Broadhaven is bucket and spade country and the Anchor Inn goes with the trend, a cheerful and unpretentious place of the traditional seaside variety. Despite having booked six months in advance, we were allocated a fairly ghastly ground-floor room at the back of the house with a view of the car park and trash cans, while on the other side of the house was a mile of sand and the sea; beware! The restaurant features an Italian touch, a little bizarrely perhaps, but the food is good and value for money, while service on our visit (a very busy day) was determinedly friendly but little short of chaotic. For an eating alternative, Littlehaven is a short walk away, via the beach at low tide, and offers two or three dining options.
