Great stay here. I was there for 2 weeks and ended up staying a couple extra nights. Right near la linea port and about a 10 minutes walk to Gibraltar frontier. The buffet in morning for breakfast is amazing! Staff was helpful. The only issue I had was WiFi wasn’t as great and I needed it to handle some business. Other then that perfect stay.

Wir verbringen 3 Nächte in diesem Hotel. Wir wollten Gibraltar für 2 Tage besuchen, aber das Aufenthalt dort war sehr teuer, so war dies eine günstigere Option. Mit dem Auto dauerte es uns 30 Minuten, um an der Grenze von Gibraltar zu fahren. Das Hotel sah groß aus der Außenseite aus. Wie etwas aus einem Hollywood-Film. Der Garten war auch nett. Aber es gab fast niemand. Es gab kaum Gäste dieses Jahr. Es fühlte sich, dass wir das Hotel für uns hatten. Wir mussten sogar den Schlüssel für den Innenpool am Rezeption sammeln, um die Tür zu öffnen. Innen im Hotel und im Zimmer waren nicht so groß oder gut aussehend. Besonders das Teppich sah schmutzig aus. Unser Zimmer war ok, es war geräumig, aber wir sehen nicht die 4 Sterne in ihm. Das Hotel ist nicht im Stadtzentrum, es könnte gelaufen werden, aber der Weg war dunkel. Wir verbringen eine Nacht zum Abendessen im Restaurant und das war die beste Erfahrung. Wie Frühstück war das Essen sehr gut und der Service großartig. Danke Alvaro für den persönlichen Kontakt! Wir baten um Rat auf der Rezeption und wir erhielten freundliche und gute Ratschläge. Ein gutes Plus ist die kostenlose Parkplätze für unsere Mietwagen.

I decided after Stay 1 I wouldn't mind coming back... and in truth I did return later that week. So I was a repeat customer. Positives: -offered 2 PM late checkout as IHG Platinum -rooms are quiet -price was great and I got to earn IHG points Negatives: -no conditioner provided in the shower (if you're only going to provide two bottles in the shower to save on cost, make one conditioner!) -the mattress, a Pikolin, was definitely a budget mattress for a domestic audience. In the US, that mattress would be a problem for the hotel. Very, very hard. -they should install a credit card reader for their vending machine. I know Spain is a little behind on going 100% cashless, but I saw credit card readers on vending machines elsewhere so I think they would see the benefits of doing so. -they should just charge for parking. It's ”free” as it is, but most nights I could not get a spot and had to go into the neighborhood looking for one. -AC turns off after 10 hours regardless of what you do. So if you turn it on at 8 PM for an evening, it will turn off at 6 AM while you are still asleep, waking you up in a sweaty mess.

Sehr Zentral, tolles, freundliches Personal. Kostengünstig und supersauber. Familiere Atmosphäre. Komme seit vielen Jahren hierher und hatte bisher keine Reklamationen. In der Umgebung alles Fussläufig. Hafen auf Sichtweite. Zu dem Markt sind es 5 Minuten zu Fuß.

We stayed at this hotel due to our travel plan. Did not like the experience at all. They do not recognize your GHA Discovery status and provide no benefits at all. The receptionist was very rude to us and claimed that she was tired, I told her we would like to check in and she looked at us and said ”what name?” Am I checking into a 4-star NH branded hotel or a hostal? LOL. The first room we got had strong cigarette smell and we had to ask to change the room. The food we ordered was cold and the chicken fillet was dry as if it was made in a microwave. The breakfast did not offer a lot of variety. Will not return.

