RRenee C.I had a truly memorable stay at YUNDU and would strongly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, tastefully designed, and warm place to stay in Lijiang. Overall, the experience was very positive, with excellent service, cozy design, and many thoughtful touches. There were a few minor areas for improvement, but they did not take away from how much I enjoyed my stay.
Breakfast was excellent and honestly better than many meals I had outside. The local auntie who prepares breakfast is incredibly warm and friendly. The mixian is very foreigner-friendly, light, comforting, and not oily or salty like many outside options. I requested extra vegetables and additional boiled eggs, and she was more than happy to accommodate. This care really stood out.
YUNDU’s Samoyed dog, Sanjin (三斤), is truly the heart and mascot of the hotel. He is extremely friendly and intelligent. Staff would say things like “去拍照，去跟姐姐玩” and Sanjin would immediately come over. During my afternoon tea, he quietly came over and sat beside me, which was a very heart-warming moment. Upon checkout, I even received Sanjin fridge magnets and a Polaroid photo, which was incredibly thoughtful.
First impressions were great.
As part of the package, YUNDU arranged an airport pickup from Lijiang Airport using a clean, comfortable EV. The driver was friendly, chatty, and helpful, and the ride to the hotel was smooth and relaxing.
I was pleasantly surprised with a free room upgrade. The upgraded room was spacious, perfect for morning stretching, and included a large and very clean bathtub. Bath balls and a sheet mask were provided, which was a lovely winter touch. The bed was very comfortable. The pillows were a bit soft for me, but there were firmer ones available, and layering them worked well. The blanket was thick, soft, and warm, and even during power outages, I stayed comfortable.
Facilities were well thought out, including a Laifen hair dryer with strong airflow, a large high-definition TV facing the bed with VIP streaming access, and a large humidifier suitable for overnight use. The bathroom layout was excellent for winter, with separated toilet and shower. The electronic toilet has heating and auto-flush, and the shower area includes warm air from above. The mirror lighting is also great for makeup.
There were some minor layout quirks. There is no floor heating, and the slippers were placed far from the entrance. The electric kettle was placed on a cabinet with no power socket nearby.
Service was one of YUNDU’s strongest points. Staff helped with luggage, provided room tours, and checked in regularly via WeChat. When I mentioned possible altitude discomfort, they even gifted me an oxygen tank. The boss was friendly and happily helped me take photos with Sanjin.
The only small gap was the butler service. I only realised who my butler was on the last night, and one included service, a butler-accompanied visit to Baisha Ancient Town, which never happened — neither I nor the staff remembered it until I reviewed my package later on Trip.com. That said, my butler was extremely efficient in arranging transportation to Lugu Lake, with smooth coordination and reasonable pricing.
The entire property is tastefully decorated, cozy, and inviting. The fireplace in the lobby is a highlight and perfect for winter evenings. During my first two nights, there were power outages. While this delayed some of my work, the room stayed warm. The upside was zero light pollution, and I could see a sky full of stars, which became one of my favourite moments of the stay.
I strongly recommend YUNDU to anyone looking for a beautiful view, thoughtful design, warm service, and a cozy yet affordable stay in Lijiang. If you love Lijiang, come to Baisha. If you love Baisha, come to YUNDU.

However, the location is a bit far from main areas, which may be inconvenient for some travelers. In addition, the cups and bowls provided were slightly dirty, so we did not feel hygienic to use.
Overall, it was a pleasant stay with great service from the owner, but there is room for improvement in cleanliness and location convenience.

