For our stay, we booked a studio apartment at The Sweet. The room was lovely and kitchenette was well-equipped. We were able to cook meals there over the days of Christmas when most restaurants and shops were closed. The location is a little outside of the center- nice and quiet but easy to access public transit. My biggest issue with this hotel was that communication was very… odd. As the booking notes, I called the hotel in advance to schedule my check-in. When my call was answered, I told them who I was and that I was calling to schedule my check in (for a time when the booking said check in is available). I was told no one would be at reception at that time (3pm on Dec 23) and they would text me instructions for how to check myself in. Then she confirmed my phone number and asked for my email address, but when I started to give it, she said, “oh, that’s ok. We can’t use email anyway”. Odd. Before getting off the phone, I had her confirm that I would receive a text the next day with instructions to check in. Our train arrived around 2pm in Oslo and we still hadn’t received a text, so we waited at the train station thinking perhaps they would send the text right at 3pm since that was the time I had requested. At 3, I still hadn’t received anything, so we called the hotel again. A different employee answered from the one I had spoken to the day before. I gave my name and explained that I was calling because I had scheduled check in the day before but hadn’t received the information to check in. The employee asked where I was and told me that there were people staffing reception to help us check in, which I thought was odd because the previous employee told me no one would be there. When we got to the hotel, we rang the bell and got into the building, but reception is apparently in the basement- there is only a very tiny sign that says this- so we missed it and I called them again. A man came up with our keys and got us set to go. We got into our room and it was lovely! About 5 hours later, I got a call from Trip saying that the hotel is trying to contact me because they are wondering why I hadn’t checked in and they don’t have a way to get in touch with me. I was sitting in the hotel room when I got this call. I told the Trip representative that I was checked in and it was fine for her to give my phone and email to the hotel. I know the communication elements have taken up a huge portion of my review and I know they are not the end of the world, but I want to share them because I believe it would be quite simple to avoid situations like this in the future and make the guest experience that much more pleasant at The Sweet. We greatly enjoyed our stay at the hotel overall and thoroughly enjoyed exploring Oslo!

Location is convenient, about 10 mins walk from Oslo S. although it is in the direction nearer to the office buildings and away from the attractions. Breakfast spread is amazing and tastes good. Room and bathroom are spacious, bed is soft and comfortable. The only drawback is the amenities. There is no toothbrush provided, and I find the shampoo, conditioner, and hand wash a little too mild / diluted, would have preferred it to be thicker and foamier. Body soap is ok.

Mein Aufenthalt im Scandic Holmekollen war wirklich wunderbar. Das Hotel bietet eine entspannte Atmosphäre und einen atemberaubenden Blick auf die Umgebung. Das Personal war unglaublich freundlich und aufmerksam und immer mit einem warmen Lächeln zur Stelle. Die Kombination aus der ruhigen Atmosphäre und der Hilfsbereitschaft des Personals machte meinen Aufenthalt wirklich angenehm. Ich kann das Scandic Holmekollen jedem wärmstens empfehlen, der einen ruhigen Rückzugsort mit atemberaubender Aussicht und außergewöhnlichem Service sucht.

Highly recommended. The hotel is part of an old post office, located right behind a bus stop, 100m from a tram stop and 500m from Oslo Central Station. There are restaurants just downstairs or nearby. The room is large enough and well-equipped, with a washing machine, a big drying rack, a microwave and all utensils. There is a public room for (self-service, super convenient, pretty large space) luggage storage facilities and all the necessites (tea packs, towels, linens, and ear plugs etc., though it is quiet at night) Everything is done on app, including check-in/out and opening the doors. However, the door-opening function in the app doesn't work sometimes so you have to use code instead (there's no reception). Also, you have to go through some stairs at entrance and a winding passage to reach your room. The room is a little bit dark at night (even with all the lights on) for reading and writing. The TV is located in a weird position.

