Das Hotel liegt zentral und gut erreichbar in einer Gegend mit vielen Geschäften und Verkehrsanbindungen. Um mehr Touristen anzulocken, wären häufigere Instandhaltungsarbeiten wünschenswert. Der Service des Personals ist ausgezeichnet; die Mitarbeiter sind sehr aufmerksam und hilfsbereit – ein absolutes Plus. Die Zimmer sind mit allem Nötigen für einen Aufenthalt ausgestattet: Bett, Dusche, Kühlschrank, Fernseher, Handtuch, Seife, Toilettenpapier, Kleiderschrank, Stuhl, Tisch, Decke, Vorhang, Föhn, Telefon, Wasserkocher und Lampen. Es gibt kein hoteleigenes Restaurant, aber man kann ein Frühstück mit den wichtigsten Speisen bestellen. Die Zimmer werden täglich gereinigt. WLAN ist im Hotel verfügbar, die Verbindung ist jedoch schwach und instabil. Verbesserungswürdig ist der Zustand der Möbel und Gemeinschaftsgegenstände. Diese sollten regelmäßig auf Beschädigungen, Risse oder Abnutzung überprüft werden. Auch eine regelmäßige Schädlingsbekämpfung ist notwendig. Betten und Matratzen sollten in gutem Zustand sein und nicht durchhängen, und die Fenster sollten gut abgedichtet sein, um Licht, Lärm und Zugluft abzuhalten. Trinkwasser muss separat erworben werden. Es handelt sich um ein Drei-Sterne-Hotel mit Verbesserungspotenzial, das jedoch Investitionen benötigt.

Sehr gute Lage. Mit guten Sehenswürdigkeiten und sogar Märkten für Lebensmittel, die in der Küche des Zimmers verwendet werden konnten. Wir waren nur durch die fehlende Küchenausstattung verwirrt, aber wir haben einen Weg gefunden. Gutes Frühstück und sehr informatives und freundliches Personal. Sehr empfehlenswert.

We booked a triple room 3 beds last min with late bird price. However they gave us double room 2 beds. It's on the 1st floor just next to tennis court which is quite noisy. It's 31 degree F, no air conditioner. Only 1 tiny window can be opened for fresh air but its facing a foot path with many guests access to the indoor pool, gym...etc. Not enough privacy. Location is ok as many small supermarkets, restaurants and bus stops near by within walking distance. Hotel facilities are good for the price.

We were pleasantly surprised by our stay at the Valley View Hotel Encumeada and honestly would have preferred spending more days here over some of the other hotels we stayed at on the island. The front desk staff were incredibly accommodating and available around the clock, always ready to help with anything we needed. While the rooms are a bit outdated, they had everything we needed — a spacious bathroom, comfortable beds, and a charming balcony to relax on. The property also offers plenty of parking and is in an ideal location, very central to many of the island’s most popular hikes. The breakfast was average; it was the same offering each day and much of it would be gone early thanks to the hikers, but the coffee machine was great and always hit the spot. Overall, we would definitely recommend adding extra days at this hotel to your itinerary — you won’t regret it. One last detail worth mentioning is how clean the room was, something my girlfriend specifically appreciated. My only small criticism would be the pillows — each side only had one small, fairly uncomfortable pillow, so that could definitely be improved.

Der Speisesaal – ich war zum Frühstück dort – ist alt und nicht sehr einladend. Die Frühstücksauswahl ist nicht so gut, als Veganer oder Vegetarier hat man nicht viel Auswahl (nur Bohnen und Brot), der Kaffee ist okay, aber nicht lecker, die Säfte sind nicht frisch und zuckerhaltig. Es gibt keinen großen Topf zum Kochen, für zwei Personen wäre einer gut. Das Bett ist gut, der Ventilator funktioniert, das Badezimmer ist groß genug, der Balkon praktisch. Die Lage ist in der Nähe einer Buslinie, 30 Minuten zu Fuß ins Zentrum und es gibt die Lido-Promenade (mit einigen Badestellen) zur nächsten Kleinstadt mit einem kleinen Lichttunnel für Fußgänger, dort kann man die Brandung hören/sehen :) Die Öffnungszeiten des Pools sind morgens zu spät und zu kurz (8.00-20.00 Uhr). Die Mitarbeiterin an der Rezeption mit der Brille (Samstagabend) hat meinen Weckruf für den nächsten Morgen nicht geschafft (der Mitarbeiter an diesem Tag zeigte mir, dass er keine Benachrichtigung für einen Weckruf hatte), das ist nicht gut, denn manchmal muss man sich darauf verlassen.

The hotel is beautiful and super homey, you can get to the city centre really easily as there is like 3 different buses and one that is less than a 3 minute walk away from the hotel, the staff are kind and friendly, we initially got given a room right next to the entrance, due to the really thin walls it was unfortunately really loud, but the staff moved us to a much better room with no problem at all, the rooms aren’t super clean as there was some hair left after cleaning and a bag of medicine another guest had left, but it’s an amazing hotel and I’ll be staying here again next time I visit. The pool is not usable (extremely dirty) and the breakfast and coffee are way too much for what you get.

Die Lage ist sehr gut, neben Naturschwimmbad, das Frühstück gibt es im Schwesterhotel daneben und die Aussicht vom rooftop restaurant ist sehr gut. Wir können auch Sauna und Schwimmbad in alle drei Hotels benutzen. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hat uns ein zufriedenstellendes Zimmer besorgt. Zu Weihnachten haben wir auch Geschenke bekommen.

A lovely Hotel, with a high level of service and a great restaurant an amenities. The location is only good for those willing to taxi or drive to Funchal- otherwise it is a 30-35minite walk, allow more time for the way back all uphill. The decor of the rooms is dated- very 1990s in style, the carpet is wearing thin in places. The pool side area is nice but could benefit from a modernization to make the decor match the level of service. Can't fault the stay otherwise. Shout out to Sandra, the Maitre 'd, D for her amazing level of service. Obregado!

Große Lage, schöne Größe und allgemeine Zimmer/Ausstattung Qualität. Nur ein störender oder ziemlich negativer Punkt zu beachten wäre die begrenzte h des Rezeptionstischs. Einige von uns kamen am Abend an und obwohl es angezeigt wurde, dass wir mit der Check-in-Details kontaktiert werden, wir standen bei der Ankunft vor einem geschlossenen Eingang und mussten die dort angegebene Nummer anrufen. Eine Person kam etwa 30 Minuten später nur um die Prüfung im Prozess zu machen. Das gleiche mit der Prüfung, da der Haushalter aus einem anderen Hotel kam, um uns die Tür zu öffnen.

The hotel was in the heart of the city, great location and close to main attractions. Easy to get to from the airport using n9 bus for €6. The room was cleaned daily and towels were also changed daily. The staff were friendly and happy to help when needed. For a 3star hotel, this hotel has great value for money due to its location, and service. The breakfast was decent and the pool had a great view. The room had a balcony with a beautiful view.
