I visit this Premier Inn for one night almost every week. Most of the staff here are helpful during my check in, in the room allocation and for sorting out anything that’s not quite right. I have to especially mention Sylvia who is undoubtedly one of the best staff covering the reception desk that I have seen in hotels worldwide. She very quickly understands if you bring an issue to her and makes every effort to sort it out ASAP. When I’m checking in it is a pleasure to see her on the desk.

Set in lovely grounds this imposing building is full of history but like some many hotels of this age needs a big face lift. The only modernised area I came across was the toilets just off reception. The Main bar area with leather bound (not certain if faux?) and chesterfields is a lovely place in which to sit and relax with a drink. Looking up there is a balcony which is walked along to reach the bedrooms thereby offered a different perspective when looking down. I booked a king room with breakfast and asked if could have a nice view, and was told there were only a couple of rooms with poor views anyway so I need not worry?! Well the room we had number 14 had four small windows looking out on to the rear of the hotel. And the view included a heavily wooded area of wheelie bins - so much for the view; in hindsight we should have asked for another room. The first morning the breakfast was a 'help yourself' and all of the food was just warm - not hot. The coffee poured from a jug was also only warm. However on the second morning my full english was cooked to order and very tasty, but again the coffee was only warm. This was remedied when I asked a waitress if she would change it. The room was spacious though and the bed comfy, shower adequate and tea and coffee facilities acceptable. Staff were helpful and generally cheerful. Lastly it is no longer run by Best Western. A very interesting place to stay if visiting Nottingham and not too far to drive in to the town.

Ich und mein Partner buchten, hier für eine Nacht zu bleiben, da es keine anderen Hotels gab, die letzte Minute erschwinglich waren. Das Hotel stinkte wirklich schlecht und es sah aus wie ein Krackhaus, sobald Sie ins Haus gingen. Ich hatte nicht einmal erwartet, dass ein „nice“ Hotel günstiger ist als der Rest, aber dieses Hotel sollte nicht einmal für Geschäftszwecke geeignet sein. Das Hotelzimmer hatte überall Blut/ einige andere Farben. Es sah aus wie in unserem Zimmer und es gab überall Krümmungen. Das Fenster würde nicht einmal geschlossen, das ganze Zimmer war absolut flüchtig und das ist eine Unterbewertung, es war völlig unhygienisch dachte ich, ich würde eine Krankheit gerade von dem Eintritt ins Zimmer zu fangen. Ich und mein Partner wussten sofort, dass wir eine Erstattung beantragen und müssen gehen. Ich wollte nicht einmal auf dem Bett sitzen. Es waren Leute, die sich um Drogen in und außerhalb der Räume nehmen. Das Hotel bietet auch Hause für Obdachlose, die sie Ihnen nicht sagen. Um es noch schlimmer zu machen, weigerte sich die Frau auf dem Front Desk, mich wegen des Eintritts ins Zimmer zurückzuzahlen. Ich habe alle Gesundheitsgefahren hervorgehoben und mich aus dem Weg gedreht, dass der Manager mich morgen anrufen wird. Ich musste sie mit mehreren Anrufen jagen, bevor ich sogar mit dem Manager gesprochen habe. Sie hat immer noch die Erstattung verweigert und sagte mir, ich müsse einen über lastminute.com, wer dann sagte mir, dass das Hotel mir zurückzahlen sollte. Nein. Ehrlich gesagt, war ich nicht mal beunruhigt, das Geld zurück zu erhalten, ich war nur wütend, sie sind noch immer offen für Unternehmen angesichts des tatsächlichen Schreckenszustands dieses Hotels. Besser auf den Straßen schlafen. Berichterstattung an Handelsstandards.

Fantastisches Aufenthalt. Personal extrem freundlich, vor allem. John und Dominic, die hinter der Bar arbeiten. Die Zimmer sind fabulös, Duschen erstaunlich. Ich würde dieses Hotel definitiv empfehlen, wenn Sie zu Nottingham kommen für eine Reise.

Basic hotel, stayed with my teenage son. Room just about fitted 2 single beds, with toilet and shower, small tv. Surprisingly quite at night time considering a lot of the other residents were on hens and stags. Carpet behind the beds could do with a Hoover but overall it is a place to drop the bags and sleep. Lots of good amenities in the area, Lidl, Co-op, good chipper, a few pubs, excellent Indian just up the road. Staff were very nice, would definitely stay again, but bear in mind if you are looking for a place to pass through and have a good nights Kip this is your venue, if you want something where you are going to hang out in the room then the Best Western or Mercury down the street are more for you
