Das Lato Hotel steht direkt am Hafen und ist vom Style modern eingerichtet auf wenn das Hotel schon etwas älter sein müsste (zu sehen am Aufzug der aber tadellos seinen Dienst verrichtet). Da das Hotel mitten in Heraklion liegt, ist die Parksituation schwierig, das Hotel hat aber eigene Parkplätze am Hafen (P1). Die Zimmer sind gross, modern eingerichtet und sauber. Da Heraklion regen Flugverkehr hat und das Hotel auch in der Ausflug-Schneise liegt hatte ich bedenken ob man hier zur Ruhe kommen kann. Ja kann man! Wir haben davon nichts mitbekommen und konnten sehr gut schlafen! Im 4. Stock gibt es übrigens noch ein Restaurant mit einer offenen Dachterasse wo man noch bis 23:00 Uhr etwas leckeres - auch vegetarisches - zu essen bestellen kann. Die Mitarbeiter sind im ganzen Hotel sehr freundlich. Wir hatten ein kleines Missverständnis bzgl des oä. Parkplatzes das aber mit der Hotelleitung sehr gut gelöst wurde. Nach den Motto: Wir kümmern uns darum, geniessen Sie Ihren Aufenthalt. Grosses Lob dafür! Das Frühstück ist sehr reichhaltig und bot auch einige Leckereien die ich nicht erwartet hätte. Der grosse Frühstücksraum ist angenehm eingerichtet und hat ein schönes Ambiente. Bedingt durch Corona ist das Dampfbad leider geschlossen gewesen deswegen kann ich zum SPA Bereich des Lato leider wenig sagen.

Das Hotel ist sehr gut, aber es ist sehr gut. Die Lebensmittelbuffets waren angemessen, vor allem im Vergleich zu einigen aller inklusiven Hotels, und haben Sie immer zufrieden und voll. Wir haben auch mit dem Restaurant auf der Website gebucht (das ist in der All inclusive enthalten) und ich würde es 8/10 schätzen. Obwohl wir nie zu einer Show gingen, war das Animationsteam, das um den Pool blieb, hilfreich und machte immer die Zeit, mit Ihnen zu reden und Ihnen einen guten Morgen wünschen. Es gibt 3 verschiedene Pools (eine mit einer Schwimmbar) Sie können gehen und wir haben nie gekämpft, ein Sonnenbett zu bekommen (jedoch gingen wir Ende Oktober) und es gibt viele Einrichtungen und Aktivitäten auf der Website, um Sie unterhaltsam zu halten. Es gibt einen kleinen privaten Strand für die Hotelbewohner mit einer Bar zu begleiten (dieser Bar ist jedoch nicht mit dem All inclusive enthalten). Es gibt auch Wassersport auf der Straße, die auch sehr schön waren und wir konnten unser eigenes Boot für eine Stunde zu vermieten für €75. Ich empfehle auch die Little Train Tours mit Michalis. Wir genossen jede Sekunde mit ihm und machten beide Touren, die wir so sehr mögen! Insgesamt würde ich dieses Hotel 100% empfehlen! Das einzige, was mich davon überrascht hat, war der Safe 3 € pro Nacht und das wurde nicht erwähnt, als wir reservierten - vor allem, wenn wir auch eine unerwartete Touristensteuer bei der Ankunft erhalten. Auch, obwohl wir einen Blick auf das Meer (leicht) bekamen, war dies meist durch Bäume so wenig getroffen enttäuschend, dass wir dafür extra zahlen. Es hätte als Meer gesichtet werden sollen.

Das Resort verfügt über eine magische Atmosphäre und eine sehr schöne Lage, voller verschiedener Blumen und Pflanzen sowie einen wunderschönen Strand. Ein perfekter Ort, um sich zu entspannen und zu genießen! Aber was dieses Hotel so besonders macht, ist das zufriedene Team ✨ Ich möchte meinen herzlichen Dank an das ganze Team ausdehnen, um sicherzustellen, dass mein Aufenthalt wunderbar und komfortabel war! Ein besonderer Kommentar an Herrn Alex vom Restaurant a la carte. Zusammen mit seinem Sternteam überstiegen sie wirklich die Erwartungen. Die kulinarischen Freude, von den Hauptkursen bis zu Desserten und Getränken, waren nicht nur von höchster Qualität, sondern auch tanalisierend lecker und schön dargestellt. TLDR; very cozy and chill beach & pool getaway if you just wanna take it easy in a home like environment. my initial (and final) reaction was that the photos don’t do justice to the place. based on pictures i expected something less nice and more worn out. i agree not everything was brand new and sparkly but overall fine and what you’d expect from a local greek b&b. our apartment was very spacious (50m2?) and in good condition, with a balcony (view of the sea between buildings) and a small modern-ish bathroom. nice kitchen with a table. the hotel is a bit like labyrinth but not in a bad way, it allows every apartment to have its own entrance and balconies that are not next to each other. importantly our apartment was very quiet, we had a good sleep until 11-12am. the aircon is only enough for the bedroom so the rest of the apartment is warm but that was ok for us. the aircon is also quiet. very nice owners, they make you feel like home. even brought a drying rack to our balcony which was useful. the pool temperature in july was around 27-29c, in other words very nice and comfy. u can move the poolside chairs around to get shade under the trees, i enjoyed the peace & quiet, perfect for reading and chilling. wasnt busy in mid july. there is s bit more yard space than shown in the photos. you can get drinks from the bar which is by the reception and enjoy them by the pool. cocktails were 4euros and wine 2 euros per glass. we were supposed to go on excursions but ended up chilling by the pool as it was so easy and relaxing. the beach on the other side of the road is practical too. there are good restaurants and shops nearby, even the highest rated restaurant of a rethymno is 3-4min walk away (Nostos). next door Solti has great brunch/lunch options. the other guests during our stay were Dutch 30-50 yr old couples or families (no small kids). if i must look at negatives as i always do, sure its not dashing new and the pool is small. based on my research tho there are no bigger pools in the area, only more expensive ones and/or ones with very little shade. the old town is a 25min walk so not something to do every day perhaps. still, this is one of my few 5 star places (price-quality ratio considered).

Alles war mehr als perfekt. Wir hatten eine kleine Überklassifizierung, eine nette Geste. Das Hotel ist gut gelegen, die Zimmer (Wohnung) sind groß, sehr sauber und sehr gut ausgestattet. Im vierten Stock ist keine Sorge um die Straßen in der Schleuse. Idem mit dem Pool, der oben ist. Bar am Tag zur Verfügung. Barbecue Abend jedes Mittwoch Abend ist sehr cool. Alle Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich und kompetent. Das SPA ist perfekt, Mariana ist hyper aufmerksam und super pro. Super Aufenthalt in Ungarn 👍👍
