AAlanPBooked in for 1 night to have a rest in some luxurious surroundings after a lot of travelling around the country visiting friends. Hunday Manor is a beautiful old house in a fantastic spot on the side of a hill with a great view. The hotel is very well appointed and the rooms are well looked after. The quality of the food for both an evening meal and the cooked-to-order breakfast was excellent. Perhaps the only facility I would add is a few overnight EV charge points in the car park.
The service however was rather comical, starting with check-in. After confirming my name, 1 night stay, and printing out the reservation sheet, somehow the chap on reception muddled up my solo reservation with a couple arriving on the same day who were staying for a couple of weeks and gave me their room. After settling in for a much needed afternoon nap in the very comfortable bed and 'locking' the door on the inside, the rather startled couple walked in having been given a card for the same room. From that point on I never really managed to relax. I offered to move room when I went down for dinner later on, but the chap declined and mumbled something odd about the length of stay and seemed to point at the paperwork suggesting I had signed it making it my mistake! Sigh.
Things didn't get a lot better in the restaurant. Myself and another solo traveller were given tables at the back (by the same chap), seemingly to keep us out the way of the couples who arrived later and were seated at the windows. When either of us asked questions about the menu there was lack of understanding about the dishes.. I was then asked around half a dozen times by multiple staff if everything was ok. Meanwhile I could hear one of the couples quitely chatting about their room, no doubt the room I was in. Upon trying to put the bill on my room, the same chap from earlier left me at the bar with a card machine asking whether I wanted to add a tip.
At breakfast the next morning it continued. When I arrived the first breakfast room was full of tables needing clearing so I was given a table in the same area where I had dinner. This time given a table at the window but right in front of the only other guest, a lady already eating her breakfast. My table wasn't set so inexplicably the waiter clumsily took a second place-setting from her table while she was midway through eating! After dusting a few crumbs from one of the plates I enjoyed my breakfast. Towards the end of eating the staff were discussing how to rearrange the room for an event later in the day and started moving things around. After hearing the same couple from dinner asking to be told when their room was made available, cleaners were hanging around at the bottom of the stairs when I returned to the room. Nothing like a bit of a hurry up to finish breakfast and get out of your room to make you feel like a valued guest.
Upon check-out an apology and a chat but by then the damage was done. No offer to comp a drink (or dinne)r after making a mess of things either. It's a lovely hotel that could offer a real 5-star experience, but the service ended up more like an episode of Fawlty Towers and needs a bit of a rethink.
Next stop China.

GGastnutzerRum Doodle, well it was our first time at The Lakes and it certainly won't be our last! The location was just right with being part way between Windermere town and Bowness and was walkable to both. There were plenty of shops, bars and restaurants in walking distance as well as lake Windermere itself.
We found Rum Doodle with ease and was greeted at the door with a smile and friendly man (the owner but didn't catch his name). We were bought a fresh glass of apple and orange juice to our room which was refreshing after a long drive to Windermere. Our room was comfy, not too big or too small, a wardrobe, seating in the bay window, hairdryer, hot drink making facilities, wine glasses with cork screw and bottle opener. Very modern, clean and well presented bathroom with soft and fluffy towels, and a really nice shower. The bed was very comfortable and welcomed after a busy day exploring the surrounding area.
Breakfast was really good with cereal, fresh fruit and yogurt, toast, and then a choice of breakfast which were great too.
We had a pleasant and informative chat at breakfast with the lady that works there who gave us the heads up on some driving routes to try and avoid which was really useful.
After a day out exploring we went back to Rum Doodle to a cleaned room and freshly made bed with the tea and coffee replenished, so we were able to just drop and the bed with a nice cuppa and biscuit. Then out for a walk, some lovely food and a couple of drinks.
We couldn't recommend The Lakes and Rum Doodle enough! Well worth every penny

GGastnutzer200 £ für ein Grundzimmer für eine Nacht war etwas auf der preiswerten Seite für mich, aber es war alles schön. Einige der Fotos des Grundzimmers sind irreführend. Die Fotos zeigen ein vier-Post-Doppelbett, das nicht der Fall ist. Wir haben später herausgefunden, dass dies tatsächlich ein Exekutivzimmer ist, obwohl es grundsätzlich gekennzeichnet ist.
Wir haben herausgefunden, dass die Lage des Hotels mit dem Bus vom Bahnhof Oxenholme (auch wenn es umgekehrt gesagt wird) zugänglich ist und einen großen Blick auf schöne Felder hat. Das Essen im Hotel ist gut, aber teuer ... Meine Augen haben fast ihre Socken ausgemacht, als ich die £ 8.00 Gebühr nur für die kleinste Menge von Tischbrot sah. Ich würde sagen, das war wahrscheinlich der Grund, warum das Restaurant leer war, obwohl gesagt wurde, wir brauchen einen Tisch aufgrund seiner Popularität zu buchen. Schwimmbad und Dampfraum sind durchschnittlich zum Preis.
Das Personal ist freundlich und hat uns in ein Doppelbettzimmer kostenlos umgewandelt, nachdem uns in ein Doppelbettzimmer versehentlich eingestellt.

