I had a wonderful stay at Smile Hotel Nagano. The staff were extremely polite, helpful, and welcoming, which made my experience very comfortable from check-in to check-out. The ambience of the hotel is pleasant and relaxing, and everything was well maintained and clean. The services were smooth and efficient, and I truly appreciated the attention to guest comfort. Overall, it was a great stay, and I would definitely recommend Smile Hotel Nagano to anyone visiting the city. I would love to stay here again!

1. Parking - Parking is behind the hotel, and they will check your booking and give you a parking chit (駐車券). The person manning the parking situation doesn't inform you beforehand that you have to bring this chit to the lobby for check in. We left it on the dashboard as we thought it indicates that we can park here. If you're travelling with alot of baggage, it can get pretty inconvenient as you will have to walk one round around the hotel for accessible routes to avoid a flight of stairs. 2. Check in procedure - 三條-san was helping us with the check in. Did not feel welcomed, and everything just felt routined and mechanical. This was still acceptable. When it came to asking for the parking chit, we said we left it on the dashboard and whether we could return later to show it to him. We were really not informed that we had to bring it to the reception. 三條-san's face immediately showed a face of disgust and annoyance, and he mildly rolled his eyes too in displeasure. My partner immediately ran to the car to get it for him there and then. This was pretty shocking to me as I did not expect Japanese hospitality to be this rude and nobody mentioned to us to bring the chit to the reception. He could have been more patient and handled it more professionally. We were also unaware at the time of making a hotel reservation that you have to book a breakfast slot at the time of your check in. We checked in at around 7pm, and we were only left with the 6am or 6:30am breakfast slot. This felt very restrictive as everyone has different waking habits or plans for the next day (Felt like we were back in school). You were also restricted to 50 minutes duration at breakfast. Having to change my plan entirely just because of this restriction felt ridiculous. Would I get a refund of the cost of the breakfast if I can't make it for any of the breakfast timings? If this was made known at the point of the hotel reservation, I might have reconsidered as the slots for the more human timings seem to get snatched up really quickly. All in all, the check in progress was pleasant and 三條-san was a huge reason for it. I will recommend future visitors to avoid him if you see that there are other staff manning the reception desk. 3. The J floor rooms were lovely. Clean, decent size, filled with amenities and complimentary drinks even those in the fridge. The hotel room itself was lovely compared to what happened in the lobby. 4. Breakfast - Despite being left with the ridiculously early breakfast slots, breakfast spread was great. Wide range of food and if you get a window seat, you have a good view of the city.

Im Raum neben dem Aufzug standen Annehmlichkeiten zur Verfügung, sodass ich alles mitbringen konnte, was ich brauchte. Eine Sache, die ich hervorheben möchte, ist die Holzzahnbürste. Ich war beeindruckt, wie angenehm es zu verwenden war und wie es sich in meinem Mund anfühlte, was es zu einem wunderbaren Produkt machte. Über das Zimmer Das Zimmer war groß, aber es wurde viel Platz verschwendet und es fühlte sich insgesamt sehr feucht an. Der Boden war mit Teppich ausgelegt, aber er war so feucht, dass ich mich ohne Hausschuhe unwohl fühlte. Das Bett war bequem, aber ich machte mir auch Sorgen wegen der Luftfeuchtigkeit. Über die Zimmerreinigung Diesmal blieb ich drei aufeinanderfolgende Nächte, aber das Zimmer wurde nicht gereinigt und Badetücher, Handtücher, Toilettenpapier, Yukata usw. wurden vor der Tür zurückgelassen. Ich denke, sie können es für Sie reinigen, wenn Sie danach fragen. Über heiße Quellen Es gab eine heiße Quelle im 3. Stock und es war wunderbar. Es liegt 5 Autominuten vom Autobahnkreuz Nagano entfernt und ist meiner Meinung nach ein sehr praktischer Standort für diejenigen, die es als Basis nutzen und mit dem Auto anreisen.

I reserved this hotel due to its location and had a really good experience staying here. It’s less than a 5-minute walk from Matsumoto Station. We arrived quite early, a few hours before check-in time, and were able to store our luggage. The check-in itself was smooth. The front desk staff handed over and explained a leaflet containing concise information about the hotel’s facilities and services. Also, our luggage had already been placed in our room—a nice gesture from the staff. The room we reserved was relatively small, but clean and tidy, with enough space to open two 22” suitcases and arrange our belongings. As for everything else, we had what we needed, and I slept comfortably. The facilities and amenities were pretty much as advertised in the Services & Amenities section. I especially enjoyed the public bath (there’s a free ice pop as well), as well as the designated smoking area. The breakfast tasted good. They offer a Japanese set meal, along with a buffet-style selection of rice, side dishes, and drinks, which provided a nice variety.

Dieses Hotel ist ein Muss in Nagano bleiben. Für uns das beste Hotel, das wir in unserer japanischen Reise geblieben haben. Das Zimmer ist sehr geräumig im Vergleich zu japanischen Hotelzimmern und es ist nur 5-8 Minuten vom Bahnhof Nagano entfernt. Das Frühstück ist großartig mit schönen Bergblicken. Sie haben eine große Ausstattung. Wird sicher wieder aufhören, wenn wir wieder nach NagNo kommen.

Ich habe dieses Hotel für einen Familienausflug genutzt. Der Ausblick bei Nacht war wunderschön und das Zimmer komfortabel. Obwohl es etwas weit vom Bahnhof Nagano entfernt liegt, war die Anreise mit dem Shuttlebus sehr bequem. Auch der Zenkoji-Tempel war gut zu erreichen, was den Ausflug zu einem rundum gelungenen Erlebnis machte. Ich würde dieses Hotel bei meinem nächsten Besuch in Nagano auf jeden Fall wieder buchen.

Dieses Hotel ist eine ausgezeichnete Wahl, wenn Sie in Nagano bleiben. Die Lage ist absolut unschlagbar, nur einen kurzen Spaziergang vom Bahnhof Nagano, bietet uns sauberen Zugang zu lokalen Verkehrsmitteln, Restaurants und Komfortgeschäften. Das Zimmer war platzfrei sauber, gut ‑gepflegt und ruhig im gesamten Aufenthalt, mit kompletten Einrichtungen und komfortablen Betten. Das Personal war warm, polit und sehr effizient, bietet einen gewissen Service einschließlich sicherer Gepäcklagerung. Das Frühstück hatte eine Vielzahl von Optionen mit leckeren lokalen Spezialitäten, frischem Zutaten und ausgewogenen Auswahlmöglichkeiten. Insgesamt ist es ein hochwertiges ‑, praktisches und hoch empfohlenes Hotel für Freizeit- und Sehenswürdigkeiten in Nagano.

Ich habe mich entschieden, für zwei Nächte im Hotel NewNagano Next aufgrund seiner sehr günstigen Lage zu bleiben. Nagano Station ist nur wenige hundert Meter entfernt und es gibt viele Mahlzeiten (sowohl Restaurants als auch Konbinis) in der Umgebung. Am Tag der Abreise verließen wir vor dem Besuch des Schlosses Matsumoto vor der Abreise nach Tokio unsere Gepäckstücke vorläufig in die Freischranken im Hotellobby.

Spacious with four bedrooms (1 being tatami room). The location was convenient and Karuizawa is a lovely town. The breakfast was good. Fresh bread and juice etc. Hotpot dinner included meal cuts like bacon not very suitable for shabu shabu) and the pot used was tiny for our group, we had to take turns to boil food. Could be improved.
