Great ocean view and nostalgic charm! An absolute gem on the coast! We were very lucky to be assigned Room 24 – a beautiful, wonderfully spacious room facing the sea. The view from there is simply breathtaking! We were able to enjoy one of the most stunning, violet-glowing sunsets right from our window. An unforgettable experience! We were also particularly fascinated by the magnificent dining room. The entire ambiance exudes a wonderful nostalgia that instantly takes you back 40 years to a stylish, elegant era. The tables were beautifully set with fine porcelain dinnerware – dinner there was a true delight for all the senses. The location of the hotel is also excellent: perfectly situated in Stranraer right by the harbor, making it an ideal starting point for exploring or continuing the journey. The service was attentive and warm. Full points from us and a very clear recommendation for this historic castle by the harbor! We would love to come back.

A wonderful place to stay, quiet with lovely walks around the grounds and beyond. The staff were very helpful and nothing was to much trouble. The room was large with lovely views accross the golf course, the swimming pool and facilities an added bonus. Loved it.
