We booked a room here on our honeymoon tour around Scotland and it turned out to be the best hotel we stayed at in the country. Not only did the staff work so professionally, they were also so personable. As a treat for our honeymoon, the staff gave us a gift of chocolates in our room when we arrived with a honeymoon card, as well as a dessert when dining in the restaurant. The restaurant was one of our highlights, if you are staying in the hotel do not miss it. The food was delicious, very well seasoned, and presented beautifully. Moreover, the staff in the restaurant were also so helpful, giving suggestions and recommendations and giving attention to us without being overbearing. The room looked out over the lawn with the towns cathedral in the distance. There was both a bath and a shower, the television was modern with a clean image, there were plenty of free coffees, teas and snacks in the room, and the bed was very comfy indeed. Don’t miss breakfast! The great food from the dinner in the restaurant remains during breakfast time too! I will be returning. This is a very special hotel.

Ein gutes Zimmer und gut wert es Geld (verglichen mit den Preisen, die Sie für eine Unterkunft in Edinburgh zahlen müssen)! Wir hatten unsere eigene Kettle, Tee und Kaffee in unserem Zimmer, auch das Frühstück und das Restaurant war großartig! Der einzige Fehler war, dass es so weit vom Stadtzentrum entfernt war und es nicht viele Busse in der Nähe der Unterkunft halten, ich hätte das besser untersucht. Neben dem, dass wir einen erstaunlichen Aufenthalt hatten und ich kann diesen Ort empfehlen!

The location of the hotel is perfect for those who travel by train. Stuff do not mind to give me me the new room as the first provided room smells a little weird, making me and my friend feel uncomfortable. I have never seen any hotel using the heater for the towels. I like it

It was a lovely stop over on the way to the highlands and was dog friendly which was excellent, the staff were all very friendly and helpful, it was in a beautiful location , highly recommended

Easy to find, free parking, good stay as a stop along our route to Glencoe. Friendly service, decent food. Shower pressure not great though, it's ok. Nice bed.

Absolutely love our one night stay at Altskeith House. Very welcoming hosts, beautiful location, clean, comfortable and delicious food. Highly recommended.