BBul.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Most Memorable Stay of My First Trip to China
I did a lot of research before choosing this guesthouse in Lijiang. Then I saw a photo of Aobai and somehow felt a calling 😂. I'm so glad I booked it because this turned out to be the most memorable stay of my entire trip.
From the moment we arrived, Ah Zhi and Xiaofei came to pick us up from the drop-off point and helped with our large and heavy luggage. We were travelling with children and walking slowly, but Xiaofei patiently walked with us while Ah Zhi pulled the luggage trolley all the way.
My first impression was that Ah Zhi and Xiaofei looked quite serious and intimidating 😂, but after getting to know them, I discovered they are some of the kindest and most helpful people I met during my trip.
The guesthouse is tucked away among the shops, making it peaceful, quiet, and cozy. We were welcomed by beautiful lady boss Wang Hui with high-quality Pu'er tea and flower pastries. The hospitality started immediately, and the tea never seemed to stop flowing.
Xiaofei, who constantly made sure I never went thirsty. Every time he saw me, he would offer me tea or stop by for a chat. Although my Mandarin is limited, communication was never a problem. We used Google Translate whenever needed and even had a few of our famous ”fresh air sessions” together 😂. Before long, it became an inside joke whenever Ah Zhi or Xiaofei saw me.
Of course, I cannot forget Aobai, the true star of the guesthouse! The owners were always happy to let Aobai out whenever my children wanted to see or play with him. After one play session, Xiaofei even noticed my coat was covered in Aobai's fur and handed me a lint remover. Such a thoughtful gesture.
Breakfast was one of the most unique experiences. All guests sit together at one long dining table, creating a warm and homely atmosphere. As a Muslim, I couldn't eat the noodles, but that was not a problem. I enjoyed steamed sweet potatoes, corn, and eggs, while the staff kindly prepared hot water for the cup noodles I brought for my children and even provided milk drinks. Everyone was respectful of my dietary restrictions.
There is also a free-flow coffee machine in the lobby using freshly ground coffee beans. Thank you, Ah Zhi, for making fresh coffee for me. When I requested milk for my coffee, Ah Zhi and Xiaofei happily helped. These little gestures made me feel so welcome.
It rained throughout our stay, but Xiaofei and Ah Zhi constantly reminded us to take umbrellas whenever we went out. Even when they were having dinner, they would come out to assist us, greet us when we returned, or see us off when we left.
A special thank you to Wang Hui, Ah Zhi, and Xiaofei. Their warmth, kindness, and hospitality made us feel completely at home. On checkout day, our train was very early, and Ah Zhi kindly sent us off with flower pastries and milk drinks for the journey. Xiaofei also recommended a halal restaurant nearby, and the food was exceptionally delicious.
I would also like to thank the other staff members whose names I unfortunately did not get. Every single person we met was welcoming, friendly, and genuinely caring.
I already miss Aobai and would return in a heartbeat. Thank you for making my first trip to China such a memorable one.

GGastnutzerThis stay is the best ever. Not only is the guesthouse clean and beautifully located right across from Erhai Lake. But what impressed me most was the hospitality and service—especially from Joy. From picking us up at the train station, to helping us arrange an EV bike rental (even though we eventually decided not to), to personally taking us to dinner and recommending dishes, trusting us with her dog Hamburg, and specially arranging for us to be dropped off at the station when we left even though she was busy with work. Joy made sure everything was well taken care of. She is a true asset to the guesthouse: friendly, sincere in her kind gestures without expecting anything in return, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. What we admire most is that Joy treats her dog as a family member. She is truly a person filled with loving kindness and will always be blessed for this.
The part we appreciated most was getting to spend quality time with her dog, Hamburg, who brought us so much happiness and filled our days with joy. Hamburg is a loving dog with a heart of gold. Anyone especially dog lovers would truly fall in love with him. Together, Joy and Hamburg make the best combination. They brought smiles and joy to us. They are the real assets of the place. We hope they will be greatly rewarded.

Great hospitality was also shown by others on the team. Miki served us breakfast every morning with a smile and was always at the reception keeping Hamburg company. She not only looks after him but also make sure he is in good hands, safe and happily running about. Miki carried Hamburg to bid us farewell. She also updated us on Hamburg's progress daily, which we greatly appreciated. knowing that he is happy made us happy.👍
Most importantly, the owner, Krystina, made us feel at home and welcomed. She has a warm personality, is friendly, and treats her staff like family. She is also in the midst of learning English for self-improvement. She has the willingness to learn and the kind of down-to-earth attitude that most hotel owners don't. We felt comfortable being with her, and she even hosted a farewell dinner for us. What we love most is that she is an animal lover and even included Hamburg in the dinner. She has a heart full of compassion. We had a great time together, and the night ended with smiles and laughter. We started as strangers but ended as friends.🙂
We were reluctant to leave after three nights, and if given the chance, we would love to extend our stay to a week in the future. This place is truly a gem, thanks to the wonderful management and the people behind it. We will surely recommend friends to your guesthouse—it is a gem hidden in Dali.

Es gibt viele Restaurants, die in der Nähe von den Bewohnern essen. Das warme Wasser im Zimmer ist gekühlt ㄧ ㄧ und es ist ein scharfes Leben. Das Wasser im Bad wird ausgehen, was das Zimmer verheilt. Das Gerät fühlt sich etwas alt.

