For me this hotel give me one of the best vacation experience! The front desk staff two women and a young men when out of their way to help me whit every need I had even if it was out of there responsibility and or scope of work. I needed to travel to Palermo airport but the train authority was working on the rails we spend a lot of time figuring out what was the best plan of action to make this 3 hours trip a great experience w/o me spending 12 hours waiting for my flight at the airport. So I took the bus and spend only 2 hours at the airport to come back home Bravo!! Noeme the pool attendant and Alfonsa the room service ladie were particularly helpful in making my day go by smoothly and enjoyable wile sleeping well. The breakfast staff remember how you like your coffee after the fist morning, do I need to say more?

I travelled with a group. We were treated well, with consideration and thought - good staff. Although an older type hotel the bathroom worked, aircon likewise, and cleaning fine. The large pool is delightful, clean and in great condition, likewise the chairs/umbrellas etc. Food - like most Italian hotels breakfast is on the over-sugared side (sugary orange juice for example), but bacon good, eggs seem real, and coffee OK. Dinner - group dinners not the greatest but quite decent and plenty of nice vegetables with mains, wines reasonably priced (all local, which is great). It's a bit of a trek to the beach and outdoor restaurants down steps & slopes but I saw the staff push a chap in wheelchair up the hill after dinner - 100% service. I would return if only to visit the pool.

Die Villa Athena in Agrigento gehört schon sehr lange zum Verbund der SLH Hotels. Es versprüht den alten Charme der italienischen Hotelerie mit Historie. Im Gegensatz zum Donna Carmela Resort auch ein SLH Hotel wirken die Mitarbeiter zuerst etwas distanziert. Jedoch legt sich dieses Manko sehr schnell. Auf alle Fälle versprühen die Zimmer sehr viel Charme und jedes ist individuell und anders. Jedoch sehr sauber und gepflegt sozusagen um Welten besser als das Donna Carmela Resort bei dem das Housekeeping die Schwäche ist! Es erfüllt die Anforderung der 5 Sterne Hotelerie und den Anspruch von Small Luxury Hotels. Als Indulged Member gab es ein Upgrade zuerst in Zimmer 102 mit Terrasse jedoch aufgrund von Wetterveränderung am nächsten Tag auf ein grösseres Superior Zimmer 204 da ersteres Zimmer recht klein war.Ich hätte auch eine Junior Suite als Upgrade bekommen, jedoch war das Superior Zimmer mein Favorit. Vielen Dank für die Mühe mich als Gast zufrieden zu stellen. Übrigens werden in der Bibliothek täglich kostenfreie Snacks wie Croissant, Kekse ect. angeboten. Der Blick auf die Tempel ist ein Traum. Auch ist der Lido nicht weit entfernt. Jedoch sollte man zumindest den Scala dei Turchi gesehen haben……18 min entfernt jedoch einer der schönsten Sandstrände. Kurz zur Gastronomie…….das Restaurant befindet sich auf der gegenüber liegenden Seite. Das Rührei ist unschlagbar zuletzt hatte ich im St Regis vor Jahren diesen Geschmack und Konsistenz…..Suchtgefahr. Ansonsten ist das Büffet in der Auswahl der süssen Varianten sehr Convenience geprägt. Hausgemacht ist bis auf das geschnittene Obst meiner Meinung nichts. Es ist ok aber es könnte noch besser in der Qualitätsstufe dem Anspruch entsprechend sein. Auch fällt in meinen Augen das Personal im Restaurant zum restlichen Kollegium ab. Aufmerksamkeit ist nicht die Stärke und Führung sollte es ein Restaurantmanager geben ist nicht seine Stärke….. was jedoch schon in anderen anderen Rezessionen angemerkt wurde. Die Preise im Restaurant bezüglich Lunch und Dinner sind recht sportlich. Das muss jeder für sich selbst entscheiden aber ein schöner Cocktail oder ein gutes Glas Wein am Mittag oder Abend sollte man jedenfalls geniessen. Kurzum wer Ruhe und Entschleunigung sucht bekommt hier ein sehr gutes Preis Leistungsverhältnis im 5 Sterne Segment geboten.