Ich habe meinen Aufenthalt im Radisson Blu in Oslo sehr genossen. Das Hotel ist wirklich ausgezeichnet: Die Aussicht ist beeindruckend und macht den Aufenthalt besonders. Die Betten sind unglaublich bequem – selten habe ich in einem Hotel so gut geschlafen. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist vielfältig, frisch und sehr hochwertig – absolut empfehlenswert. Ein kleiner Verbesserungsvorschlag: Wenn man den Kühlschrank im Zimmer ausräumen lässt, um eigene Getränke zu kühlen, wird hierfür eine Gebühr von 250 Kronen berechnet. Diese Information wäre im Vorfeld hilfreich gewesen, da sie bei uns erst beim Check-out auf der Rechnung erschien. Fazit: Ein rundum sensationelles Hotel mit höchstem Komfort und hervorragendem Service. Mit einer etwas transparenteren Kommunikation bei Zusatzkosten wäre der Aufenthalt absolut perfekt gewesen.

Großes Boutique-Hotel! Leider öffnet sich das Frühstück nur um 8 Uhr am Wochenende, so dass wir es wegen eines frühen Fluges verpasst haben, aber sie haben es mit einem Frühstück zu gehen gemacht, als wir auscheckten!

„Ein absolut fantastisches Erlebnis! Das Hotel hat mit seinem außergewöhnlichen Service, den makellosen Zimmern und den erstklassigen Annehmlichkeiten all unsere Erwartungen übertroffen. Jedes Detail wurde sorgfältig durchdacht, um einen komfortablen und unvergesslichen Aufenthalt zu gewährleisten. Das Personal war unglaublich freundlich und hat alles getan, damit wir uns wie zu Hause fühlen. Perfekte 5/5 – wir können es kaum erwarten, wiederzukommen!“

Ausstattung: Frühstück und Abendessen inklusive – einfach perfekt! Die Preise in Norwegen sind relativ hoch, daher ist ein Buffet im Hotel ein absolutes Muss! Sie werden nicht nur satt, sondern ernähren sich auch gesund. Die Schalldämmung ist mittelmäßig; morgens hört man den Wecker im Nebenzimmer, aber auf Reisen braucht man ja nicht unbedingt auszuschlafen. Nachts ist es sehr ruhig. Das Restaurantpersonal ist sehr freundlich und begrüßt Sie mit „Guten Morgen“ und wünscht Ihnen eine angenehme Reise. Gäste können ihr Gepäck kostenlos aufbewahren. Lage: 8 Gehminuten vom Osloer Hauptbahnhof und 10 Gehminuten von der Osloer Oper entfernt. Oslo selbst ist jedoch nicht sehr groß; vom Hauptbahnhof aus sind die meisten Orte innerhalb von 30 Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar. Der entscheidende Vorteil ist, dass sich das Hotel bereits im Herzen von Oslo befindet und die Straßen nach 20 Uhr praktisch menschenleer sind. Ich werde auf jeden Fall wieder hier übernachten, wenn ich das nächste Mal in Oslo bin!

Als ich dieses Hotel buchte, las ich die Bewertungen aller, die äußerst extrem waren. Es gibt gute und schlechte Bewertungen! Erst als ich eincheckte, verstand ich warum. Wir hatten während der gesamten Reise Standardzimmer gebucht, blieben aber in zwei Zeitabschnitten. Das erste Mal kamen wir am Sonntag gegen 9 Uhr an. Ursprünglich dachten wir, wir könnten nicht früher einchecken, aber wir hatten nicht erwartet, dass nach einem langen Flug alle 4 Zimmer verfügbar waren. Bei meinem diesmal zweitägigen Aufenthalt war das Zimmer recht groß und sogar mit einer Kaffeemaschine ausgestattet! Abgesehen von ein paar schmutzigen Tassen und unzureichender Heizung gab es keine Probleme! Aber als wir zum zweiten Mal eincheckten, war das Zimmer, das wir bekamen, kleiner und es gab keine Kaffeemaschine, aber es machte nichts, wenn wir nur eine Nacht blieben! Das einzige Problem ist, dass der Duschkopf im Duschraum nicht sehr gut ist und das Wasser sehr langsam fließt und sich leicht Wasser ansammelt! Es gibt immer noch keine Heizung ~ Außerdem ist die Lage des Hotels wirklich gut, es grenzt an die U-Bahn-Linie 4.5! Daneben befindet sich ein Genossenschafts-Supermarkt, der bis 23:00 Uhr geöffnet ist.