AAnonymer BenutzerWir reservierten das Superior Doppelzimmer und ich fühlte es gut wert, das extra für die wunderschöne Aussicht, die wir von 2 großen Fenstern hatten - ob der Himmel sonnig oder wolkenig war.
Die Lage war ausgezeichnet - innerhalb von 5 bis 10 Minuten zu Fuß zur Stadt und zum Derwent Wasser und Parkplatz war gut erläutert und umfassend. Auf dem Eingang des Fellpack Hauses war es angenehm, gut betreut und eingeladen. Unser Zimmer im oberen Stock (Treppen ganz oben) war direkt aus einer Home & Decor Magazine. Die Ausstattung, die Möbel, Handtücher und Getränke waren Qualitätsartikel und wir sahen, dass sie auch lokale Quellen Seife und Getränke verwendeten. Hauspflege war täglich und ich liebe, dass die uns jeden Tag leckere, getrocknete Schokoladechip-Küchen gab!
Das Frühstück war frisch und süß. Dass sie als Restaurant (das über die Straße arbeitet und hoch bewertet) in ihrem Frühstück durchfahren - ich essen so viel und es war jeden Kalorien wert!
Wir trafen viele im Laufe unseres Aufenthalts und jeder von ihnen war warm, chattisch, hochkundenorientiert und witty!
Kannst du mir sagen, wie sehr ich unseren Aufenthalt dort geliebt habe 😀

Rrockylee1. Das Hotel befindet sich in einer sehr guten Lage, der Weg zum Schiffshafen ist in 10 Minuten. Es gibt viele Restaurants in der Nähe und die Speisen sind sehr bequem. Das Zimmer ist groß, es gibt einen Wohnzimmer, überraschend, aber der Wohnzimmer ist am Bett, neben der Straße, einige Schmutzstücke früh und Nacht, insbesondere die britische Autogeschwindigkeit ist im Allgemeinen schneller und etwas beachtenswert. Frühstück ist vorbereitetes Brot, Joghurt, Milch und andere, manche im Kühlschrank, manche im Lagerhaus, nicht zu viel erwarten.
2, wenn Sie sich selbst fahren, und die Rezeption brauchen Sie eine Parkkarte, 3 Pfund pro Tag, unbegrenzte Parkplätze, es gibt mehrere Standorte, die Sie parken können, es ist wirklich sehr bequem. Wenn Sie gehen, können Sie zuerst zum Parkplatz fahren, und wenn Sie zurückkommen, können Sie die Schranke und die Parkkarte auf die Rezeption setzen.

GGastnutzerThe hotel is in a great location the staff are very helpful & pleasent however the hotel & rooms are tired & a bit small.
There isn't a fridge in the room, the bathroom nightlight didn't work nor did the hairdryer it was also not possible to turn the towel heating rail off so having it on all day & night caused the room to be constantly hot (no air con).
The bathroom is small however the shower was excellent unfortunately the shower tray had a couple of large cracks which had been covered over with (discoloured) tape which made it look scruffy.
Breakfast was average, the breakfast room looked like it was waiting for an overhaul & the food was limited but ok.
Not sure I would stay here again there are other hotels for a similar price that, despite the lack of sea view, are far superior.

DDujueputiDas Zimmer ist fantastisch sanitär und sauber! Die Lage ist in der Nähe des Sees, der See ist nicht weit entfernt, zum Bahnhof zu gehen.
Der Boss ist ein sehr herrlicher Herr. Es ist sehr aufmerksam, dass er, sobald er im Hotel kam, die Umgebung des Windmilchsees ausführlich erläuterte und die Tourmap gegeben hat. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker! Es ist unvergesslich! Der Boss war sehr enthusiastisch, mir bei der Abreise zu helfen, einen Taxi zu buchen. Das ist eine schöne Reise.

GGastnutzer”Wir blieben drei Nächte in diesem Haus. Wir kamen um 11:00 Uhr, aber der Gastont noch sehr herzlich willkommen!! In der Nacht bemerkten wir nicht wirklich die Außenanordnung, aber am nächsten Morgen sahen wir, dass der Garten absolut schön ist.
Wir haben im Zimmer Nr. 3 – ein sehr künstlerisches Queen/Königbettzimmer mit Jacuzzi, einige Snacks, Milch und gefülltes Wasser geblieben. Das Zimmer ist exquisit, und Sie können dem Gastgeber sagen, dass sie viel Liebe in sie 💝 gelegt hat.
Das Frühstück war auch lecker!! Es gibt mehrere Optionen, die Sie aus – einfach den Vortag wissen lassen. Es gibt auch ein kleines Kühlschrank im Zimmer, wo Sie Ihre eigenen Getränke lagern können. Das Frühstück umfasst Brot, kleine Snacks und Orangensaft.
Ich empfehle es sehr (liebte es 😘 – es fühlt sich wie zu Hause). Der Wohnsitz hat nur fünf Zimmer, so die Verfügbarkeit ist ziemlich begrenzt, aber ich möchte es immer noch so viele Menschen wie möglich empfehlen! ”

SSimon & Kathleen ArmstrongWir haben unseren Aufenthalt im Stafford Guest House gründlich genossen. Das Immobilien ist schön, in friedlichen Umgebungen eingerichtet und ergänzt durch einen schönen Garten.
Wir blieben im vier-Poster- Schlafzimmer, das geräumig, geschmackvoll eingerichtet und perfekt ausgewogenen Komfort mit einem Touch von Luxus war. Es bot auch schöne Aussichten über den Garten.
Unsere Gastgeber waren außerordentlich willkommen und freundlich, lieferten ein engagierendes Gespräch sowie hilfreiche lokale Empfehlungen. Alles wurde bei der Ankunft klar erklärt, so dass die gesamte Erfahrung von Anfang an reibungslos und ohne Mühe gemacht wurde.
Das Frühstück war sowohl lecker als auch großzügig in einem Teil. Zusätzlich gibt es ein charmantes Dorfpub nur einen kurzen Spaziergang entfernt Das Boot & Shoe Inn , das zu der Erfahrung hinzugefügt.
Wir empfehlen dieses Eigentums allen, die einen entspannten und nützlichen Aufenthalt suchen.
