Courtyard by Marriott Sapporo

This hotel is a must especially if you’re going during the Sapporo Yuki Matsuri (Snow Festival). Susukino and Odori site are only few blocks away and the Tsudome site is only a subway ride away. It’s super close to the subway station and it’s also close to Nakajima Park where you can play in the snow. The Susukino site is a very lively place with plenty of shops and restaurants.
Lake Shikotsu Tsuruga Resort Spa Mizu No Uta
4.6/5163 Bewertungen
From the moment we arrived at Mizu no Uta, Tsuruga Resort at Lake Shikotsu, we were enveloped in an atmosphere of tranquil luxury. Valet parking greeted us, and we were swiftly escorted to a path lined with zen music, setting the tone for a stay where every detail exudes serenity. Upon entering the reception, a majestic wooden carving of an owl, a powerful symbol of protection in Ainu culture, watched over us. In a delightful and intimate touch, we were asked to remove our shoes – a gesture that immediately made the resort feel like a sanctuary. Walking barefoot on soft wooden floors in such a refined environment felt like the ultimate indulgence. Live harp music floated through the air as we were led past a live fireplace, its warm flames inviting guests to roast marshmallows, adding a whimsical, yet homely feel to the elegant surroundings. The staff, attentive yet discreet, escorted us to our room via separate lifts, ensuring our luggage was seamlessly handled. Entering the room, we were struck by its sheer spaciousness. A half-sized fridge, thoughtfully included, perfectly stored all our chilled treats from the road trip. But the true star was the view: an uninterrupted panorama of lush greenery, stretching out to meet the serene waters of Lake Shikotsu. The combination of the stunning scenery and the luxurious in-room robe made us feel like chaebols, lounging in opulence and shielded from the cool lakeside breeze. As for the dining, the buffet at Mizu no Uta is nothing short of spectacular. Where many buffets struggle to balance quantity and quality, this resort excels at both. Highlights included a live dessert station and a live pizza-making corner, where thin-crust pizzas, surprisingly better than those from Furano’s famed Cheese Factory, were expertly prepared. The spread also featured an incredible assortment of sashimi – the freshest I encountered during my 1.5-week trip across various hotels. The salmon and mackerel, both raw and uniquely marinated in glass jars, were exceptional. The hot dishes maintained the same elevated standard. A simple tomato-based clam spaghetti was transformed by the quality of ingredients, while even the sautéed kailan was enhanced with the addition of Parma ham. Local produce, such as the fresh broccoli used in the cream-based dishes, lent an unmistakable brightness to each bite. The combination of Japanese and Western cuisine was balanced beautifully, with every plate delivering a sense of thoughtful craftsmanship. Of course, no stay at a lakeside resort would be complete without a visit to the onsen bath. While slightly smaller than the one at Lake Akan, the onsen here is far superior in cleanliness and upkeep. Conveniently, the bath is stocked with towels, so there’s no need to carry your own from the room. The experience is further enhanced by a sauna illuminated with soothing blue light, adding a layer of tranquility to the ritual. The open-air onsen is another highlight. For those who appreciate the purity of nature, the bath even features drinkable Lake Shikotsu water, renowned as one of Japan’s top 100 spring waters. This thoughtful touch, coupled with the stunning views, creates an immersive experience that is equal parts restorative and luxurious.
Park Hyatt Niseko Hanazono
4.6/590 Bewertungen
I would like to share a few words with you about our feeling of coming back to your Park Hyatt Hanazono hotel from 29/3/2024 to 3/4/2024. We are beginners of skiing, therefore, our first choice is a ski-in and ski-out hotel. Therefore, last year we came to your hotel and we came back again for further improvement of our skiing. We travelled a long way from the airport to your hotel for almost over 3 hours. However, we didn't receive a warm welcome from your hotel by the time we got out of our car. By the time we checked-in, the handling time took much longer than I expected, maybe we all felt tired after long travelling and wanted to go up to our room. Another guest who was sitting next to me seemed to complain about your service to another staff.. When we arrived at our room, only 3 mandarins were put on the table to welcome us but they did not look very attractive. Next morning, the breakfast was as good as last year, because nothing more had changed. But again, not very welcoming. Our dishes were piling up on the table long before they were taken away. That was not the case last year. We asked guest service to fold up the sofa bed as we wanted it to be more spacious. However, I called several to get it done when we came back from skiing in the evening. But we clearly said we could do it when we were out in the daytime. We booked 2 adults and 1 child, however, we could only find 3 adult clothes for onsen. We called guest service to provide us with child cloth for onsen. However, after tidying up, they provided us with another 3 sets of clothes for onsen again. So, my daughter wore oversized clothes to the onsen. It was not like this when we first came here last year. Luckily, on the third day, we met a new and young manager during breakfast, we received a warm welcoming smile for the first time. We chatted for a while and my daughter felt happy with him. Last year, my daughter made some friends here with your staff and learnt some Japanese from your staff. That made her like the Japanese culture and language. Ironically, after folding up the sofa bed, they mistakenly mixed up my daughter white colored soft toy - cinnamoroll - with the bed sheets for the laundry. Luckily, maybe with the help of the young guy, we found it back. My daughter was so delighted, thanks for all your efforts, but however, the soft toy had been shrunk by the laundry machine. The inner tubing was one of our favors in Park Hyatt Hotel, however, it looked obscenity and did not match with the natural scenery and the well-designed architecture surroundings at all. It looked like a facility in a developing country. Next Easter holiday was a late holiday, maybe no more snow for skiing. Originally we had planned to come again with whole families of six for skiing. Maybe it is high time for us to look for another ski-in ski-out hotel, though I have promised the young guy to meet him next year.
Akan Yuku No Sato Tsuruga

