I rarely leave negative reviews, but this was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I have had in Japan. I booked a Run of House (ROH) room for my family. The booking description stated that room sizes range from 28 to 38 square meters. Based on that description, I reasonably expected that room assignments would be allocated fairly within that range. Upon check-in, I initially asked whether it would be possible to have a room facing Huis Ten Bosch. I fully understood when I was told that a park-facing room would require an additional charge, as such rooms are often sold at a premium. However, after entering the room, I realized that I had been assigned what appeared to be the smallest and least desirable room available. At that point, I was no longer asking for a park view. I simply asked whether it would be possible to have a slightly larger room, especially since the ROH description clearly stated that room sizes range from 28 to 38 square meters. What made the experience particularly frustrating was that I had already read reviews from other guests who booked the same ROH category and received significantly better rooms. One guest mentioned being assigned a park-view room after making a request, while another guest appeared to have received one of the hotel’s best room categories despite booking ROH. When I politely asked why other guests with the same booking category seemed to receive much better room assignments while I was given the smallest room available, the front desk was unable to provide a clear explanation. Instead, I was repeatedly told that any room change would require an upgrade fee. At one point, I was even told to contact the booking platform and ask the platform to pay for the room change. This response made very little sense. I was not asking for a free upgrade. I was simply asking for transparency and consistency regarding how ROH rooms are allocated. After a lengthy discussion, the hotel eventually moved us to a slightly larger room. However, the replacement room was located on the lowest floor, at the far end of the corridor, with a partially obstructed theme park view. While I appreciated the effort, it reinforced the impression that alternative rooms were available, yet no clear explanation was ever provided regarding the original room assignment. My disappointment is not that I did not receive the best room. I fully understand that ROH bookings do not guarantee upgrades. My concern is that the hotel advertises a room size range of 28–38 square meters, creating the expectation that room assignments may reasonably vary within that range. If ROH guests are always assigned the smallest and least desirable room available, even when larger rooms remain vacant, then the hotel should simply advertise the room as 28 square meters. That would allow guests to make an informed decision before booking. For families travelling with children, room size matters. Had the listing clearly indicated that ROH guests would receive a 28-square-meter room, I would likely have selected a different room category from the beginning. The hotel itself is in a convenient location and the facilities are generally good. However, the handling of this situation left a very negative impression. Based on this experience, I would strongly recommend booking a specific room category rather than ROH, so that expectations are clear from the outset.

Considering the park and hotel have been open for 30 years, I found the facilities and cleanliness to be very well-maintained. The park layout is excellent, offering a peaceful atmosphere with spacious, beautiful European-style streets that feel authentic rather than artificial. There are small activities throughout the day, which adds to the experience. Dining and Park Amenities While restaurant options within the park are somewhat limited, the prices are quite reasonable. Since we visited in June, the park wasn’t too crowded, so we didn't have to wait in lines for any attractions. The park is well-equipped with convenient amenities, including self-service laundry, a Lawson convenience store, a drugstore, car rental services, and even a pet hotel. Pro-Tip: Download the App I highly recommend downloading the official Huis Ten Bosch app. It provides helpful walking navigation around the park and a convenient schedule to keep track of various activities and events. Hotel Amsterdam Experience We stayed at Hotel Amsterdam, and I highly recommend staying at one of the park’s official hotels. The rooms are spacious, and a unique touch is the built-in water purifier, so there is no need to buy bottled water or head to the hotel lobby to refill. Additionally, you do not need to pay for a second-day park ticket, as the hotel provides them at check-in. Note that parking is 2,500 JPY per day, but staying at the park hotel allows you to offset this cost. Tips for Families and Extras Height Requirements: Be aware that many attractions require children to be at least 90cm or 100cm tall. This isn't clearly stated on the official website, though there is an indoor facility suitable for infants. Transportation: There is a shuttle bus, but it runs every 20–30 minutes. Onsen: There is a public bath (800 JPY/person) or a private family bath (2,700 JPY/hour, requires reservation). Activities: Some additional facilities, like the tricycle rentals, require an extra fee (3,000 JPY/hour). Overall, this was a fantastic experience. I highly recommend it for those looking for a relaxing and well-planned getaway!

Das Hotel ist für eine Übernachtung in Ordnung. Die Zimmereinrichtung ist allerdings ziemlich retro und erinnert an die 90er Jahre. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend, und das Zimmer ist sauber. Für einen kurzen Aufenthalt ist es akzeptabel. Das Hotel liegt nur einen Steinwurf vom Eingang von Huis Ten Bosch entfernt, wo Sie Ihre Eintrittskarten erhalten. Sie können über den Hintereingang zum Hotel zurückkehren. In der Nähe des Eingangs von Huis Ten Bosch befindet sich auch ein Lawson-Supermarkt. Ich würde sagen, es sind etwa drei Minuten zu Fuß. Parkplätze stehen direkt vor dem Hotel zur Verfügung und kosten 1000 Yen pro Nacht. Parkplatzwächter weisen Ihnen den Weg. Ich würde für einen unkomplizierten Aufenthalt wiederkommen, wenn ich Huis Ten Bosch noch einmal besuchen würde.

