Our stay at this hotel during our recent Siargao trip was truly a wonderful and memorable experience. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the staff, whose friendliness, professionalism, and attentiveness made us feel comfortable throughout our entire stay. The hotel itself is newly opened, and it shows in the excellent condition and cleanliness of the property. The rooms were exceptionally clean, cozy, and thoughtfully designed, providing a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere after long days of exploring the island. We also appreciated the quality amenities provided, which added to the overall comfort and convenience of our stay. One of the highlights of this hotel is its stunning location. The breathtaking sea view combined with the beautiful view of Cloud 9 created a peaceful and scenic environment that truly captured the charm of Siargao. The pool area was also very well-maintained and provided the perfect place to unwind and relax. The food served at the hotel was excellent, with delicious meals that we genuinely enjoyed throughout our stay. Every aspect of the experience reflected the hotel’s commitment to quality service and guest satisfaction. Another major advantage is the hotel’s location, as it is conveniently within walking distance to Cloud 9, making it very accessible for guests who want to explore one of Siargao’s most popular attractions. Overall, we had an exceptionally pleasant stay and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Siargao. It offers the perfect combination of comfort, cleanliness, beautiful scenery, excellent food, and outstanding hospitality. We would gladly stay here again on our next visit to the island.

Ehrlich gesagt hatte ich von dieser Resortunterkunft mehr erwartet, da mir meine Freunde einen Aufenthalt hier empfohlen hatten. Das Personal war nicht aufmerksam und hat uns nicht einmal freundliche Gastfreundschaft entgegengebracht. Sie waren etwas snobistisch, und als wir in ihrem Massagezentrum eine Massage bekamen, entspannten wir uns am Ende unseres Urlaubs nicht, sondern mein Freund hatte stattdessen verspannte Schultern. Ich bin philippinischer Abstammung, aber nicht auf dem Land aufgewachsen und habe einen anderen Reisepass. Beim Einchecken fragte mich das Personal nach einem gültigen Ausweis auf Philippinisch, aber natürlich zeigte ich meinen Reisepass vor, aber sie verdrehte die Augen, als sie sah, dass ich einen Reisepass und nicht ihren vermeintlich „gültigen Ausweis“ hatte. Ich habe hier einfach so viel Verbitterung und Vorurteile von allen Mitarbeitern gespürt, weil Englisch meine Muttersprache ist und ich in meiner Kindheit und im Alltag kaum Philippinisch spreche, sodass sich ihre Einstellung mir gegenüber komplett ändert, weil sie denken, ich würde nur so tun oder anmaßend sein.

Wunderschönes Hotel, aber für ein neues Hotel ist es schlecht organisiert und viele Annehmlichkeiten müssen noch fertiggestellt werden. Die Konferenzräume konnten nicht genutzt werden. Das Internet in den Zimmern fiel ständig aus und war für Geschäftstreffen sehr unzuverlässig. Ich musste die Teamtelefone in der Nähe der Rezeption anrufen. Unpraktisch! Ich habe in drei verschiedenen Zimmern übernachtet und bin mehr als zweimal aufgewacht, ohne dass es warmes Wasser zum Duschen gab. Es gibt keine ausreichenden Kontrollen, um sicherzustellen, dass ein Gästezimmer bereit und funktionsfähig ist. Das Essen ist wahrscheinlich für Einheimische großartig, aber nicht für Westler. Viele der beworbenen Gerichte gibt es einfach nicht. Toller Poolbereich, aber keine Außenbar oder erlaubt, im Poolbereich etwas zu trinken. Ich werde 2025 regelmäßig geschäftlich nach Butuan kommen und suche daher nach einem anständigen Ort mit abwechslungsreichem Essen und zuverlässigem Internet. Ich habe es hier nicht gefunden.

I didn’t expect how nice the Watergate Hotel is. I chose this hotel because it’s close to the airport. I only stayed overnight and will surely come back for my next visit. The hotel is clean and cozy. The staff are friendly, and the service is great. I highly recommend this hotel to others or friends.

Kalipay is conveniently located along the main road, walking distance from CEV (the best ceviche in Siargao) and Happiness Bar (best happy hour deal). The resort is quiet, has a nice pool and the rooms are clean. The staff are amazing — friendly, accommodating and extra helpful. The receptionist, Kim, took really good care of us.

Pros: • hotel is new, they only opened last August • room was very spacious • beds, pillows, comforter were very comfortable • bathroom was very spacious with complimentary toothbrushes, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner • airconditioning was superb • room has a balcony (that we didn’t use) Cons • because it’s new, apparently their how shower has not been installed yet. But they provide hot water from the kitchen and will bring to the room in a pail 😂 • location is not ideal as it is a good 10-minute walk on a dirt road to get to the main tourism road • breakfast wasn’t impressive. The tapa and the tocino were tough. All in all, it’s still value for money. The entries crew were very friendly and accommodating. And I will still consider staying there next time.

Es scheint die beste Unterkunft in Siargao zu sein! Es war schön, dass es eine gewisse Wasserfilterung gab und ein früher Check-in möglich war. Etwas enttäuschend war jedoch, dass es nur einen Schlüssel gab, sodass die Klimaanlage nicht immer eingeschaltet werden konnte.

Place was okay for a family stay. It's not a private villa anymore since there's a restobar inside. I love the staff though, friendly and always smiling and accommodating. Place is also near establishments and you can just walk around. Cloud 9 is like less than 10 mins away. There are dogs inside which I didn't like because they could just have pooped and peed anywhere. Not ideal for kids to play on the sand. There are also pearl sellers and as much as I feel bad, it just ruins your peace and quiet as they dont stop bothering you until you buy. Overall still thinking of going back here in case there's another trip in place. :)

Impressen Sie mit dem Service hier von Anfang bis Ende. Sehr sauber und gut gepflegte Unterkunft wert die $$ hier bleiben. Sicherheit war 24hr. Pool und Aussichten. Ich wünsche mir, dass der Preis für das Restaurant war weniger, da es mehr Kunden zu ziehen Essen war gut und der saure Getränk war mein Favorit. Es war ruhig, als wir gingen, was entspannt und kühl. Wenn Sie nach diesem Vibe suchen! Nur auf der Rückseite.

It has been the best vacation ever ! Their staff is just amazing, always willing to help and make our stay comfortable, convenient and easy. The location is just perfect. We have all the main points and restaurants closer so, we just needed to walk and no need to use the scooter or tuk tuk. Philippines people is awesome, we were in Coron before but, after visiting Siargao we are sure that we have to come back. If you want to come to Siargao please don’t have any doubt to choose Isla Cabana resort.
