Great location, this facility is suitable for those not fussy about where they stay. I did not enjoy it. I think I was expecting more and didn’t do enough research. I imagined there was the backpackers part and also a motel part of this facility. The room is what it is and it just wasn’t for me. Below is my experience of the facility. The room was dirty and very basic with no breakfast capability in room. No bowls, spoons etc if there were these items in the building somewhere to use, I was not advised of this. The Air con can not be controlled from the bedroom and you need to go down three floors to reception to ask them to set it to the temperature you want. You need to do this every time. The pillows are stained yellow and I was only given one pillowcase for two pillows. I’m not sure what was expected with the other. The shower door opens in front of the faucet making it difficult to switch on without getting wet. There was cobwebs and dust on vents and aircon. The balcony is very small but looks out over the beautiful lake and mountains. The balcony was shared with the neighbouring room. The carpet had something spilt on it which had not been cleaned. It wasn’t stained, it was hard and dried. The beds were comfortable enough and the sheets were crisp and white. Overall I wouldn’t stay here again as I prefer my hotels a lot nicer and more resourced but for a young adult looking for somewhere to sleep for a party weekend/backpacker I’d say it’s more than suitable.

The location was the best part for us. It was very central in Queenstown and surrounded with many good restaurants, bars and shops. If you are planning on skiing or doing an excursion there are many pick up spots and tour operators near the hostel as well. The room was a good spot to sleep. The bed was comfy, the bathroom was clean and they provided a nice small space heater to keep the room warm if needed. We didn't have any body wash on our first night in the shower, we reported to the front desk and they gave us a couple of bars and we were told that they would replace in the morning but when we came back it was unfortunately not replaced but we did get another small bar of soap. The remote in the room was disgusting and covered in what I imagine was at one point part of some good fried chicken or possibly pizza but everything else seemed to be fine. Check in was a little tricky because there is self check in/check out tablets at the entrance. We couldn't figure out the right combination of booking reference number and name because we had received Jucy's confirmation code in a separate email. The attendant did offer to help us out but we got the right combo at that very moment. You can pick your cards to activate them and we had no issues with this part but later that evening my card deactivated and I went to the front desk a second time to get it working on our first night. The hotel has some very good signage and arrows to tell you where your rooms are and the amenities (rooftop bar/restaurant, laundry room and kitchen area). The hotel seems to be more of a party hotel and when we arrived there was lots of drinking and people having a good time. This went well into the night and the noise seemed to travel well down the hallway from the rooms that were hosting. We could also hear our neighbour coming and going throughout the first night but it was relatively quiet between 12-6. We picked this hostel for the location and to save a little bit of money for excursions. It did get very busy in our area the first night we were there but after that we had no issues with the traffic. It was a 15 minute ride to the airport in the Uber and the bus stops at the nearby Stanley St bus hub and only takes about 25 minutes to go to/from the airport with limited traffic.

Dieses Hotel können wir leider absolut nicht empfehlen. Unser Zimmer lag direkt neben der Straße, sodass es nicht nur sehr laut war, sondern auch noch das Licht der Straßenlaterne direkt in unser Zimmer fiel. Die Vorhänge ließen sich nicht spaltlos schließen. Das Bad war schmutzig und heruntergekommen, in der Dusche befanden sich Flecken und der Wasserdruck war sehr schlecht. Es gab eine Terrasse, jedoch waren beide Türen so undicht, dass es die ganze Nacht stark durch unser Zimmer zog. Es war kalt und ungemütlich, man hatte beinahe das Gefühl, im Freien zu nächtigen. Für diesen Zustand war das Hotel definitiv zu teuer, hier ist eine gründliche Renovierung fällig!

Das ist mein zweiter Besuch hier, der für sich selbst spricht. Ich vermute, ich verbrachte hier fünf Tage im Weihnachtsurlaub, als der Ort sehr ruhig war, was mir passte ... aber wahrscheinlich nicht ideal für eine Standardbewertung. Es ist jedoch perfekt gelegen,mitten ohne Lärm und Minuten entfernt für den Einkauf von Lebensmitteln. Es gibt viele Toiletten-/Duschebereiche und zwei vernünftige Größe Küchen mit einem schönen Außenbalkon zum Entspannen. Die einzige kleine Rückziehung für mich sind die Dornen sind etwas ”gemütlich”, und die Küche ist nicht die beste auf der Welt gelagert. Außer, dass es ein guter Ort ist ... und Steph und das Team machen eine gute Arbeit, um die Lage in Schiffsform zu halten. Empfohlen

