View from the hotel is really nice as you see the alps covered in snow during winter. Location is great too, it is just 5mins from echigo yuzawa station. However, i wish that their room heater can be stronger, other than that, it is a perfect stay for that budget.

Tabataya is a 100+ years family run rest house for skiing/snowboarding at myoko suginohara! The host only speaks Japanese but they are very warm and helpful nonetheless. Ski passes can be bought from them at a discount. I brought my own snowboard so I dont know about rentals. We used yamato transport to courier the boards to and fro the airport and tabataya. The host helped us with arranging the return courier to airport 😊. Although it was slightly pricey but there was value for what we paid. Meals are available at a fixed price of about 3500yen and the chef decides the menu! Although the bathrooms are shared, they are very very clean. Lastly, it is worth noting that the nearby Asakusa onsen ski resort will have more food options and night skiing compared to suginohara. It's my first time experiencing Japow and im glad Myoko is part of this experience 😊 (one of the longest and widest beginner runs)

Es ist ein chinesisches Hotel, das von einem chinesischen Paar geleitet wird. Die Hoteleinrichtungen sind komplett, das Restaurant bietet eine Frühstücksauswahl. Im Schlafzimmer gibt es einen Badewanne. Wenn der Ski zurückkommt, ist es gut, dass der Ski ist. Sie sind auch für die Schneeplatzübertragung verantwortlich, das ist besonders bequem. Der Chef war sehr aufmerksam und der Chef war sehr warm. Die Angelegenheit hatte eine Antwort. Sehr verantwortlich. In diesem halben Monat habe ich was gewöhnt, den Chef zu helfen. Vielen Dank für die Pflege seit dieser Zeit 🙏🏻 Ich lebe in einem Maiszimmer, das alle Wetter in diesem halben Monat aus seinem Fenster ☀️ ausschaltet. In einem halben Monat traf ich neue Leute und schloss neue Ziele. Alle waren gut. Ein halbes Monat, nicht sehr kurz, der Football ist eine gute Erinnerung. Eine Wahl, ein Teil. Nächstes Mal wieder ins Casino, wird es meine erste Wahl sein.

If I had the opportunity, I would come here every year. Some places get better over time and Silver Otawa is one of them. Run for over 40 years, it is a joy to see 3 generations of the family working side by side to make guests stay here so welcoming. My son and I used it as our base for a week of skiing in the myokogen area. Every day we were ferried (complimentarily) to a different ski field. In addition to accommodation and transport, Silver Otawa also rented us ski equipment (so no need to go anywhere else for that!) and we also enjoyed breakfast and dinner there every day - all for a very reasonable price (their multi course dinner was just 2500 yen per person!). Accommodation was spotless clean and service warm, friendly and super professional. I would have no recommendation to recommend you stay at Silver Otawa. Amazing place and true value for money.

Eigentlich ist das Hotel nicht schlecht, es war nur die Reaktion der verantwortlichen Person, die unsere Erfahrung verdorben hat! 😔 ❌Wir hatten ein Vierbettzimmer gebucht (für zwei Personen extra bezahlt), aber sie gaben uns nur ein Einzelbett. Sie halfen uns bei der Koordination nicht und bestanden darauf, dass wir uns an den Reise-Kundenservice wenden. Nach vielen Schwierigkeiten/Kommunikationen, Sie gaben uns endlich das Bett, das wir haben sollten. Etwas, das wir ... Dadurch haben wir 2 Stunden Skizeit verloren! ❌Das Türschloss ist kaputt, daher muss ich das Zimmer wechseln, was wieder Zeitverschwendung ist ❌Der Schlüsselcode ist nutzlos, jedes Zimmer hat den gleichen Code ❌Das Bild zeigt einen Bettrahmen, aber es ist eigentlich ein Tatami Alles ist in Ordnung, bis auf das Problem mit der verantwortlichen Person: 👍Die sanitären Anlagen sind sehr gut. Obwohl es sich um ein öffentliches Badezimmer und WC handelt, ist es sehr sauber. 👍Es gibt einen Wasserspender und eine Mikrowelle 👍Die Tante, die das Hotel leitet, ist sehr nett und wird uns geduldig helfen 👍Es gibt einen Trockenraum für Schneeausrüstung 👍Das Skigebiet ist zu Fuß in nur 2-3 Minuten zu erreichen 👍Das Zimmer hat einen kleinen Balkon mit schöner Aussicht ⚠️Die Raumheizung ist von 17:00 bis 10:00 Uhr verfügbar ⚠️Keine Bademäntel oder Handtücher, Sie müssen Ihre eigenen mitbringen

Ich war das erste Mal, dass ich hier war. Das Gebäude scheint nicht neu zu sein, aber von der Einfahrt können Sie die historische Atmosphäre aller Dinge fühlen. Der Korridor ist sehr lang, die Versammlungshalle sind sehr viel, so dass es ein Gebäude ist, das mich sehr belastet hat. Das Maiszimmer ist sehr sauber, ich kann komfortabel leben, aber ich mache mir Sorgen um das Fernsehen sehr klein. Ich bin am Morgen in den empfohlenen Freiluft-Baum betreten, aber die Atmosphäre ist sehr gut, das warme Wasser ist sehr komfortabel und die Haut ist den ganzen Tag glatt nach dem Waschen. Das Frühstückszentrum ist auch sehr modisch, es gibt viele ausgezeichnete Lebensmittel, sehr lecker. Ein anderer, der mit mir zusammen ist, ist froh, das nächste Mal wieder hier zu leben. Ich ließ mich zum Abflug aufhalten, aber ich hatte eine sehr schöne Zeit. Danke.

This place is just 5 minutes away from ishiuchi maruyama ski gondola. Great value place to stay which is easily bookable. Owner provided transfer to and from echigo yuzawa station. Very friendly and even helped to carry the heavy luggage up the car and to our room. No lift access which is very common in smaller places like these. Two private bathhouse available for sharing. Rental price is great and he took great effort in ensuring fit. Also discounted gondola prices available. Breakfast was delicious which was included too. Overall owner and his wife are very warm to all the customers. Would stay here again!

The owner was friendly, kind and helpful.  My room in the guesthouse was private and secluded from all other rooms and was equipped with a fridge, kettle and toaster oven.  Unfortunately, the temperature dipped below 10C one night and the room was not heated.

The house is a traditional Japanese building and looks rather like a museum than a hotel. Some facilities are run down and repairs are overdue. However the owner and his wife are very friendly and helpful, they even drove us to the ferry terminal, although we didn't ask for.

I really enjoyed my stay! The host was super friendly and made the whole experience even better. The place is about a 15-minute drive from the city center, so it’s not right in the middle of things, but the amazing view totally makes up for it. It’s such a nice spot to chill and take in the scenery. Plus, the WiFi was really fast, which was a big win for me. Would definitely stay here again!
