Selina Jaco is the best location in Costa Rica! They are a top surf hotel with a vibe that matches. It is so different than the other Selina locations in the best way. The highlight is Tortuga Surf Camp! Selina has set itself apart and raised the bar with Tortuga Surf Camp creating their base camp there. Mike and the instructors are the best in Jaco. Tortuga works with beginners to seasoned surfers. My surfing has improved so much and I love working with them. I am so lucky to learn from people who absolutely love sharing their passion. The location is perfect and being able to go do a surf lesson on an amazing beach break with top instructors or rent a board and come back in to get work done is a plus! Tortuga Surf Camp has a weekly survival apnea workshop in the pool that takes has taken my water confidence to the next level. Mike has a passion for the water that shows in every lesson and interaction. Their photographer, Ivan, offers outstanding drone videos and photos for purchase with each lesson. I loved documenting my progress! I’m already planning my next trip back! The campus is beautiful and peaceful. The location is amazing ! Right on the beach with welcome drinks and breathtaking sunsets every night. The pool is amazing where you can eat drink and relax. The staff is just as amazing! Always something to do and so close to restaurants and fun nightlife.

The front of the hotel can be misleading, as the hotel is actually quite nice. The rooms are pretty good. The pool area is large and well designed, and have a bar right there. A lot of the rooms have view to the pool. The tennis/basketball/indoor soccer field is great, with roof. They have pool tables, table tennis and foosball. The restaurant is 24/7, which comes in very handy, and also adds the advantageof not being tied to a specific schedule for the free breakfast that's included. Parking can be a little confusing at first, but it's actually close to the rooms (I would improve it by addign signs on the road indicating how to get to the parking lot).

Un hôtel choisi par Wingbuddy (représenté par Travel Excellence au local)dans notre tour nature du Costa Rica, probablement parce qu’il n’y avait pas de chambres pour tout le groupe à Punta Leona à 30 kilométres de là. L’hôtel est un ancien 3 étoiles dont les chambres ont mal vieillies, outre l’absence de coffre-fort et une tuyauterie à renouveler en salle de bain, le lit était correct ainsi que l’AC. La proximité à la route n’est pas un avantage alors que les camions utilisent leurs freins en compression avec un bruit d’enfer qui vont gêner les dormeurs au sommeil léger. Les deux piscines n’étaient pas récentes mais sont plaisantes ainsi que le service de bar ponctuel. L’endroit est à 10 minutes de Jaco Beach, où la plage est plus recommandable pour la baignade que l’hôtel où les courants sont dangereux, mais qui plaisent aux surfers. Le petit déjeuner inclus se prend sur terrasse couverte, près de la mer. Un ou deux iguanes s’y présentent pur quêter la nourriture, il faut les ignorer! Le menu reste intéressant avec le petit dej américain, typique, Terrazza del Pacifico ou les huevos tomates. Le café et les fruits y sont bons. Même avec une offre limitée pour le soir, on trouve de bons plats dont le sea bass sauce crevettes ou les pâtes de fruits de mer étaient excellents. Nous avons souper à une pizzeria à 0,4 km de l’hôtel qui était bon, mais le déplacement le long de la route est dangereux, surtout au crépuscule. Notre agence nous a commandé les tests Covid d’un hôpital local et le coût en est US$ 110 avec des résultats pour le PCR en 30 heures par courriel. Attention de demander le bon test, 3 collègues voyageurs se sont vus refuser l’accès, le résultat reçu rapidement étant un test antigène non admissible pour l’accès au vol vers le Canada. Le trajet pour Jaco Beach se paie US$ 8 ou $10 du chauffeur plus avide venu à l’hôtel , à qui on n’accorde pas de pourboire. Deux nuits qui s’avèrent correctes en court séjour.