Diese Backpackers machten unseren Winter Aufenthalt in Queenstown wirklich sehr erinnerelich. Wir blieben in einem der zweiten Stock-Familiezimmer mit fantastischen Blicken auf die Bemerkungen. Das Zimmer war immer warm mit komfortablen Betten, reichlich Lagerraum und einem Kühlschrank. Einige Dinge standen für uns: sehr hilfreich und freundliches Personal (nichts war je ein Problem), sehr saubere Badezimmer, saubere Küche mit viel Geschirr und Kleider, kostenloses Essen am Mittwoch Abend, kostenlose Fahrradverleih (qualitätsrad!), Spa und in der Nähe zu allen großen Attraktionen der Stadt. Ich würde diese Backpacker sehr empfehlen!

We stayed here two separete nights. We booked in advance and we were nervous to book the same hostel in case we didn't like it, but fortunately we did and it didn't dissapoint at all. The recepcionist was nice and welcoming to us, everything is clean, it has several kitchens and the common room is like a huge family room with sofa, covers, TV and board games all super cozy which is the perfect enviroment to NOT have a heart attack when you find out that the borders where you are connecting home are all closed and probably you'll have to stay in NZ forever (not a bad thing tho, but I was pretty poor at that point, lol). Anyway, the people is nice, the dorm room has its own bathroom inside which is a massive YES! The lockers are huge plus there are tiny lockers with outlets inside to put your devices (genious). The bunks are hardly bunks because they are pretty solid wood-made so even if your bunkmate moves a lot you won't notice. It has a courtine which is awesome for privacy, its own night light and outlets by your bed. Maybe the only downside is that the parking lot is really (really) tiny, which makes it very difficult to maneuver, specially when you have never driven in the left before, jaja. Other than that, awesome stay, if I ever go back to Queenstown, definetely would stay here again! :)

Hier war eine Woche. Es war etwas besorgniserregend über die gemeinsame Anlage, da Sie nie wissen, wie die anderen Gäste werden, aber ich war angenehmen überrascht. Die Küche war unschädlich und so war das Badezimmer/Duschezimmer. Ein Toilettenkuppel hatte einen gebrochenen Schließfach und die Glasdusche-Cubic-Türen waren etwas schlank. Die Dusche sind jedoch in ihrem eigenen verschlossenen Cubic. Reinigungsmittel kamen in den Alltag und frisch gekleidet in der Küche/Badezimmer. Schlafzimmer sind groß. Wir hatten ein Doppelbett und ein Bündelbett, obwohl es nur die beiden waren, aber es war gut, dass jemand unsere Sachen auf den Boden setzte, was nicht nur auf dem Boden war. In der Gemeinde waren zwei Kühlschranke/Froschgeräte und jedes Zimmer hatte eine eigene mit Kennzeichnung versehene Schranke sowie eine nummerierte Schranke, um ihre Nahrung zu lagern. Es gab auch ein Ofen, eine Hobby, eine Mikrowelle, einen Toaster und zwei Kessel. Bitte beachten Sie, dass wenn Sie nur die Standardzimmer bekommen, Ihre persönlichen Handtücher nicht geändert werden ($3 um eine neue zu erhalten) und Ihre Zimmer nicht während Ihres Aufenthalts gereinigt werden. Es gibt auch einige Parkplätze außerhalb der Unterkunft, wenn Sie einen Auto/kleinen Wagen haben. Die Lage ist etwa 10 Minuten zu Fuß in die Stadt und ist nahe einige schöne Wanderungen. Würde empfehlen und würde hier sicher wieder bleiben.

The motel advised that due to the presence of scaffolding, the view from the windows is obscured. That's a minor problem and not really a problem. What the motel did not make any mention of when both booking and checking in, was the fact that major renovations are taking place. This meant that at one point during my stay I returnwd to my room during the day hoping to relax, but discovered that all tne furniture and my belongings had been moved so that drilling, plastering and painting could be carried out. Had I not requested a new room, they would have expected me to sleep in the room with wet plaster or paint. Furthemore, the electric door lock kept failing, leaving me locked out of my room on multiple occasions. The customer service is awful and the planning of major work when guests are staying is thoughtless. The noise of tools and workers is very disruptive.

The rooms were very average condition, but our kids enjoyed the big deck to play on. Staff werent very helpful and seemed noone knew what was going on, slack communication it seemed. I had also requested our family rooms to be close (twice) yet when we arrived we were on different floors! The man at the desk had no explantion or idea how to fix this issue. Eventually I called for the manager and she changed the rooms for the following night. The restaurant was unimpressive for the high prices also. Had much better meals in town.