Very new hotel. One of the most friendly and cozy staffs I have ever met. The room is spacious, new and very clean. The dinner is average but the breakfast is so good. The even brought our leftover rice in the pot to make onigiri to go. Will definitely go back again next time in Hokkaido.
Portom International Hokkaido

Hilton Niseko Village
4.3/5388 Bewertungen
The room was standard Hilton. Ski in ski out, and have very convenient shuttle services to connect with other resorts. Staffs are very nice and professional, a well balanced global team make passengers from different places feel like home. One the other light worth to mention was the TEA ceremony holds by a tea master from Kyoto. Since Hokkaido was famous because it’s dairy products, i didn’t expect run into such a thing here. The tea master really puts a lot of thought into how to make the guests feel the authentic Japanese tea culture. The process wasn’t too complicated for foreigners to follow, and it will amazingly put you in a zen peace mode, like a sort of meditation. Worth to stop by if you stay there.
OMO7 Asahikawa by Hoshino Resorts
4.4/5136 Bewertungen
Stepping into OMO7 Asahikawa in October is like entering a whimsical, yet refined autumn wonderland. The hotel’s commitment to its local roots shines through, from the delightful Halloween décor to the quirky concierge team, each donning animal masks that pay homage to Asahikawa’s natural inhabitants—squirrels, rabbits, and even the elusive Ezo deer. These playful touches make every guest feel part of the seasonal festivities. The rooms are a modern take on casual luxury, offering just enough space for comfort without compromising on style. The raised platform bed is a clever design element, providing practical storage underneath and adding to the room’s sleek aesthetic. A standout feature is the open-air lounge on the fifth floor, an unexpected retreat furnished with contemporary pieces crafted by Asahikawa artisans. On chilly evenings, guests can cozy up next to a real bonfire, fleece blankets at hand, savoring the warmth after a rejuvenating sauna. Though the public bath boasts a modern, serene ambiance, its popularity can be surprising—on one evening, I found myself queuing for a shower cubicle, an unusual experience in such a tranquil setting. But any minor inconvenience was quickly forgotten, thanks to the small, thoughtful touches scattered throughout the hotel. Most memorable was the welcome drink station by the concierge, where Haskap juice—served from a bear motif faucet—offered a burst of refreshing, tangy delight. Breakfast at OMO7 is all about quality over quantity. The buffet may not overwhelm with variety, but each dish, from seasonal delights like salmon on waffles to the perfectly creamy scrambled eggs, feels lovingly curated. It’s a modest spread, but one where every bite counts, making the start to each day a little more special. OMO7 Asahikawa manages to balance fun and sophistication with effortless grace—truly a hidden gem for those looking to explore this lesser-known corner of Japan in style.
