Two doormen stationed at the front entrance saw us retrieving our luggage from the cab trunk, but made no attempt to help. I had checked in a day earlier and was great full that the room was made available at 12 PM . They did tell us there was no view; I was okay with that as we are in NY regularly and at this trip it was not a priority. I haven’t stayed at this hotel in a few years, but remembered the excellent butler service and lovely accommodations, and was looking forward to it. The checkin felt like something one would expect at a Highway motel. No explanation of any services, no welcome drink, no Butler introductions, nobody accompanied you to the room or directed you to the elevator. The room had the tiniest window, with a curtain without a valance (# 1406) facing a wall a few feet away. No Natural light what so ever. The leather head rest on the bed was ripped on a couple of spots. It had only one not very comfortable lounge chair in a fairly large king room. So if you are a couple, you cannot even sit together for a cup of coffee. In the past at checkin the butler would introduce themselves, offer coffee , tea etc and make sure you were satisfied with the accommodations. We had ballet tickets for a matinee, so initially decided to just go with the flow. Went for a quick lunch at the Astor, paid around $170 for 2 ceaser salads, a bloody mary and a glass of Duvel Leroy Champagne. I have no problems paying premium prices for value , but $28 for a Bloody Mary with a celery stalk garnish and stoli vodka? They claimed to have invented it , but definitely not worth the price. When we returned back from the ballet and returned to the room , it seemed really depressing. They call it an interior room , but it could easily be in a windowless basement. We requested a room change and requested to speak to a manager. We were told the manager was downstairs and would call us back. We were going to dinner, so left the front desk our cell number. The manager ever returned the call. On our return when we requested a room change, we were told that they were completely sold out. At this point we were exhausted an decided to just let it go and returned to our room for a good nights sleep. It was around 10:30 PM, and there was a continuous loud rumbling sound. When we called the front desk , we were told that the noise was from their service elevator which was being used a lot that night as 2 of their 4 passenger elevators had been broken for a couple of days. They offered to now move us to another room. So at 11 Pm we had to get dressed and pack up to move to another room. The new room (1903), had a moldy smell. Got up next morning with a back ache as the bed was not comfortable. In the morning the moldy smell seems to have gotten even worse and I did report that. I was told it was because of air conditioning! We called the butler for coffee in the morning. The French press coffee arrived with c

The Park Lane Hotel New York

Innenstadt West New York|0.43km Entfernung von Wally Findley Galleries
I would recommend this hotel to anybody interested in visiting Manhattan and focused on staying in the vicinity of Central Park. Location and value were the two most important facets that drew us to select Park Lane for our stay. It is literally next door to much more expensive hotels like The Plaza, Ritz-Carlton, and Essex House. The hotel has entrances off of both 58th and 59th Street which comes in handy (e.g., you can use 59th St. entrance for access to Central Park and 59th & 5th Ave subway station; and you can use 58th St. entrance to get to 57th & 6th Ave. subway station, Quality Meats, Quality Italian, etc.). The hotel staff was friendly & courteous. They accommodated our early arrival and late departure and provided the level of service that one would expect of a hotel of this caliber. Our room was on the 28th floor facing south and was very quiet. There were no problems with sounds of the city or neighboring rooms. The room was well-appointed with nice but not opulent touches. Beds are low-slung (no box spring). We usually prefer box springs and a higher mattress, but these beds were still comfortable. The room did have a mini-fridge, but it was the smallest mini-fridge I have ever encountered with a capacity to fit maybe six 16-oz bottles of soda, water, etc. Still, it's nice to have since hotel provided water bottles are $5. You can get your own water at Duane Reade nearby for less than $2. We had two small complaints that we shared with Management: 1) our room's A/C unit was not very effective ... even with outdoor temps of upper-50s at night and lower-70s during daytime, it struggled to get to 73 degrees. The room felt humid & damp throughout our stay and the A/C unit ran non-stop (and was a bit noisy). Our kids slept fine but my wife and I both struggled to get a solid night's sleep due to the A/C noise, humidity, and room temperature. 2) the bathtub/shower fixtures are extremely low-pressure and have a convoluted valve system ... we never truly felt clean even after a shower. Management did offer to move us to another room; but we were not annoyed enough to want to re-pack and move. Our visit entailed a pretty active agenda all across the city, so we did not dine much at the 3 restaurants in the hotel. We did grab breakfast at Rose Lane a few mornings. They offer some quick & simple basics (cereal, pastries, yogurt, etc.). Service was prompt & friendly. We wanted to try Darling at the top of the hotel; but we opted not to based on patrons we saw in the hotel lobby and elevators who were going there ... it gave off more of a nightclub vibe than family-friendly restaurant. I'd recommend this hotel for anybody who wants to stay near Central Park but who doesn't want to spend ~$1,000/night. You may have to live with a non-perfect room (our issues may be the anomaly though), but you don't stay in a location like this to spend all of your time in your room ... you spend your time exploring the city, Central Par

Tolles! 100 loben!

Loews has very comfortable and clean rooms and a friendly and welcoming staff like no other in New York City. The hotel truly offers a home-away-from home experience with very friendly service throughout the hotel. The Regency Bar & Grill offers excellent food in a light and enjoyable setting with fantastic service. The gym is nicely equipped and a good size, with location near Central Park a plus. I return as often as I can when in the city. Sant Ambroeus Coffee Bar which operates adjacent to the hotel is great venue for coffee, and wonderfully crafted snacks, breakfast fare and pastries.

Tolles Grand Hotel mit überragendem Service! War das erste mal im The Pierre! Hatten eine tolle Suite im 39 Stock. Unfassbarer Ausblick!
