Es war ein sehr angenehmer Aufenthalt. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Auch das Frühstück war gut. Das Zimmer war im Allgemeinen sauber, allerdings habe ich für die Sauberkeit nur vier Sterne vergeben, da das Kissen etwas staubig war. Ein kleiner Kritikpunkt: Der Aufzug roch zeitweise unangenehm, und auch der Flur, in dem wir wohnten, roch, als ob jemand im Zimmer geraucht hätte. Ich verstehe jedoch, dass das Verhalten der Gäste manchmal nicht in ihrer Hand liegt. Daher hat dies meine Bewertung nicht beeinflusst. Ich würde definitiv wieder dort übernachten, da das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis sehr gut war!

The hotel is situated on a beautiful road with amazing buildings surrounding it. It is pretty much a stone’s throw away from where all of the shops, bars, and cafes are. The staff are extremely friendly, always smiling as they greet you. They act professionally and even give you ideas and suggestions for tours. The room we had wonderfully tall walls and high ceiling, however, the carpet for the floor hurt our feet to walk on, so I would suggest taking slippers (we did not take any unfortunately). All in all, it was a great place to stay with a delicious breakfast the morning after. Would definitely stay there again.

Attended on Tuesday 27th Feb. Paid a little extra for room with a bath as like the couple ****** we are, we wanted a bath in Bath. My wife's first time ever visiting here. The hotel is a lovely setting, there is history here and all the staff have been wonderful. Close to the station, literally in front of it, and close to everything. Had the great pleasure of having many encounters with Tim, one of the reception staff and I believe concierges. Super pleasant and always helpful. We had breakfast included and after having that this morning can honestly say it's bang for your buck, with hot food to order including steak and eggs, (best steak my wife has had in the UK), a breakfast grill and a selection of others plus a typical selection of baked goods and fruits. The bar is pleasant and we enjoyed drinks last night before heading up to our room. Strawberry daiquiri we have had many times but the Amaretto sour was an interesting twist with a strong lemon zest. The only downside to the visit would be the bath/shower experience. Lukewarm bath and cold shower when we attempted it last night. This morning we got hot water for a total of ten mins to share before it went cold again. Not the worst thing all in all but a downside considering the extra pricing for a bathtub room. I was however assured that had I brought it to the desks attention I would have been assisted and I had just done the British thing of not wanting to fuss. One last perk that made an impact to me; free luggage storage. We checked out early so we could make the best of our time exploring Bath before we ride home. We were offered free luggage storage for even after we checked out so we could come back in quick before our train at 3pm and grab our bags and go, no extra charge. Fantastically useful as the Abbey tour does not allow luggage inside and we wanted to go. Anyway, thank you to Tim and all the staff at The Royal for making us feel welcomed and our time there special, we will definitely be coming back someday soon and will stay again. - Liam and Jenny Stephenson, Room 109. Insgesamt war unsere Reise einfach perfekt. Das Hotel liegt hervorragend und bietet ausreichend Parkplätze. Für nur 15 £ pro 24 Stunden fanden wir das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis unschlagbar. Das Hotel liegt zwar auf einem Hügel, aber die Busse fahren regelmäßig direkt vor der Tür. Unser Zimmer war groß und sauber und mit allem ausgestattet, was man braucht. Das Frühstück war fantastisch und bot eine riesige Auswahl. Es hat uns bestens für den Tag gestärkt. Die Mitarbeiter sind freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir würden jederzeit wieder dort übernachten.

Sold as a 5 star hotel and although it did look good from the outside,the inside was very dated and lacking tlc.the bathroom had what looked like black mould around the wall furniture and the sink had been covered in a wrap which was torn and some of the metal fixtures where corroded.the breakfast took over an hour as they seemed to take precedents over vips in the dining room who got food very quickly.from sitting down to receiving our breakfast took an hour both days.the staff where very apologetic but that does t make up for poor service and the quality was average.The Spa was also dated and the Gym was small with very little in it for a proper workout.

Große Verwirrung hinsichtlich der Bettgröße. Ich dachte, ich hätte ein Doppelbett gebucht, da ich die Option mit 2 Einzelbetten auf Ihrer Website ignoriert hatte. Aber am Ende bekam ich ein Zimmer mit 2 Einzelbetten. Ich verstehe ihren Standpunkt, es war ein Standardzimmer, aber man ließ mich glauben, ich hätte ein Zimmer mit 1 Bett gebucht, obwohl ich davon ausging, dass es ein Doppelbett war. Das Personal im Hinterzimmer reagierte nicht gerade positiv auf mein Problem. Ich konnte sie murmeln hören: „Hätte für ein Doppelbett bezahlen sollen“, obwohl die Rezeptionistin an der Rezeption tat, was sie konnte, aber sagte, dass keine Doppelbetten verfügbar seien.

