Novotel Edjnburgh is best hotel i must admit either comfortwise, cleanliness, leisures provided and most importantly location wise and a beautiful mountain view with snow covered from room. Adiitionally you will find major shops nearby 5 mins walk boyh food and amenities/cloth

A lovely hotel with a luxurious feel to it. Great service from staff even when we had an issue it was sorted swiftly and professionally. Both the restaurant and the bar, which also served food was excellent and staff everywhere were very attentive and courteous. It would be a good idea to offer the reduced breakfast rate when hotel guests change their mind for their whole stay not just on the day they check in as plans can change as tourists to Edinburgh, especially with the weather being so hit & miss! Especially if they call ahead to book a breakfast. The location of the hotel just steps away from the foot of the Edinburgh Castle is perfect and walking distance to most places. The pool is fantastic but once again, when at the pool, guests may change their mind and want to visit the spa facilities so it may be a good idea to offer an hour option for those wishing to do this. This would benefit both hotel and guests. A great hotel and I would highly recommend.

Das Zimmer ist in der Regel zerkleinert und die Einrichtungen sind komplett. Die Bettwäsche und die Schalen sind komfortabel und die Ruhe ist sehr gut. Das Zimmer ist gut geräuschlos und hört nicht die Stimme des nebenzimmers. Die Mitarbeiter sind freundlich und werden sich aktiv fragen, ob das Wasser aus dem Behälter genügt. Der einzige ungewöhnliche Ort ist, dass die Wassermenge in der Schale ist, es gibt keine Lichter, schwarz ist kaum zu sehen.

I’m glad we are booked here Grassmarket as location is fantastic. Hotel is very well equipped with amenities o all good. Service staff are also very friendly and helpful even when busy and attending to several guests at once. Would highly recommend especially for first time tourists to Edinburgh. Only confusion was there are 2 APEX hotels almost next door to each other; make sure you are clear which one you booked.

I really enjoyed my four days. Wonderful hotel the team was very friendly and helpful at all times of the day. Great location easy to get to from the Station/airport. Good trams service along Princes Street. Plenty of buses along South Bridge which is a short walk. Enjoyed the spa facilities especially the swimming pool. The lounge near the reception area is a little chilly but a nice spot to relax with a warm drink. Overall a very pleasant stay. Would recommend. Rooms Good size room, fantastic shower and products. Bed was very comfortable. It was a tad cold so I requested a blanket which was very snug. Bonus having a fridge and complimentary water nice touch. Tea/coffee try was good but would be great to have some hot chocolate. Nearby activities Holyrood Palace and gardens on your doorstep along with great views of Arthur Seat. Five minutes walk to the Royal Mile. Food and drinks There is a restaurant and bar in the hotel. I found the food a bit hit and miss to be honest. Breakfast is great with a great choice in food for all palettes. Warm friendly service.

Lovely hotel with a really nice vibe. Beds are so comfy. Nice showers and luxury toiletries. Great amenities with snacks, coffee machine, local filter coffee etc in room. Staff are great and very friendly. Happy hour from 5 to 6pm with free drinks in the bar. Lovely coffee from the conservatory bar. Great selection at breakfast. All the staff are what makes the hotel so good. Really positive attitudes and always friendly. Highly recommend this hotel.

Without doubt, this was one of our finest hotel stays in recent memory. From the moment we arrived, Novotel Edinburgh set the tone with a level of warmth and professionalism that genuinely stood out. The staff were incredibly helpful throughout and what really demonstrated this was a small but telling moment: we lost our key card during the stay, and it was replaced immediately, without any fuss or inconvenience whatsoever. It's the kind of effortless service that puts you completely at ease, and it's something you remember long after checkout. The breakfast deserves a special mention — it was simply top notch. The spread was so good that holding back was near impossible, and it's the kind of breakfast that makes you actually look forward to the morning. Freshly prepared, well-stocked, and served with care — it's one of the best hotel breakfasts we've had. The location is outstanding. Sitting just a mile from Edinburgh Castle, you're right in the heart of one of the most iconic cities in the UK. Public transport couldn't be more convenient either  buses are accessible right behind the hotel, making it incredibly easy to get around the city without needing a car at all. The one area that needs addressing is parking. The hotel's own car park is frequently full, which meant we had to use the nearby NCP instead. To the hotel's credit, they did provide a discount for the NCP - a thoughtful gesture that softened the inconvenience. However, it's worth noting for electric vehicle drivers: the EV charging at the NCP is painfully slow, so factor that into your plans if you're arriving in an electric car. A heads-up from the hotel at check-in would go a long way. Parking frustrations aside, Novotel Edinburgh is a brilliant base for exploring the city - exceptional staff, an unmissable breakfast, and a location that's hard to beat. We'd return without hesitation.