I had send a request for upper floor room, specifically for a very needed quiet room for excellent sleeping quality. the rooms are spacious and the bathrooms are very good, good lighting in bathroom and sink is separately from WC. The breakfast is good with excellent coffee, the barman is kind, and professional, although he seemed to be constantly on his own in charge of the entire bar and is rushed of his feet, we waited 45min for a cup of tea in the afternoon, it wasn't his fault, he was just rushed off his feet on his own for the whole cafeteria and outdoor bar. The reception staff is helpful, and we were happy to be able to leave our cases at the reception for storage till departure. good parking at the hotel. Disliked · We did not get our requested upper floor room, although there were a lot of spare rooms free. The second floor is stinking of cigarette smoke ! even our room was still smelling of an ashtray even though it was clean. There is even a sign hanging up on the second floor that smoking is allowed ! crazy, so why did we not get a choice to stay on a NON-SMOKING floor ??The room was fairy hot and while we enjoyed the fresh breeze through the balcony door , the traffic noise was awful! all day + all night sadly . The double bed is very small if your partner is over six foot or more that 1.80m, better off booking 2 single beds . So unfortunately we had an awful night sleep. Our ”double” room was clearly catered for single use, as there was only 1 seat inside and 1 seat outside.. maybe hence the smaller double bed.. only 1 pillow was available in the room, but after finding a friendly cleaning lady, she helped us by giving 2 more. We were booking this hotel for pool relaxation and sunbathing too and were told upon arrival that the POOL IS CLOSED TILL JUNE 2023! This was never mentioned while booking and certainly a surprise while temperatures are over 25C. the main problem for us is the fact that we did not get the room we booked , paid and asked politely for, hence a bad night sleep and sick of cigarette smoke .

Wir sind ein häufiger Besucher dieses Apartmenthotels, tatsächlich sind wir sehr zufrieden mit der Behandlung an der Rezeption (Noelia ist sehr aufmerksam und professionell) und die Lage ist ausgezeichnet, nur 5 Gehminuten vom Strand entfernt. Ruhige und saubere Unterkunft! sehr empfehlenswert.

Großes Hotel mit freundlichem effizientem Personal. Sein modernes Hotel sehr nahe der Ferien. Die Zimmer sind spotless. Sehr neue Bettwäsche. Ich habe vor 2018 dort geblieben und fragte, ob sie ein Rekord des Zimmers haben könnten und sie haben es getan und gab mir das gleiche. Ich werde sicher noch einmal dort bleiben, wenn ich in Algeciras bin

Dear travellers (in particular those with canine companions), In my case a large wolf like being that I describe as my second daughter. I have worked at an executive level in customer service in both corporate and hospitality environments my entire life. It is my passion!! And as such, I expect to receive a certain standard in return when I travel to other countries. I rarely have time to leave reviews except under exceptional circumstances and one of those exceptional experiences happened at this Hotel in the last week. Furthermore, I feel that not doing so, would not only do an injustice to the Hotel Alboran and its wonderful staff, but also to anyone thinking of visiting or passing through Algeciras, in case they miss out on the opportunity for a Top Class stay at a Top Class hotel where I found what can only be described as the 'perfect' customer experience. I was finding it difficult to find pet-friendly accommodation as I made my way from Spain to Portugal on the south coast I finally came across this hotel and it's amazing staff who treated me and my best friend to a standard of genuine care I've rarely experienced anywhere else in Europe and probably the world. All the staff were amazing, without exception, however I need to explicitly thank May and Cristobel who went out of their way to make us feel very welcome and no amount of assistance was an inconvenience BUT THEN THERE WAS MARIA, the icing on the cake. Saint Maria , ☺️, combined professionalism, care and genuine empathy, love for animals and work ethic far above and beyond the call of duty, in the perfect blend of hospitality, even spending some of her personal time helping me with a very challenging matter on my upcoming travels. Her attention and dedication was relentless and seemed almost effortless. 5 stars definitely for the Alboran hotel for my stay, 10 stars if I could for the team…. but Maria, take the Milky Way number of stars and add 1. 😀 Owners/ Management of Hotel Alboran, in Maria, you have an absolute gem. She is a keeper!!! What an ambassador for your brand!! To all travelers planning a trip in the region, if you want to relax and be genuinely taken care of by a staff that work together in a wonderful team, in a luxurious and spotlessly clean environment, plan your next stay in this hotel !
