I cannot say enough about this Bed & Breakfast. My husband and I stayed the weekend for his birthday. When we arrived, Connie had a birthday treat waiting for him (us); such a thoughtful detail. The Inn was very clean and comfortable. After our initial tour, Connie said "Our goal is for you to feel at home, without having to do any of the work." That is exactly what it felt like. They even had bikes we could borrow to bike around the adorable little village. Connie and Gary were incredible hosts and we cannot wait until we can return again.

If you are planning a trip to Grafton, I highly recommend staying at The Green Tree Inn! The town of Elsah is so charming and rich with history. Connie and Gary are wonderful hosts! Our room was cozy and comfortable and breakfast was delicious!

Our second stay--we were welcomed like old friends and enjoyed everything. Elsah is a charming town and Connie and Gary made sure we were able to see all that there is to see this time. We enjoyed our literally private tour of the Elsah History Museum and especially the visit to the Tree House Wildlife Center. We look forward to coming back again soon!

What I expected were clean and serviceable accommodations to support the business purpose of my trip to Elsah. What I received was so much more ... Although my accommodations were certainly clean and serviceable, they were also quaint, comfortable, and relaxing—a perfect balance for three longish workdays. I rarely think about the breakfast part of staying at a B&B, but Connie made sure that the breakfast component of my stay was hot, on time, and worth remembering! Finally, I can't say enough about Gary and Connie’s warm and inviting manner that made the difference between a great visit versus merely a good stay. They are kind and caring innkeepers whose presence, engaging conversation, and concern for my comfort reminded me of what I like the most about staying at B&Bs. Rock on, Gary! My husband and I celebrated our 3rd anniversary by staying at the Green Tree Inn on Jan 29th and 30th. It was truly wonderful! Gary and Connie welcomed us at the door and took us on a tour of their lovely property; we felt right at home. They related the history of Elsah Village and of the Inn, which was very interesting. Our room was cozy and beautifully decorated. Both mornings Connie treated us to a gourmet breakfast. Starting with poached pears and then pancakes and baked eggs the first morning. The second day began with baked apples, craisins, rasins, and pecans, followed by a delicious hash brown quiche and poppy seed bread. It was absolutely scrumptious and so were the homemade cookies freshly made each day. Gary guided us on a private tour of the museum, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you Gary and Connie! Fantastic little gem with so much charm. Connie made us a gluten-free/lactose, free breakfast to accommodate our dietary restrictions, it was a fantastic breakfast! Super grateful! We will definitely be back! Thank you!

The inn is nicely decorated and makes you feel you have stepped back in time. The village is easily walkable and everything is landscaped beautifully. We really enjoyed breakfast with Gary, Connie, and the other guests and the quiche, zucchini bread, and fruit with cream were delicious!

This absolutely beautiful and impeccably kept bed and breakfast inn was a joy to stay in! This was my second opportunity to spend a night with them. You’ll want to come back too! Not only is the setting of the inn spectacular in its own right, but the owners are extremely accommodating, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. Breakfast from a gourmet cook was a delight and only equaled by the conversation! It’s my favorite place to stay in beautiful Elsah, Illinois! And if you’re anywhere in the vicinity it’s worth your time and travel to go out of your way for the experience and setting of this little gem of a bed and breakfast. Your expectations will be exceeded!

This area is in a beautiful, peaceful setting along the Mississippi River. The building is old, recently remodeled, tastefully decorated, and comfortable sleeping quarters. We were greeted upon arrival, provided a tour w all the amenities, history of the area, fresh baked cookies and drinks. Breakfast times were flexible and food was amazing!. Conversation around the fire was enjoyable! Everything about this experience was delightful. I felt the focus of Connie & Gary was to ensure our stay was memorable. Truly wonderful……and affordable!
