Winchester

Given the price, it’s a definite up to the standard. Close to the city centre and free parking

Super stay. Very efficient checkin. Room was standard, very clean Premier Inn. Enjoyed our meals on the meal deal in the restaurant. Top marks to the staff...even though our dessert menu got forgotten...the fast apology and other service more than made up for it. Always prepared to forgive an oversight with a simple quick apology once a problem has been reported. Having worked in hospitality and travel for years customer service counts for a lot and this place really delivered with serving staff and with the lovely housekeepong staff. Will definitely stay again.

Stayed here for one night before travelling on to Southampton for a cruise. Plenty of room in the free car park and staff were very helpful and welcoming. Nice room and very comfortable. We didn't have the evening meal as we went in to Winchester for a bit of sightseeing. We decided to walk as it was an easy twenty minutes stroll. We had the continental breakfast. Adequate but we felt a little pricey considering the full English was only two pound more.

We stayed with our son and daughter in law and 2 grandchildren aged 5 and 4. We chose The hotel initially for its distance to Paultons Park Peppa Pig world. (25 minutes). The staff were brilliant, taking time to find out about us personally and why we'd chosen to stay in Winchester. They were genuinely interested in us as people and not just guests who they may never see again. The service, food and rooms were very good. We would recommend and stay again.

I have stayed here a few times now for work and have to say, the staff are so, so friendly. It's nice and relaxed and there's enough choice on the menu to not get bored. Yesterday check in was super busy with a group of women holding everything up so I got a drink and sat in the bar until it cleared and without asking, the bar manager had been and checked me in after I booked in for dinner. It's an ideal location and nice and quiet.Ideal for working away

Overall a good stay but there was room to improve and the hotel is starting to show some signs of wear and tear but nothing that couldn't be resolved with some TLC

Great position, you can walk into Winchester ( taxi back as up hill). . Good parking. Great helpful staff. Hotel bland, adequate , but without position advantage, I would not return.

Just popped in for breakfast on the off chance - it was a little early and we loved the friendly welcome we got. Had a lovely continental breakfast. This restaurant is a real credit to your brand. Every member of staff we met couldn’t do enough for us.

I forgot something in the room when we checked out and have been trying non-stop to reach the hotel but it's impossible to get through to anyone. Constantly trying to call for two days but nobody picks up the phone. We've emailed but no response. Don't like doing this but maybe a negative review might trigger someone. So - apart from not being able to reach someone on reception we also had the following issues. We stayed for two nights. Only one set of towels for the two of us. Went to reception and all he cold give me was a single towel. Said another would be sent up. It wasn't. No hand soap next to the sink. In the shower was only hand-soap and shower gel - no shampoo. Requested this from reception and they promised it would be sent up. Guess what.... Yep - never arrived. The night before we left (my in-laws also stayed in the hotel) we asked at the bar (because, you guessed it, nobody at reception) if we could book the four of us for breakfast. The lady behind the bar said we should normally book with reception (we couldn't) but that it would be Ok to just arrive. When we turned up at 07:00 for breakfast the person greeting us almost had a nervous breakdown (she was very, very nervous) stating that they were going to be so busy that she couldn't fit us in (we were the first people there!!) after much cajoling and reassuring that we were leaving in 20 minutes before it would even get busy someone else arrived and was great - found us a table straight away. We ate breakfast and left and there were still many free tables. Great location, OK rooms, terrible, terrible (to non-existent) service.