Als ich gerade in den Gasthaus kam, waren die beiden Chefs und Schwestern sehr enthusiastisch, hilf mir, das Gepäck zu nehmen und mein Freund zu entschuldigen. Das Zimmer ist sauber und schlafen nachts sauber, insbesondere die beiden Gaffie-Katzen im Garten, so süß! Insgesamt ist es eine gute Gästeoption für Dali, die Altstadt zu reisen.

JJyang35Ich hatte vor meinem Einchecken im Yunlai Homestay eine wunderschöne Aussicht auf die sanften Hügel erwartet. Und ich wurde nicht enttäuscht. Zusätzlich bot die Unterkunft einen herrlichen Blick auf See und Garten. Der See war während meines Besuchs von wunderschönem Schilf und Kosmeen umgeben – ein Anblick wie aus dem Bilderbuch. Yunlai liegt ideal, nur 10 Autominuten von den beliebten historischen Städten Baisha und Shuhe entfernt. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und bot täglich einen kostenlosen Transfer in beide Städte an.
Das Zimmer war ebenfalls wunderschön und mit allen modernen Annehmlichkeiten ausgestattet, darunter Smart-TVs und -WCs, eine Minibar, ein Beamer und eine große Badewanne. Das Bett war super bequem und die Bettwäsche sauber und frisch.
Ich habe die hausgemachten Reisnudeln sehr genossen. Das Frühstücksbuffet könnte um einen Obstkorb, frische Sojamilch oder Kaffee oder auch ein westliches Frühstück erweitert werden.
Die Aussicht im obersten Stockwerk war atemberaubend, und der Raum könnte mit echten Pflanzen und Blumen dekoriert werden, da die Region für ihren üppigen Blütenreichtum bekannt ist.
Vielen Dank an das freundliche Personal, das meinen kurzen Aufenthalt so angenehm und einladend gestaltet hat. Ich freue mich schon auf meinen nächsten Besuch in Yunnan.

Schon nach wenigen Schritten können Sie den einzigartigen Charme der Altstadt spüren, durch die alten Straßen schlendern und die traditionelle Naxi-Architektur bewundern. Es ist sehr praktisch. Es gibt viele Restaurants und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und es ist voller Leben.
Als ich das B&B betrat, war ich von der Umgebung sofort fasziniert. Der Hof ist exquisit dekoriert und mit verschiedenen Blumen und Pflanzen bepflanzt. Er ist voller Vitalität und Poesie. Es ist sehr bequem, im Hof zu sitzen, sich in der Sonne zu aalen und Tee zu trinken. Das Zimmer ist sauber und ordentlich, die Betten sind weich und bequem, die Ausstattung ist komplett und die Details sind sorgfältig durchdacht, was das Wohnen besonders komfortabel macht.
Auch der Besitzer und das Personal des B&B waren sehr begeistert. Vom herzlichen Empfang beim Einchecken über die Vorstellung interessanter Orte und köstlicher Gerichte in Lijiang bis hin zur Hilfe bei der Reiseplanung war alles gut durchdacht und wir fühlten uns wie zu Hause.
Während der wenigen Tage, die ich hier verbrachte, schlief ich jeden Tag mit der wunderschönen Landschaft von Lijiang ein und wachte auf, begleitet von der starken menschlichen Berührung. Es war wirklich ein unvergessliches Erlebnis. Wenn ich in Zukunft die Gelegenheit habe, nach Lijiang zu kommen, werde ich auf jeden Fall wieder dieses B&B wählen und es Freunden, die nach Lijiang fahren, wärmstens empfehlen!

GGastnutzerWas für eine angenehme Überraschung. Dieses kleine Boutique-Hotel hat all unsere Erwartungen erfüllt. Bequemes Zimmer, gutes Frühstück, hilfsbereites Personal und zu allem Überfluss sprach der Besitzer sehr gutes Englisch. Es liegt nicht zu weit in den Gassen der Altstadt, sodass man leicht zur Hauptstraße laufen kann. Das Ambiente war perfekt, der ruhige Innenhof und das Frühstücks-/Teehaus boten eine schöne Erholung von den Menschenmassen und dem Trubel der Altstadt. Wir würden auf jeden Fall wieder buchen, wenn wir in Lijiang wären.