Wir reservierten 2 Nächte für ein entspannendes Spa-Wochenende. Basierend auf der Tatsache, dass es sich um ein Spa-Hotel handelt. Wir planen, für das gesamte Wochenende im Hotel zu bleiben.  Als wir ankamen, wurde uns gesagt, es gab kein Restaurant oder Bar, das wir nur für Veranstaltungen verwenden können.  Wir hatten dann ein Mittagessen im Spa-Café. Das Essen war ok. Der Service war schrecklich.  Wir gingen dann ins Zimmer, als wir inchecken konnten. Der Reiniger war noch da. Sehr entschuldigend sehr freundlich und wunderschön. Das Zimmer war absolut wunderschön. Großes Schlafzimmer Badezimmer und Wohnzimmer.  Wir gingen raus und fanden ein Pub fürs Essen. Als wir zurückkehrten, um in dem Zimmer zu entspannen, fanden wir die Party direkt unter uns und in voller Schwung. Sehr laut und laut und das Rauchen war direkt außerhalb unseres Fensters. Wir riefen Rezeption, aber sie wurden vollständig reserviert. Ich freue mich, es alles um Mitternacht zu sagen.  Wir gingen zum Frühstück bei 9.30. Nicht viel übrig und das gesamte Frühstück war kalt. Als wir es fragten, wir wurden gerade gesagt“gut es ist seit 7” es hatte gerade auf der Seite in Silber-Taschen für 2.5 Stunden sitzen, keine Heizung oder Option zum Wiederheizen. Es war nicht essend.  Wir haben das Frühstück überschritten, das wir am zweiten Tag bezahlt haben.  Wir dachten, wir würden etwas Zeit im Spa verbringen. Ha! Nun ist der Pool klein, kein Ort, um nur ein paar Kunststoffstühle zu entspannen, keine Spa überhaupt. Es hatte eine sehr kleine Sauna und Dampfraum. Der Jacuzzi funktionierte nicht, es war nur ein Pool von wolkenfreiem Wasser mit wenigen Blasen.  Es scheint, als wäre es gewöhnt und könnte ein wunderbarer Ort zu sein, aber er wurde übernommen und verloren seine einzige. So schämlich wie das Gebäude und die Boden sind wunderbar.  Ich muss die Reinigungspersonal hinzufügen und die Lady auf der Rezeption waren wunderbar, willkommen und freundlich.

Came with no expectations. We don't arrive anywhere in UK with high expectations anymore. The Royal didn't disappoint! Arrived on a Sunday for a night stay after the Saturday night England semi-final. Room was fine, bathroom was fine. Location is excellent. Went down to the bar for a pint and to sit in the beer ”garden” Photo shows what we met. Boiling hot, no tables put out and only one parasol set up. Like walking into a furnace. Decided to go down the road. Had a great meal in the Little thatch, busy and full by the time we left(under cover, under parasols) and gave them our £70. Went for a walk and sat in one of the numerous bars by the Marine Lake for an evening drink. Again, busy and full and shaded. A fab evening. Walked past the Wetherspoons, again very busy and back to the Royal. Empty in the bar!! Nobody outside. Hope they had a good night Saturday, shame we couldn't have a nice meal there Sunday. Very disappointed that the hotel didn't clear up and reset tables for Sunday, they must have lost a fortune. As we left Monday, noise due to hosing down and putting tables back into place, a bit late for us. Both receptionist were helpful but used the excuse that there was football Saturday, didn't fully seem to understand why we were unhappy. If it wasn't for the fact that they ask you to pay up front, we probably would have left. Also not happy that we had to leave our card details in case we ”trashed” the room!!! Really? A 66 and 70 year old couple? We trusted the Royal, they clearly didn't trust us.

Stayed at Wentworth House for one night. The location was handy — only about a 6 or 7-minute taxi ride into the centre of Bath. Parking on site was free, which is always a bonus, though spaces were limited. The shower worked fine with good hot water, and at £120 a night for three people, the price wasn’t unreasonable for Bath. On the downside, the place is very dated and could do with some serious modernisation. Our room had a noticeable damp smell and the single-glazed windows didn’t help keep the room warm or quiet. I can’t comment on the food as we didn’t eat there, but overall, it’s an okay option if you just need somewhere for a night and aren’t too fussy — though a refresh would really lift the place.

This is a splendid Hotel and Spa set in the Somerset countryside near Winscombe. The Pool and Spa Facilities are very good indeed. There is a small sauna and a steam room that can comfortably allow 6 occupants. The Gym facilities are excellent and extensive. The Pool looks great though I didn't swim on this occasion. All the staff speak good English.The Bar is very comfortable with plush sofas in the Lounge area. I didn't dine, but the Dining area is large and looks comfortable. The outside area gives a beautiful view of the landscape and Brent Knoll. Nit Picks... Check in is strictly at 3pm and not before so there might be queues at that time. The corridors are confusing and first time guests might get lost. In the bathroom the Shower gel and Shampoo dispenser are in small bottles fixed to the wall by the shower and pressing once dispenses only a tiny amount. The service at the Spa was not quite right on the first night and very little was explained. It was better in the morning. My room was small, but very clean. The TV remote needed a very firm press to change channels of volume, but you get the hang of it eventually. I will stay again. The room rate by Trip com was amazingly good and better than any other Online provider. Well done Trip com. Below a picture of the landscape from the road below the hotel.
