The location is great, just a ten min walk from the beach, or a five min walk to get a ten min bus to Boscombe or Bournemouth (although these only go every half hour, seem to always be late and stop running by 6.30pm so plan carefully, or take a stress free taxi ride instead - just £6 to Boscombe).  The hotel is clean and tidy, but the reception staff I met were sullen and unhappy to help, the beds we had were awful (feel every spring, I padded it with two quilts to be able to sleep, luckily it was very hot so we didn’t need them) and unfortunately our window was broken so I couldn’t shut the noise of people entering/leaving the hotel directly below the window out. However, the man sent to try to fix the window was extremely polite and helpful, and respectful of my request to be really quiet and softly spoken around my autistic son who was trying to get to sleep. And he fixed the window.  Luckily we were only staying for one night, so despite the painful bed, I would come back for another cheap, brief stay.

I was originally allocated a signature family room on the second, room 213 but when I entered the room the beds were unmade and there were lots of dirty towels in the bathtub, this was at 16:30 and all the chambermaids had gone home ! I immediately informed the hotel staff and was allocated a smaller double room on the third floor, room 308, which had a great sea view, but was very hot and the water pressure in the bathtub and the shower was next to nothing, as it driped out slowly ! Not to mention the loud banging doors ! I had to keep the fan on all the time otherwise I could of fainted ! Be careful when booking with this hotel, but still good value for money !

Double sea view room with balcony. Spacious bedroom with nice seating area. Clean and in good decorative order. Comfy bed, quality linen. Wonderful, original metal-framed window and French door opening out onto huge balcony. Unfortunately, the sea view tuned out to be when looking left from the end of the balcony and not from the actual bedroom. Kettle needed descaling. Bathroom well appointed, nice towels and quality Elemis toiletries, but would benefit from a really thorough deep clean and a lick of paint. Absolutely fabulous public rooms, not ‘dated’, as some reviews suggest, but furniture and fixtures appropriately in keeping with the style and period of the building. Wonderful! Beautiful outdoor pool area and indoor spa. Lots of outdoor seating areas. Extensive woodland to the rear of the hotel. Just a few minutes walk to Knoll Beach, through the hotel’s extensive grounds (which includes tennis courts and a golf course) just over the road. Absolutely no information provided about any of these brilliant amenities, or indeed anything at all, in our bedroom. Also, no information about Wi-Fi, no information about breakfast times, no information about how to even contact Reception on the telephone provided in the room … The food at the evening meal was exceptional but was let down by the very slow service as staff focused on setting tables for the following day’s breakfast - which turned out to be so disappointing that it was hard to believe that both meals had originated from the same kitchen.

I had read the reviews so I was not expecting much. All the staff appear to work really hard. Unfortunately, the hotel itself is really grubby and in much need of new carpets, redecoration and maintenance. (Sorry you maintenance guys, it might be a case of not enough hours in a day). Its NOT good enough to say ”there is only one pump” when no water comes out of the shower and then its brown for several minutes! I believe the pool is a new addition but why let the weeds grow up around it? The room was disappointing, my clothes hangers kept falling out of the holes and my clothes were then laying in the bottom of the wardrobe. I requested some hangers from reception, but no hangers existed? It was recommended that I book a table for dinner, I opted for 7pm and the steak. Forty minutes later it was still being chased up! Chatting around the pool it appears two people can stay for £80 per night but I was charged £133 with breakfast. Breakfast was buffet style and barely warm. I visited the hotels in the group and they are by far better. I will not recommend this hotel or stay again!

Reception and breakfast staff were excellent. Our family room (Ken dodd) was very big and comfortable. We also enjoyed the english breakfast each morning and loved the convenient location close to major attractions. 3 star celebrity theme hotel is a little bit outdated but maintained very nicely, clean, and will definitely recommend and visit again.

We just wanted a reliable, welcoming, safe and CLEAN base for one night at a fantastic price and we got exactly that here at Laguna. It was no- frills, eg no fridge in room ,or edgy decor and no bonus toiletries ...but that is exactly what we didn't need! It was a basic but spotlessly clean room with all the essentials you need for a good night's stay; 2 freshly made beds, an unsuite with hot shower, towels and flannels for 2, a tv with remote, WiFi, tea making facilities and a lockable door with 24 hr security. The welcoming host was friendly and efficient and we were very confident we had chosen the perfect place for our budget. We were within walking distance of the beach and town, with a handy late night shop just a few minutes walk away. This time we didn't experience the rest of the facilities available, such as the swimming pool, games room or bar/ entertainment..but it was good to know they were an option. Thanks for making our trip an enjoyable one Laguna; we planning returning in the future.

Insgesamt ist es eine große Lage und die Einrichtungen sind wirklich gut, vor allem der Innenpool und der Fitnessraum,. Das Zimmer war in ernster Notwendigkeit einer Renovierung (Es gab Löcher in den Wänden) und krampfte (Familiezimmer für 4) aber wir schliefen gut in den Betten. Dass wir nicht einen Schüttel in der Badezimmer-Klebepuppe hatten, war auch nicht hilfreich. Wir haben das Frühstück vorbezahlt und fanden es ein wenig fehlend. Obwohl es ein wenig Variante (Kaffee, Tee, Getreide, Toast, Brot und Gemüse, englische Frühstücksartikel wie Bohnen, geschrotet Eier, schwarze Pudding, Sauce usw.) gab, könnte die Qualität mit etwas mehr Aufmerksamkeit/Betreuung ein wenig besser sein. So waren die geschroteten Eier ziemlich trocken und geschmackvoll fast wie Kunststoff, während die schwarze Pudding wirklich trocken war. Ich denke, das könnte entweder durch die Rotation der Lebensmittel gelöst werden, so dass es nicht zu lange in den Heizgeräten sitzt, z.B. Frühstück beginnt um 6:30 und wir gingen immer um 8:30, also das Essen dort sitzt fast 2 Stunden.

Ausgezeichnete Lage … in der Nähe des Strandes, 10-15 Minuten zu Fuß vom Bahnhof und 5-10 Minuten zu Fuß zu Lebensmittelgeschäften. Unser Zimmer hatte ein ausgezeichnetes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis, wir zahlten für ein Standard-Doppelzimmer und bekamen ein Familienzimmer! Das Personal war freundlich und recht hilfsbereit. Wir baten um ein paar Müslischalen und Löffel zum Mitnehmen an einem Abend, gingen aber nur mit einer Schale und ohne Löffel weg, lol … keine Erklärung, warum!! Insgesamt ist es das beste günstige Hotel, in dem wir in Bournemouth übernachtet haben.

2nd time to stay here, always enjoyed it. The location is perfect, close to the pier, bars and restaurants. the Rooms are very clean. Staff are very friendly. Paul is very helpful
