We would not stay here again. The 1980s revisited... Pros: Big room, great view mountains (not the Matterhorn), close to train station, huge balcony, parking beneath the hotel. Nice sized bathroom. Breakfast was satisfactory. A good starting point for a trip to Zermatt, if you're not going to stay in Zermatt. There are some great walking paths near this hotel. Cons: Ugly...brown...shag...carpeting. Orange furniture. Worn linens, mattresses and pillows. Traffic noise was a problem because we had to open the windows for ventilation during this warm spell. No ice was available for our room. No in-room refrigerator. Service staff was indifferent. If you are driving and going for a quick trip to Zermatt, I recommend parking your car in Tasch and leave your big luggage in the trunk. Take your carry-on and the train to Zermatt and stay for one (maybe two) nights there to see the sights. Then take the return train to Tasch to retrieve your car. I don't recommend staying in Tasch.

Sehr zentral gelegenes Hotel, der Bahnhof und somit den Zug nach Zermatt ist innerhalb von 2 Gehminuten erreichbar. Dennoch ist das Hotel ruhig gelegen. Die Zimmer sind renoviert, gemütlich und zweckmässig eingerichtet, mit allem was man braucht. Wir haben täglich Mineralwasser, sowie pro Person 500 ml Süssgetränke erhalten, dies haben wir sehr geschätzt. Die Mahlzeiten waren abwechslungsreich, sehr gut gekocht und von der Portionengrösse wurde man mehr als satt.

This is the 2nd hotel we have stayed in Switzerland and we stayed here for one night. The hotel is located about 5-7mins walk from Tasch train station and there are a few restaurants and a mini-supermarket around. The hotel's external view gives one a B&B impression but upon entering, it's a hotel setup! And I am not sure why the hotel receives such a poor rating which I felt it's decent and good. Our room is at 307 (corner room). First, the room though simple structure and layout is nice and cosy. Bed is comfortable and there's a balcony where you can enjoy nature, mountains, lakes and nice scenery over a cup of coffee (though it is a common walk link with all the rooms next door). The TV has many channels and there's a TV channel guide which is good or you will need to spend time in searching for the channels you like to watch. The toilet is nice and got bathtub. The restaurant is nice and cosy and the breakfast spread is satisfactory. Foods were nice too. Service staff were friendly. In terms of areas of improvement, do note that there's only one lift and a small one. So for all the members of our tourgroup to get into our rooms, if we want to take the lift with luggages, it will take a long time. So we only load our luggages in the lift while we walk up the winding stairs. For most of us, the walk is ok though a little inconveniced. And there's no kettle provided in the room and cannot cook even cup noodles for fear in triggering the fire alarm which will fetch a 500 euros fine! The boss, Mr Chon, was very friendly and hospitable. He greeted all of us and even served us. When we left the hotel, he even boarded our coach personally and bid us goodbye! (he even brought the two of us around the entire hotel ground, including the buidling next door that is under renovation in improving it's facilities like constructing the spa, game room etc) Overall, our stay here was satisfactory and pleasant though there are hits and misses but I dont think it deserves a 1 or 2-star rating. It deserves a solid 3-star rating as rightfully awarded to it.

Before going to bed, you can walk around the main landmarks of the city. You can take a walk and explore the neighbourhood area of the hotel. Places nearby: Sunnegga Ski Resort, Zermatt-Furi Ski Lift and Matterhorn Express Ski Lift.

Ich habe dort 2 Nächte im Dezember verbracht und es war eine gute Entscheidung. Die negative Seite war, dass die Jugendherberge auf einem hohen Teil der Stadt liegt, zu Fuß dahin zu laufen ist es schon sehr anstrengend. Deswegen bin ich mit dem Bus vom Bahnhof gefahren, der Bus hält fast direkt vor dem Hostel, das ist gut. Der fährt aber nur jede 30 Minute, das war schade aber ich habe meistens lieber gewartet als zu Fuß zu gehen. Nach unten ins Zentrum zu gehen ist wiederum kein Problem. Ich fand es super, dass der Frühstück inklusive war. Ich habe viel gegessen und musste somit kein Geld für Mittagessen ausgeben. ;) Viel Brot mit Käse, Salami, Müsli mit Honig und Konfitüre, Obst und Multivitaminsaft. Super nette Mitarbeiter und abends konnte ich noch den Wasserkocher nutzen, um 5 Minuten Terrinen vorzubereiten, die ich aus Deutschland mitgebracht hatte (Spartipps!!). Toiletten waren sauber, Duschkabine und WC sind von einander getrennt und abschließbar. Leider sind keine Aufzüge im Gebäude vorhanden, das günstige Mehrbettzimmer ist in der vierten Etage. Das Zimmer ist ein wenig eng aber hat alles super geklappt. So konnte ich mir meinen Urlaub in Zermatt, eine sehr teure Stadt, finanzieren! Übrigens war der Bus kostenlos (ich weiß nicht, ob es immer so ist oder es wegen der Feiertage so war aber so hat mir die Frau bei der touristischen Information mitgeteilt).

Zur absoluten Hochsaison habe ich in letzter Minute nach einem Hotel gesucht. Die Auswahl war nicht mehr groß. Somit habe ich damit gerechnet, Abstriche bei der Unterkunft machen zu müssen. Mitnichten. Schon die E-Mail mit Tipps zum Aufenthalt in Zermatt kurz vor Reisebeginn war eine nette Überraschung, wirklich hilfreich. Das Zimmer großzügig, modern, sauber, geschmackvoll, schöner Ausblick. Das Hotel liegt optimal, Nahe Innenstadt, Restaurants, Bahnhof und direkt an der Bushaltestelle. 1a Service (und sehr sympathisch) bei Ankunft, Aufenthalt, Frühstück, Abreise und darüber hinaus. Sogar die Kopfhörer, die wir auf dem Zimmer vergessen haben wurden mir sofort zugeschickt. Vielen Dank dafür :-) Für nächstes Jahr werden wir auf jeden Fall rechtzeitig buchen.

Great hotel Don’t expect luxury but given the price point you know this already The rooms are small but functional with everything you need for your stay including a great coffee machine that’s topped up daily. Breakfast is well beyond what I was expecting and had cereals, meats, yoghurts, breads, cheeses, sausages, eggs and probably much more! Plus more really good coffee! Located 5 minutes walk to Bayard ski rental, and an additional 1 minute to the Gornergrat railway taking you up onto the slopes From the hotel, you can be on the train in under 10 minutes. Staff are really helpful and allowed us to keep our bags there on the last day even though we’d checked out. There’s a quick lift to all floors. I would highly recommend the hotel if your plans are to ski all day, go out on an evening and use it as a place to sleep. Would certainly return

Waren nur für 1 Nacht da aber waren total zufrieden mit allem. Das Hotel hat eine gute Lage und die Zimmer sind komfortabel und schön eingerichtet (insbesondere das Bad ist sehr modern). Der Wellnessbereich ist nicht riesig aber total ausreichend, um sich nach dem Wandern oder Skifahren kurz zu entspannen. Das Hallenbad und Aussenbad ist sehr schön gemacht und wirkt recht neu. Frühstück auch lecker. Preis-/Leistung stimmt hier absolut.
