Hi , YHA Fremantle Prison, Wow! What an amazing experience and im so glad i stayed here, and thankyou so much for being so accommadting and understanding , and well for letting me book with late notice and guided me to after hours checkin, and well the guy who was working after hours on the 31st May Sunday night,...... 💯👌🙏❤️ so welcoming and was down to earth, and made me feel good about the whole.stay and just a very calming presence and over the phone also , very understanding and reassured me to not stress and be safe and to get here when i get here. He was thankful i got there at reasonable hour, cosidering it was after 9pm , was travelling from the city and through the storm so it was 10.30pm maybe a little after 10.45pm,...... and so he was very grateful but very good about me being a late check in , as i rang to make sure i was able to stay without a passport. I.was very happy to find that i could book without passport 🙏🥹💯❤️👌 I had the best night sleep, the best shower before bed, the facilities were amazing and the whole experience was beyond my expectations and exceeded all my thoughts of what was to be. I cant thank you guys enough! I will be back! Im staying longer next time so i can explore the Fremantle Prison as i have wanted to now for many.of years and the canal tour also ive wanted.to always do. The grounds, the care , the information on history , on every wall, evey building, everything was to standard and presentation that was 11/10 👌💯 brillant! I am and was well impressed! And cant wait to stay again and with a little more pre planning and booking earlier on and having a bit more a plan next trip. As my stay at YHA was very last minute , and because i missed my TransWA bus back to Kojonup.....😏 And well my decision to go up to Perth was very last minute and decision made only 2 days prior to going , and so as it was last minute decision and well i had an idea of a plan of where and who to see while up there, as being last minute things always dont go to plan and so when those moments happened i just rolled with the punches and went with the flow of things, and trusted my gut instinct and trusted my journey and the journey in life i am and well was on while in Perth and so all roads had led me to where i was meant to be , and well all fell into plaxe and worked out in the end and so im grateful beyond words! Truely and honestly 🥹🙏❤️💯😊 Thanks again , and wow amazing stay! And highly recommend! Thankyou so much for the feeling of saftey also being a single female traveller on her own. I’ve stayed in fair few budget and mid-range hostels, and overall, Cable Beach Backpackers has a really good vibe. The Good Stuff: • Its a perfect Location. Literally walking distance to Cable Beach, restaurants, and bars. There’s also a bus stop right outside that heads into town every 20 minutes, which was a lifesaver. • The staff are so welcoming and easy to chat with. The little on-site bar has great prices, and the outdoor area is awesome—heaps of undercover seating and a brilliant hammock zone. The kitchen is also massive with plenty of room to cook and store your food. • Having good Wi-Fi was amazing, especially since mobile network coverage can be pretty patchy around the area. • I felt completely safe the entire time. I never worried about my personal safety or my belongings, which is always a huge relief when backpacking. The Not-So-Good Stuff (Just being honest): • I was in a 4-person dorm. It’s pretty basic (two bunks and a clothes rack) and felt super cramped once everyone brought their bags in. The biggest issue was airflow. The window wouldn’t open, so even with the ceiling fan and two portable fans blasting, it got really stuffy and stinky. The only way to get fresh air was leaving the main door wide open. While I felt safe enough to do this, it’s still not ideal for privacy or keeping the bugs out. Putting flyscreens on the doors could fix this! • I didn't see any lockers in the room for safely locking away small valuables. If they do have them and I just missed them, it would be great to have them highlighted at check-in, otherwise adding some would be a great upgrade. • There are noise restrictions after 10 PM, but people were still talking loudly, playing music and making noise late into the night every evening. Also, a lot of guests didn't clean up after themselves, so the shared tables and bathrooms were pretty messy a lot of the time. People also ignored the designated smoking areas. Overall, the location, Wi-Fi, and staff are top-notch, and it feels like a very safe spot to stay. I know you get what you pay for but it could still do with a little bit of a reno and better upkeep to stop the shared spaces from getting messy.

