We are a family of four—two Japanese children and two adults (half Japanese, half American). We’ve lived in Japan for 25 years and have stayed in many ryokan across the country. We’re happy to pay a premium if the experience is worth it, but unfortunately, this ryokan did not meet expectations. The public bath is in need of renovation, the food was very ordinary, and there were storage boxes placed around the restaurant during dinner, which took away from the atmosphere. Staff are nice.

I think it is unfair that this hotel has a low score on Trip.com. The reason I say this is because people were either looking for a “cheap hotel” in Hiroshima and were surprised by how far it is from Hiroshima Station and the city center, or they assumed the hotel was located on Miyajima Island. Since there are only five reviews on Trip.com as I am writing this, I want to make clear who this hotel is suitable for and who it is not. This hotel is perfect for people who want to stay as close as possible to the Miyajima ferry and spend just one night before heading to the island the next morning. You can reach the ferry either by walking (around 30 minutes) or by taking the local tram (around a 10–15 minute ride). This hotel is not a good fit if you want to stay in Hiroshima and explore the city. It is not close to Hiroshima Station, the city center, or any sightseeing spots. The area around the hotel also offers nothing, there were no restaurants or convenience stores nearby, so take that into account. However, if your plan is to stay one night and go to Miyajima Island as early as possible the next morning, and you are traveling with limited luggage (do not bring large suitcases or any heavy luggage), then this hotel is a good choice. We had our main luggage sent to our hotel next to Hiroshima Station and only carried a small 5 kg carry-on with clothes for the next day. The walk from the nearest metro station to the hotel was about 10–15 minutes, and it was not as difficult as some reviews made it sound. Just use Google Maps and you will be fine. About the hotel itself, because of what we read, we expected nothing, but we were pleasantly surprised. The check-in process, done by machine, was instant and smooth with no issues at all. Sometimes I really wonder what people are doing when I read their experiences. The room itself was more than fine. You have all the amenities you need, the room was spacious enough for two people with luggage, the bed was big enough for us, the hotel was clean, and overall it felt like a good hotel. I was even surprised that the hotel had a laundry room.

The location of this hotel is excellent. It’s right next to Peace Memorial Park, directly behind the museum, in a quiet and pleasant area. It’s about a 3–5 minute walk from the tram stop and around 5 minutes to the main shopping street. If you get this hotel at a good price and only plan a short stay focused on the Peace Park, the location is definitely a plus. The room itself, however, was extremely small. Seating was uncomfortable — only a small stool with no back, and in my case the screws were sticking out, making it unsafe and unpleasant to use. You are basically either on the bed or out of the room. The biggest issue was severe condensation and dampness. The room had extreme moisture problems — water running down the walls and windows, and the bed and floor becoming damp overnight. I woke up with wet feet and later realised why. This is not normal condensation; it was excessive and clearly an ongoing issue. I raised this with the front desk when checking out, but it was brushed off. After contacting Trip.com with photos and videos, the hotel refused responsibility once I had checked out. Trip.com eventually offered partial compensation, but the hotel itself showed no accountability. Because of this, I would not stay here again. I am not overly picky with hotels, but a damp room that can make guests sick is unacceptable. Also, I do not recommend the breakfast. You receive a very small bento box with unclear contents and a bottled tea. For the price, you are far better off going to a nearby convenience store like Lawson. Overall: great location, but poor room conditions and lack of responsibility from the hotel. There are better options in this area.

Dieses Hotel ist nur wenige Minuten fußläufig vom Bahnhof und dem Friedensmuseum entfernt. Der Empfang ist sehr freundlich und bemüht sich sehr auch in englisch zu unterstützen. Absolut sauber und komfortabel. Das Frühstück ist sehr reichhaltig und frisch zubereitet. Als Reisende hat man hier alles was man benötigt. Wäscheservice, Waschsalon. Auf zwei Etagen Extra Mikrowelle und Getränkeautomaten. Es ist sehr zentral, aber die Zimmer sind sehr leise. Ich werde sehr gern wiederkommen.

