for short period before check in and after check out, clean space, comfy bed, aircon was great, toiletries smell nice, powerful rainshower and gorpeous toilet bowl with all the electric works. Also, location, location, location. Appreciate being able to pop in and out to escape the heat and rest between visits to attractions. Great food stores, 24hr convenience stores and atmospheric cafes nearby. Despite being so close to Jonker street weekend night market, it was pretty quiet, allowing for good sleep. Definitely coming back on next trip to Malacca.

Our check-in experience was a bit stressful. We arrived at 17:00 and the door was locked. When a staff member arrived later, they weren’t able to check us in immediately and kept calling someone without explaining what was happening. It would be helpful if someone were always available during check-in times to welcome guests. The first room we were given had a lot of mold on the walls, and the shared bathrooms and showers were very dirty. They were not cleaned during our three-day stay. However, we want to highlight the professionalism of Navira, who quickly came to assist us. She was polite, kind and genuinely willing to provide excellent service. When we requested a room change due to the mold, she immediately arranged a better room for us. This completely turned our first impression of the hostel around. The new room was spacious, clean and comfortable, with both a fan and air conditioner. We truly appreciate Navira’s help and friendliness, which made our stay much more enjoyable.

За столь смешные деньги расположение в самом центре старого города, возле всех основных достопримечательностей. Придраться могу, разве что к отсутствию стульчака и пододеяльника под плед

I ate at the local market , the reception were laid back if not attentive , o more than one expects from a budget hotel , fairly quiet , good air con and serviceable toilet and shower . Good value.
