Check in was easy, parking was not a problem. Food in restaurant was more finger food and more like what you’d get in a cinema. I was happy with it but hubby thought otherwise hahaha. We played pool at the lobby which had a pink table. Lots of fun before retiring for our super early flight. Room was ok for short stays. 7-10 mins walk to airport. On the whole was nice.

Tolle Lage in Grassmarket, nur wenige Gehminuten von den wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten Edinburghs entfernt. Das Apartment war frisch renoviert, gut ausgestattet und komfortabel, befand sich jedoch in einem öffentlich zugänglichen Erdgeschossbereich, sodass ich mich nicht hundertprozentig sicher fühlte.

I stayed at Courtyard by Marriott Edinburgh from 22 February to 26 February 2026 in Room ***. Unfortunately, my experience fell significantly below the service and housekeeping standards expected of the Marriott brand. 1) 22 February 2026 (Check-in) Upon arrival, I immediately noticed several cleanliness issues with my room. The kettle was dusty and visibly dirty, the shower gel was completely empty, there were noticeable stains on the bed sheets, the shower room floor was unclean, and the shower water pressure was extremely poor. I reported these issues to the front desk on the same day. In addition, during the check-in process, the staff did not provide any information about hotel amenities, such as gym operating hours, availability of facilities like the ice machine or microwave, or other services. I only became aware of some of these facilities on my last day during check-out, which was disappointing. 2) 23 February 2026 The shampoo had run out and was not replenished during housekeeping services. I emailed the Front Office Manager regarding both the missing amenities and the ongoing low shower pressure issue. I did not receive any response. 3) 24 February 2026 The situation continued. Coffee and tea bags were not refilled, the stained bed sheets had still not been changed since Day 1 check-in, and both shampoo and conditioner were empty. I called the same Front Office Manager twice, and only shampoo was delivered. I then contacted the front desk twice more to clearly request conditioner, yet incorrect items were delivered again. As a result, the conditioner remained unreplenished for me for 3 consecutive days (22–24 February). 4) 25 February 2026 In the morning, I requested a new toothbrush through the front desk and was told housekeeping would provide one during housekeeping service. When I returned to my room after housekeeping, no toothbrush had been supplied. I later learned that when Trip.com contacted the hotel on my behalf regarding the service lapses, the Operations Manager informed them that everything had been “addressed and settled with me” which was not accurate. While individual staff members made partial attempts to assist, the repeated housekeeping lapses, lack of follow-up, and unresolved maintenance issue reflect systemic operational shortcomings rather than isolated mistakes. Throughout my entire stay (22–26 February), the shower water pressure issue remained unresolved. The hotel’s location is excellent and within walking distance of many major attractions, which helps save on public transport costs. However, good location alone does not compensate for the overall service deficiencies experienced during this stay. As a paying guest, I expected basic cleanliness, consistent replenishment of amenities, and responsive service, especially from a reputable hotel property like Marriott. Unfortunately, those expectations were not met during this stay.

Ein sehr komfortables und angenehmes Zimmer zu bleiben. Was ich am meisten gefallen: ein großes Bett, Teppich, langes Sofa, viele Socken, Teeset, viele Handtücher und Hygienezubehör, Thermostat, große Fenster. Es gab jedoch eine Sache, die ich nicht wirklich bekam - die Dusche sollte nicht vollständig geschlossen werden. Es ist wie die Hälfte offen und deshalb kann etwas Wasser splashen auf das Badezimmer Fußboden. Die Lage ist ziemlich gut, es ist nicht im Zentrum, aber Sie können dort einfach in etwa 15 Minuten zu Fuß gehen. Das Frühstück war ausgezeichnet, es hatte traditionelle Notizen, aber immer noch heimlich, sehr lecker, und die Auswahl war groß. Und schließlich war der Preis akzeptabel, so kann ich das Hotel stark empfehlen:)

I visited Edinburgh over Easter, which was also my birthday, and had a wonderful stay. Magda was incredibly kind and arranged an early check-in before noon after I confirmed the day before. She also surprised me with balloons and chocolates in my room for my birthday, which was such a thoughtful touch. The staff provided clear information and gave excellent recommendations on places to visit, making my first trip to Edinburgh even more enjoyable. The hotel’s central location was perfect, close to all the main attractions, and the pool was a great bonus. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would happily visit again.