Okay, diese Unterkunft ist schwer zu bewerten. Das Zimmer bietet einen traumhaften Meerblick. Deshalb habe ich mich für dieses Hotel entschieden. Es liegt allerdings sehr abgelegen. Wenn Sie also kein Auto haben, müssen Sie vom Bahnhof aus gut 2 km zu Fuß eine Straße entlanglaufen. Es gibt dort nichts zu essen. Das Hotelkonzept ist eher auf Übernachtung, Schlafen und Weiterreisen ausgelegt. Noch einmal: Wenn Sie kein Auto haben, werden Sie die 2 km nicht zurücklaufen, um etwas zu essen zu finden. Man schläft auf dem Boden. Das ist keine Überraschung, und ich habe besonders gut geschlafen, also keine Beschwerden. Seien Sie sich dessen nur bewusst. Toilette und Bad werden gemeinschaftlich genutzt. Die Zimmer sind alt, aber in Ordnung, und es war eines der größten Zimmer, die ich auf dieser Reise hatte. Die Möbel sind ebenfalls alt. Man fühlt sich vielleicht eine Weile wie bei Oma. Das Gebäude, wahrscheinlich aus den 70er Jahren, ist nicht schallisoliert. Sie könnten den Schlaf Ihres Nachbarn miterleben. So wie ich. Ich hatte für zwei Personen gebucht. Wahrscheinlich, weil Trip keine andere Option anbot oder weil es die günstigste war, ich bin mir nicht sicher. Die Dame am Eingang ließ mich deshalb 15 Minuten warten, was darauf hindeutete, dass es ihr peinlich war, mir die Schlüssel für das bereits bezahlte Zimmer zu geben. Dieser Moment war, gelinde gesagt, unangenehm. Die abgelegene Lage, der Möbelstil, die etwas altmodische Atmosphäre, die alte Zimmertür, die noch einen Schlüssel benötigt, und dieses leichte Quietschen … das mag nicht jedem gefallen. Es hat aber auch seinen charmant-gruseligen Charakter. Nicht unbedingt ein Hotel für jedermann. Aber verdammt, die Aussicht am Morgen … einfach herrlich.

Obwohl es weit vom Bahnhof entfernt ist, können Sie Restaurants zu Fuß erreichen, als ob Sie nur einen Spaziergang machen würden, und es gab einen Münzparkplatz in der Nähe, wo Sie für etwa 600 Yen einen Tag lang parken konnten, also war es ein gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis.

Das Zimmer ist wirklich sehr groß und sehr neuartig gestaltet. Beim Betreten ist man sehr überrascht. Die Innenausstattung umfasst eine Waschmaschine, einen Herd, eine Mikrowelle und einen Toaster für Familien, die gerne kochen. Erwähnenswert ist, dass Waschmittel und Reinigungsmittel sehr zuvorkommend nachgefüllt werden. Etwas sorgfältigere Reinigung würde das Ergebnis noch perfekter machen. In der Nähe gibt es viele Parkplätze zu sehr günstigen Preisen, die auch für Selbstfahrer geeignet sind. Das Hotel liegt in einer relativ ruhigen Gegend, weniger als drei Gehminuten von einem belebten Viertel entfernt, also ist die Lage wirklich großartig. Ich werde dieses Hotel wieder wählen, wenn ich wieder nach Hiroshima komme.

Ein schönes Hotel auf der Insel Miyajima, in der Nähe des Bahnhofs und der Sehenswürdigkeiten. Der Service war ausgezeichnet, und die Angestellten waren freundlich und aufmerksam. Die Zimmer mit Meerblick waren allerdings nicht wirklich empfehlenswert, da die Nachmittagssonne sehr intensiv war und man die Fenster schließen und die Vorhänge zuziehen musste.

Das Hostel ist sauber und gemütlich, großes Essensgebiet, wo Sie jederzeit kühlen können. Die Lage ist ziemlich gut, der Friedenspark ist wirklich nahe dem Hotel. Ich mag Hiroshima und das Aufenthalt im Gasthaus war komfortabel
