Mansion Guesthouse with patio, tree-lined pool, manicured garden Location in a quiet suburb NETFLIX and the GENERATOR was the attraction for us Host was attentive to guest needs (hairdryer) Breakfast portion fulfilling Disclaimer: review is over a year late.....as still unpacking memories and reviews....

Thank you, Highgrove - you promised 'a home from home' and that was exactly what I experienced - warm and welcoming, helpful staff for whom nothing was too much trouble, comfortable room, my perfect kind of breakfast ~ and I didn't even manage a cooked one! ~ beautiful gardens in a wonderfully peaceful suburb. I'll definitely be back!

I have travelled many parts of the world, but never had an accommodation as good as this. Very nice and clean room and service of the owner and entire staff is world class. It is a small guesthouse with app. 10 rooms so you are pampered your entire stay.

I stayed at Highgrove for business and had a number of special requests related to transportation. The guesthouse accommodated all my requests and everything went perfectly. I was never made to feel like an imposition and I really appreciate that. The hospitality and facilities were perfect and the guesthouse is very well located. The coffee at breakfast was fantastic. I also appreciate the good conversations with the guesthouse host and the guests.

Staying at Highgrove guesthouse felt like a cosy extension of our own home. Chris and Ally, the hosts, went above and beyond with their warm hospitality and eagerness to assist with anything we needed. Each morning, we enjoyed a delightful breakfast on the terrace, surrounded by the stunning gardens. And if you needed an evening meal, Chris always rustled up something that was just what you didn't know you wanted. I will definitely be staying there again when I am next in Johannesburg.

Hello All I am an Indian who happened to come to Johannesburg for my husband's treatment and I had to stay for 3 months in 'Highgrove Guesthouse'. For a foreigner it was the most safest and homely place.Chris and Allison took turns to track when I used to return late nights from the hospital. During the initial stressful time breakfast was the yummiest and decent meal of the day for me. I still miss the mushrooms and Brie toast in the mornings and their wonderful coffee.Also I cannot forget the cheerful faces of Beauty and Oscar who took care of the housekeeping. I highly recommend the place

This was my best experience of a Johannesburg guesthouse. Not only was my emails responded to quickly, I was also welcomed by Allison & Chris on arrival. Everything explained well, lovely room & balcony, close proximity to Sandton & a serious personal touch that I have not experienced before in Johannesburg.

My husband and I had a very comfortable stay in a large double room. The cooked breakfasts were delicious, served on the veranda looking out onto a lovely garden. The guest house is well located and in a quiet area.