Der Ort ist alt und etwas veraltet, und Sie hören den Verkehr von der Autobahn. Aber für die Kosten für die Nacht, die $120, insgesamt, es war gut für Geld. Als ich zuerst angekommen war, wie es nach Stunden war, befasste ich mich mit dem Pflegepersonal, der freundlich war, und half mir auch in mein Zimmer, denn ich hatte Probleme mit dem Türverschluss, was meine Schuld war! Ich habe die Kücheneinrichtungen nicht verwendet, außer dem Kühlschrank, aber die Küche war mit genügend Artikel ausgestattet, um ein Essen leicht zu kochen. Bad war gut, mit Dusche über Bad, (und auch großes Bad), so mit keinem Bad zu Hause, ich habe für älter gesiegt! Ich wurde vor der Ankunft informiert, dass nur Mini-Seife und Toilettenpapier geliefert wurde, so dass ich wusste, dass ich Körperwasch, Haarkonditionierer und andere Toiletten. Bett war komfortabel, und das Schlafzimmer ist ziemlich groß. Das Fernsehen war vielleicht ein bisschen klein, aber das Zimmer hatte ein paar Kleiderschranke, und einige Hänge für Kleidung. Der Ort war ziemlich sauber, beachtens dass es eine ältere Eigenschaft ist. Check out war einfach, und ich wurde von einem freundlichen Empfänger hinter dem Büro getroffen. Ich würde sicherlich nochmal bleiben, wenn der Preis so gut wäre, würde ich nur einige Ohrschleifen für Schlaf bringen, Kosten von Verkehrslärm, das ist natürlich keine Schuld der Wohnungen!

Great location walking distance from Perth train station. Hostel is staffed 24/7 with day storage for luggage and a huge communal space where you can chill and hang out. Nearby cafes, food, convenience store, post office etc. Very walkable to the main city area and Northbridge. Close to blue CAT bus stop just outside WA Museum. They have a basic kitchen (no stove) with air fryers, microwaves, and kettles and fridge space to store your food but is often crowded during meal times. There is a bar that offer drinks and simple meals within the premises. We had a private twin room with ensuite bathroom, space is good enough for two. Excellent housekeeping, very clean. You can request for a hairdryer if you need, Kudos to reception Eddie who has been very helpful with tourists tips and suggestions. Our second stay here and will highly recommend for tourists on short stays. There are a good mix of tourists and long stayers with the dormitories, I believe.

Cons: parking a bit limited, unsecure. Elevator is functional but a bit scary for my partner. A microwave or similar would have been nice? Or even just cutlery? In places, property is showing age but within reason. Noise through floors/walls from other guests, even closing doors a floor above is very audible let alone TV/etc Shower head needed descaling and was a bit erratic Pros: On beachfront, although our view was a bit obstructed. Dining next door has always been excellent, great food. Room was large, functional, and quite clean and pleasant. Bed was comfortable, pillows pleasant and linen clean. Check in and out was easy and simple. Overall, I'd stay here again and plan to book a room again in December. Our 2 nights here were great, and watching the water from our table having dinner in the rain was fantastic. If you're expecting a 5-star resort, you'll be dissapointed. If you want a clean, large, comfortable room, in a good location and easy access to good food (recommend the fish and chip shop 5 mins away), and just a pleasant beach front stay? Book here.

Great 2 nights stay in this hotel. The check in process was easy and they served us well. As the hotel designed like heritage style, we can experience the old-timer environment. It's a shared bathroom, and it would be better if the hotel equips more lights, especially during night time. They do have a private customer parking spot which is great and convenience. Overall, we have a pleasant stay in this hotel

A nice hostel not too far from Perth city center. Good things I liked: - Comfortable mattress, with a small curtain for a little privacy - Staffs were nice and helpful - common areas, kitchen, and showers/toilets were cleaned daily - Plus point: Breakfast included (simple toasts with peanut butter/Jam/choc spread) - Free coffee and tea (not the best quality but ok) - near bus stop and grocery (Woolworths) Not so good things: - rooms are quite cramped - no signage outside, bit confusing & hard to find for first timers - Most of the furniture and kitchen facilities are quite old - front porch & yard seems messy & unaesthetic - Price-to-quality ratio: ok The free breakfast, nice & helpful staff, kitchen space and social areas make this hostel recommendable. However, needs for hostel signage & revamping of all spaces & furnitures would make it a highly recommended hostel.

It's a hostel with private room with shared bathroom. We can self check-in and they'll provide a fresh sheet and quilt. For a towel, we should ask first and they'll provide. The location is amazing and accessible with Transperth Buses. The hostel also has a massive shared kitchen with complete utensils. Will be back again.

Good place to stop for a night if you’re doing the Perth to Wave Rock roadtrip. Motel is located in a peaceful small town called Kondinin. Servo is just right outside the motel.
