Lovely place to visit, central to everything. We requested a room overlooking the lake which we got, and the room was very quiet. No noise for above thankfully. Only downside was the window wouldn’t open and the pillow were too soft (I sound like Goldilocks!). Brekki was lovely, lots of choice. Would defo come again (that was our 2nd visit).

Get beyond the check-in area and the majesty of this hotel becomes apparent. Fabulous architecture unspoiled by ill advised modernisation. There is refurbishment of the bedrooms underway and my stay on the third floor was in a refurbished room. It was impressive in an understated way retaining some rare original features whilst featuring a state of the art bathroom. Neither too hot nor too cold. Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was adequate with nothing to complain about. I will stay there again.

Ein Hotel ohne Lichtblicke, das sagt, dass das Alte nicht alt und das Neue nicht neu ist. Der kleine Milchbeutel zum Teetrinken im Zimmer wurde vom letzten Gast geöffnet, aber nicht gereinigt und für mich aufbewahrt. Das Frühstück ist sehr einfach, das englische Frühstück ist ein bisschen einfach und es gibt wenige andere Möglichkeiten, und es ist den Preis von mehr als 2.000 nicht wert.

Great location for the theatre and right in the centre of things. Loved the valet parking too which saved time fighting the parking apps - £20 per stray. Immaculate hotel, great furnishings and everything you could possibly need for a great breakfast. All the staff are super friendly and professional - I highly recommend this hotel.

Wow what a find! Really cool hotel. Bedrooms were huge and well appointed. Bar and restaurant were really good, great service from Staff and really lovely breakfast available. Hotel was a rum warehouse previously and the concierge (Michael/martin .. sorry I can’t remember his name) went out of his way to tell us about the hotel and its famous staircase and about the history of the area. I’d wholeheartedly recommend. Finishing touch was very reasonably priced on site parking.

For just £46 — and let's be real, saved a solid chunk thanks to those Trip.com coins — this little spot delivered way more than I expected for a city break. The location? **Perfect.** Right in the heart of the Ropewalks district, which means you're steps away from some of the coziest bars, indie eateries, and amazing street art. I came for a quick solo adventure, and being so close to everything made it super easy to explore without wasting time on transport. I stayed **Monday, August 11 to Tuesday, August 12, 2025** — just one night — and check-in after 3 PM was smooth. No waiting, no hassle. Check-out before 11 AM was equally chill. The room itself was modern, comfy, and spotlessly clean — exactly what I needed. Not five-star fancy, but everything worked, it felt cared for, and I actually got a great night's sleep. One thing I really appreciated? **The transparency.** The bulk was paid upfront, and I only had to hand over £2.40 on-site — no surprise fees. Plus, knowing Trip.com backs it with a price match and stay guarantee gave me peace of mind. Loved that I could message or call the hotel directly through the app, and the ”Manage Booking” feature made the whole process feel seamless. Felt like I was in control the whole time. Is this a resort with a spa and champagne service? Nope. But it's not pretending to be. Location & car park 🚗: This hotel is in a central location and can be accessed from the road that leads in and out of St Helens. There is a car park with lots of spaces. It is free for guests but make sure you register your registration using the touchscreen in the reception area. Room 🛏: The room was a decent size and had tea and coffee making facilities. The bed is comfortable although the pillows were a bit soft for me. The air conditioning worked really well which is always a positive ❄️. The room had everything you'd expect: TV, fridge, safe, iron etc. The room was totally silent and I couldn't hear any noise from outside. Restaurant 🍽: I only accessed the restaurant for breakfast which was a buffet with hot and cold choices. Not the most extensive menu options but the hot food was cooked very well, was warm and fresh and if you like a cooked breakfast is worth paying for.

Die Lage des Hotels, wo wir hingehen mussten, war ausgezeichnet. Dies umfasst den offenen Top-Bus, Echo Arena, die Stadt mit Pubs, Restaurants, etc. und Transport. Das Personal war freundlich und hilfsbereit. Nichts war zu viel für sie. Unser Zimmer war spotless. Die Dusche war ein großer Spaziergang mit Shampoo, Klimaanlage und Körperwaschbecken. Wir werden hier sicherlich nochmal bleiben und es an Freunde und Familie empfehlen.
