Wir liebten unseren Aufenthalt in diesem Hotel in Schottland. Perfekt für eine kurze Reise373. Ein kurzer Spaziergang zum Flughafen. Das Frühstück war so früh wie 5 Uhr bereit, was ein solcher Bonus war. Vor der Eincheckzeit angekommen und der Empfänger freundlich erlaubt uns zu prüfen früh. Alles war reibungslos und willkommen! Liebe!

Check in was easy, parking was not a problem. Food in restaurant was more finger food and more like what you’d get in a cinema. I was happy with it but hubby thought otherwise hahaha. We played pool at the lobby which had a pink table. Lots of fun before retiring for our super early flight. Room was ok for short stays. 7-10 mins walk to airport. On the whole was nice.

Der Service war wirklich außergewöhnlich. Mein erstes Aufenthalt war in Manchester, und die allgemeine Atmosphäre des Hotels war fantastisch. Mein Freund und ich genossen es wirklich. Als wir also sahen, dass diese Wohnung auch in Edinburgh verfügbar war, zögerten wir nicht, sie zu buchen.🤩Die Edinburgh Castle kann von der Einfahrt des Hotels gesehen werden, und die Straße neben dem Hotel ist auch ziemlich schön.

I stayed at Courtyard by Marriott Edinburgh from 22 February to 26 February 2026 in Room ***. Unfortunately, my experience fell significantly below the service and housekeeping standards expected of the Marriott brand. 1) 22 February 2026 (Check-in) Upon arrival, I immediately noticed several cleanliness issues with my room. The kettle was dusty and visibly dirty, the shower gel was completely empty, there were noticeable stains on the bed sheets, the shower room floor was unclean, and the shower water pressure was extremely poor. I reported these issues to the front desk on the same day. In addition, during the check-in process, the staff did not provide any information about hotel amenities, such as gym operating hours, availability of facilities like the ice machine or microwave, or other services. I only became aware of some of these facilities on my last day during check-out, which was disappointing. 2) 23 February 2026 The shampoo had run out and was not replenished during housekeeping services. I emailed the Front Office Manager regarding both the missing amenities and the ongoing low shower pressure issue. I did not receive any response. 3) 24 February 2026 The situation continued. Coffee and tea bags were not refilled, the stained bed sheets had still not been changed since Day 1 check-in, and both shampoo and conditioner were empty. I called the same Front Office Manager twice, and only shampoo was delivered. I then contacted the front desk twice more to clearly request conditioner, yet incorrect items were delivered again. As a result, the conditioner remained unreplenished for me for 3 consecutive days (22–24 February). 4) 25 February 2026 In the morning, I requested a new toothbrush through the front desk and was told housekeeping would provide one during housekeeping service. When I returned to my room after housekeeping, no toothbrush had been supplied. I later learned that when Trip.com contacted the hotel on my behalf regarding the service lapses, the Operations Manager informed them that everything had been “addressed and settled with me” which was not accurate. While individual staff members made partial attempts to assist, the repeated housekeeping lapses, lack of follow-up, and unresolved maintenance issue reflect systemic operational shortcomings rather than isolated mistakes. Throughout my entire stay (22–26 February), the shower water pressure issue remained unresolved. The hotel’s location is excellent and within walking distance of many major attractions, which helps save on public transport costs. However, good location alone does not compensate for the overall service deficiencies experienced during this stay. As a paying guest, I expected basic cleanliness, consistent replenishment of amenities, and responsive service, especially from a reputable hotel property like Marriott. Unfortunately, those expectations were not met during this stay.

Without doubt, this was one of our finest hotel stays in recent memory. From the moment we arrived, Novotel Edinburgh set the tone with a level of warmth and professionalism that genuinely stood out. The staff were incredibly helpful throughout and what really demonstrated this was a small but telling moment: we lost our key card during the stay, and it was replaced immediately, without any fuss or inconvenience whatsoever. It's the kind of effortless service that puts you completely at ease, and it's something you remember long after checkout. The breakfast deserves a special mention — it was simply top notch. The spread was so good that holding back was near impossible, and it's the kind of breakfast that makes you actually look forward to the morning. Freshly prepared, well-stocked, and served with care — it's one of the best hotel breakfasts we've had. The location is outstanding. Sitting just a mile from Edinburgh Castle, you're right in the heart of one of the most iconic cities in the UK. Public transport couldn't be more convenient either  buses are accessible right behind the hotel, making it incredibly easy to get around the city without needing a car at all. The one area that needs addressing is parking. The hotel's own car park is frequently full, which meant we had to use the nearby NCP instead. To the hotel's credit, they did provide a discount for the NCP - a thoughtful gesture that softened the inconvenience. However, it's worth noting for electric vehicle drivers: the EV charging at the NCP is painfully slow, so factor that into your plans if you're arriving in an electric car. A heads-up from the hotel at check-in would go a long way. Parking frustrations aside, Novotel Edinburgh is a brilliant base for exploring the city - exceptional staff, an unmissable breakfast, and a location that's hard to beat. We'd return without hesitation.

