These stars are for the groovy building, peaceful location, the giant bed and Ibrahim the most gracious host. Apparently the house used belong to the bank manager, I don’t think much has changed since the 1950s! It’s not luxury or nouveau riche, but it’s clean, relaxing and honestly priced. It is very close to town but far enough removed to feel like a retreat. We just walked into town and took a tuk tuk back (no more than 5 mins) you can flag lots of taxis down easily from the bottom of the private road. It is a good base for visiting historical sites and also the National park. An enormous bed, good air con and ceiling fan, home cooked food and great service from Ibrahim. The outside terrace is a real treat, spacious and sheltered by trees, we ate there and also rested, playing cards, watching birds in the woods. We found it so relaxing we extended our stay by two days.