Meine Erwartungen waren nicht sehr hoch, aber ich war angenehm überrascht! Das Hotel roch wunderbar und das Personal an der Rezeption war einladend und freundlich. Eine der Mitarbeiterinnen an der Rezeption half mir, den Reißverschluss meines Kleides zu schließen, da ich nicht herankam, und tat ihr Möglichstes, um mir zu helfen. Das Frühstück war fantastisch und das Auschecken war super unkompliziert. Ich würde es sofort weiterempfehlen!

The room itself was nice. However during our entire visit the ground floor is under renovation so only a small cramp room for breakfast and you have to carry food back to the room. Also had requested to have the room cleaned multiple days and each time the cleaners somehow missed our room. We even left specific note to the reception to ensure our room didn’t get skipped and yet find room wasn’t cleaned. When we finally got it cleaned (on third attempt), they missed clearing the bins (was full to brim as we stayed for a few days by then and they haven’t cleaned the room since) and missed changing the sheets when we even explicitly requested for it at the reception two days in a row. In the end we didn’t manage to get the sheets changed for our entire week stay… when we asked to leave the feedback to the manager, the reception staff told us to make appointment with their manager on the next day when they visit the hotel. We were already quite upset with the service we received and yet when asked to pass on feedback of our experience to the manager we were told to carve out some time in the middle of the day during our holiday to make an appointment to deliver the message ourselves!?? Not great experience.

Ich habe ein Zimmer mit Kingsize-Bett zum gleichen Preis wie ein Zimmer mit Kingsize-Bett gebucht. Ich hatte das Glück, ein Zimmer mit einem Fenster mit Blick auf das Schloss zu bekommen. Es lag im 4. Stock und die Umgebung war sehr gut. Es gab 2 Flaschen kostenloses Mineralwasser und eine Kapselkaffeemaschine. Der Service war sehr gut. 👍

Die Lage des Hotels ist relativ abgelegen, aber von der Bushaltestelle zur Altstadt sind es nur 40 Meter, was den Standortmangel ausgleicht. Das Beste ist, dass es ca. 20 Minuten dauert fährt 24 Stunden am Tag, da es eine Haltestelle des Flughafenbusses ist. Machen Sie sich keine Sorgen, wenn Sie spät abends spielen. Das Schloss in der Altstadt ist schockierend! Ein Muss in Großbritannien😀😀😀

A Wonderful Stay – Highly Recommended! My friend and I recently had the pleasure of staying at this lovely property, and we had an excellent experience. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed with the attention to detail and the warmth of the staff. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring we both got a restful night’s sleep. What truly stood out, however, was the level of service. I was feeling a bit under the weather during our stay, and the staff went above and beyond by bringing breakfast directly to our room, which was a thoughtful and much-appreciated gesture. This level of care really goes a long way in making guests feel valued. For those who prefer to enjoy their breakfast with a bit of fresh air, the hotel also has a charming terrace where you can take your meal while soaking in the surroundings. It's the perfect way to start the day if you want to enjoy a bit of sunshine. The location is also a major plus. It’s just a short walk to the city center, making it easy to explore, and for those who prefer not to walk, a quick 5-minute bus ride will take you wherever you need to go. The lounge area at the hotel is another highlight. It’s spacious, cozy, and thoughtfully equipped with blankets to keep guests comfortable if the temperature drops. It provided the perfect spot to unwind after a day of sightseeing. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the area. The combination of comfort, thoughtful service, and a prime location makes it a top choice. We will definitely be staying here again when we return!