The room itself was nice. However during our entire visit the ground floor is under renovation so only a small cramp room for breakfast and you have to carry food back to the room. Also had requested to have the room cleaned multiple days and each time the cleaners somehow missed our room. We even left specific note to the reception to ensure our room didn’t get skipped and yet find room wasn’t cleaned. When we finally got it cleaned (on third attempt), they missed clearing the bins (was full to brim as we stayed for a few days by then and they haven’t cleaned the room since) and missed changing the sheets when we even explicitly requested for it at the reception two days in a row. In the end we didn’t manage to get the sheets changed for our entire week stay… when we asked to leave the feedback to the manager, the reception staff told us to make appointment with their manager on the next day when they visit the hotel. We were already quite upset with the service we received and yet when asked to pass on feedback of our experience to the manager we were told to carve out some time in the middle of the day during our holiday to make an appointment to deliver the message ourselves!?? Not great experience.

Verpassen Sie nicht die Gelegenheit, ein neues Kettenhotel in der Alten Welt zu entdecken! Der Service war exzellent; es wurde an alles gedacht. Sogar ein Geschenk zum Geburtstag meines Kindes wurde organisiert. Die Lage ist ideal, weniger als sechs Gehminuten vom Hauptbahnhof entfernt, sodass man bequem alles zu Fuß erreichen kann.

Das Hotel ist hundefreundlich. Im Hotel gibt es eine große Wiese für die morgendlichen und abendlichen Spaziergänge unserer Hunde. Ein Hundekotbehälter befindet sich an der Seite des Parkplatzes, was für Tierbesitzer ideal ist. Die Lage ist etwas abseits vom Stadtzentrum, aber direkt neben dem Einkaufszentrum Gyle.

Das Hotel war schön, das Bett bequem, das Rezeptionspersonal freundlich und fantastisch! Ich war von der Frühstücksauswahl sehr enttäuscht – die Eier waren verkocht und schwammen im Wasser, es war ziemlich eklig. Der Herr an den Tischen war ziemlich unhöflich. Wir fragten an der Rezeption, ob wir uns das Frühstück ansehen könnten, bevor wir uns für ein zusätzliches Frühstück entscheiden, und sie sagte, klar. Wir gingen dorthin, und dieser Herr im Service war ziemlich unhöflich und fragte, für wie viele Personen. Ich sagte ihm, dass ich noch überlege, da mein Partner auch zum Frühstück hereinkommen möchte. Meine Mutter und ich übernachteten im Zimmer, aber er war so aufdringlich und unhöflich. Er fragte nach meiner Zimmernummer. Ich gab sie ihm. Er kam zurück und sagte, es sei nicht bezahlt. Ich sagte ihm, ich wüsste, dass ich nur überlege, ob ich etwas hinzufügen möchte – wir standen abseits vom Essen und hatten keine Teller oder so, wir schrieben meinem Partner nur eine SMS, um ihn zu einer Entscheidung zu bewegen. Er war so unhöflich und sagte: „Siehst du, ich habe es dir doch gesagt, deshalb habe ich gefragt, komm mit“, und er war sehr unhöflich. Wir haben an der Bar bezahlt und uns dann hingesetzt, aber dieser Herr war der einzige unhöfliche Mann im Hotel – ehrlich gesagt würde ich dort nicht noch einmal essen! Er hat uns das ganze Erlebnis verdorben.

A Wonderful Stay – Highly Recommended! My friend and I recently had the pleasure of staying at this lovely property, and we had an excellent experience. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed with the attention to detail and the warmth of the staff. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring we both got a restful night’s sleep. What truly stood out, however, was the level of service. I was feeling a bit under the weather during our stay, and the staff went above and beyond by bringing breakfast directly to our room, which was a thoughtful and much-appreciated gesture. This level of care really goes a long way in making guests feel valued. For those who prefer to enjoy their breakfast with a bit of fresh air, the hotel also has a charming terrace where you can take your meal while soaking in the surroundings. It's the perfect way to start the day if you want to enjoy a bit of sunshine. The location is also a major plus. It’s just a short walk to the city center, making it easy to explore, and for those who prefer not to walk, a quick 5-minute bus ride will take you wherever you need to go. The lounge area at the hotel is another highlight. It’s spacious, cozy, and thoughtfully equipped with blankets to keep guests comfortable if the temperature drops. It provided the perfect spot to unwind after a day of sightseeing. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the area. The combination of comfort, thoughtful service, and a prime location makes it a top choice. We will definitely be staying here again when we return!