Ich war sehr enttäuscht über diese Buchung gemacht über Trip.com. Ich buchte speziell ein Deluxe japanisches West-Stilzimmer mit einem Außenwäsche, da das Außenwäsche war ein wichtiger Grund für die Wahl dieses Zimmers. Beim Einchecken entdeckte ich, dass es kein Außenbad gab, und mir wurde mitgeteilt, dass das Zimmer, das ich reserviert hatte, nicht verfügbar war. Zuerst wurde mir gesagt, dass ich ein Zimmer reserviert habe, das keine Heizung enthält. Nachdem ich meine Buchungsdaten überprüft hatte, war es jedoch klar, dass das Zimmer, das ich reservierte, mit einem Außenbad mit warmem Bad kommen sollte. Auf ihre Kredite versuchte das Hotelpersonal, durch die Suche nach einem letzten Minuten Alternativzimmer mit noch ein Bad mit Blick zu helfen. Dieses Ersatzzimmer hatte jedoch eine viel begrenztere Sicht als das ursprüngliche Zimmer, das wir gewählt hatten, und war nicht gleichwertig mit dem, was angekündigt und reserviert wurde. Zusätzlich war das Fenster im Zimmer ziemlich schlank und schmutzig, und da die Temperatur recht kalt war, beeinflusste dies weiter den Komfort des Aufenthalts. Da wir einen sehr begrenzten Weg hatten, war es viel Zeit, dieses Problem zu lösen und einen Ersatzraum zu organisieren. Daher mussten einige unserer geplanten Aktivitäten abgeschafft werden, was die Gesamterfahrung weiter beeinflusst. Insgesamt war dies eine ziemlich enttäuschende Erfahrung, vor allem weil ich dieses Zimmer zum ersten Mal als Überraschung für meine Freundin reserviert hatte, die wirklich auf das Außenwärme wartete. Leider fehlte das Hauptmerkmal, das diese Buchung speziell gemacht hat, was den Aufenthalt erheblich beeinflusst. Ich hoffe, dass Trip.com diese Frage zur Kenntnis nehmen und sicherstellen kann, dass Zimmer nach vollständiger Buchung als nicht verfügbar gekennzeichnet sind, um ähnliche Situationen zu verhindern, dass sich andere Gäste passieren.

Ein ziemlich altes Business-Hotel. Die Reinigung war insgesamt gut und das halbe Doppelbett war bequem, aber ich war enttäuscht, als ich ein einzelnes Haar auf dem Badetuch im Badezimmer fand. Ich hatte auch ein Frühstücksset, aber es war wie ein altmodisches Kaffeehaus-Frühstück und ich war nicht zufrieden, weil ich frühstücken wollte, also wäre es schön gewesen, wenn sie mir die Wahl zwischen Reis oder Brot gegeben hätten. Ich werde über meinen nächsten Aufenthalt nachdenken.

Like a little club med in Nagasaki. Excellent dinner and breakfast and lots of activities and great onsens. I would recommend for families.

Matsumoto Kiyoshi befindet sich im Erdgeschoss, und der nächste Don Quijote ist nur 10 Gehminuten entfernt. Das Zimmer ist recht geräumig; zwei große Koffer passen problemlos hinein. Ich habe zwei Nächte hintereinander dort verbracht; am zweiten Tag wurden die Handtücher gewechselt und der Müll entfernt, aber das Bett nicht gemacht.

The hotel is centrally located and is near a long shopping stretch. In the area there are a lot of good food places. The public bath is great and convenient to use, and the room is spacious enough for me to relax. Travelling from the train station to the hotel with luggage is just tedious.

A very comfortable hotel located just about 400 metres from Nagasaki Station, with a tram stop, bus stop, and a convenience store right at the doorstep. Getting around is incredibly easy, as it sits right in the heart of everything. Glover Garden, the Atomic Bomb Museum, Peace Park, and Chinatown are all just a few tram stops away. You can even walk to Mt. Inasayama in around 10 minutes, which makes visiting for the famous night view especially convenient. The room was clean and cozy. The public bath was spacious, with multiple tubs to choose from. There are also laundry and dryer machines available (three of each), though you may need to time your usage a bit. The breakfast was excellent, especially for those who enjoy Japanese-style options. It included a rotating selection of Nagasaki specialties such as champon, Goto udon, and sara udon. There were also breads, salads, and made-to-order egg dishes. However, it might feel a bit pricey if you do not prefer Japanese-style breakfasts, as they make up around 60% of the selection.

Das Hotel Indigo Nagasaki Glover Street war ein Highlight unserer Reise nach Nagasaki. Das Hotel ist schön entworfen mit einem eigenen britischen Kolonialkarakter, der perfekt in die historische Glover Garden Nachbarschaft passt treten draußen, Sie sind nur Momente von der Oura Kathedrale und einige der ikonischsten Sehenswürdigkeiten von Nagasaki. Die Zimmer sind unschön, stilvoll eingerichtet und die Badewanne waren nach einem Tag der Sehenswürdigkeit eine schöne Berührung. Frühstück im Restaurant Cathedréclat in sich gesetzt, was sich als eine umgewandelte Kapelle fühlt, war eine echte Erfahrung in sich, mit einer süßen japanischen Option, die wirklich lecker war. Das Personal verdient eine besondere Erwähnung: aufmerksam, professionell und wirklich warm. Der Service war lückenlos von der Eincheckung bis zum Auscheck. Das einzige kleine, was ich hätte Flagge und es ist wirklich klein ist, dass die Kissen auf der dünnen und weichen Seite, was vielleicht nicht jedem passen, der ein wenig mehr Unterstützung bevorzugt. Eine festere Kissenoption würde dieses Hotel absolut perfekt machen.
