I recently stayed at this hotel and was thoroughly impressed with my experience. My room was spotless and well-maintained, with comfortable bedding that made for a great night’s sleep. - **Variety of Breakfast Options**: The breakfast spread was impressive, catering to various tastes. There were plenty of options, from fresh fruits and pastries to hearty hot meals. I appreciated the variety, which made each morning enjoyable. The room made a decent first impression and did the bare minimum. But, it quickly became clear that it’s best suited for a very short stay. The bed was comfortable enough. Overall, the room is fine if you’re just passing through, but anything longer starts to feel like stretching it. Staff presence around the hotel was limited. They clearly run on a lean operation, which can go either way. The guard in front of the elevator stood out in the best possible way and added a genuinely warm, human touch, which helped balance things out. At check-in, I was given two complimentary cocktail coupons for the upstairs bar, which immediately lifted my spirits. This was a place I had enjoyed many times before and often recommended to friends and family. I had good memories of the atmosphere, the food, and the general vibe, so I went in with high hopes. In the past I had written raving 5-star reviews of their restaurant food and amazing service! Unfortunately, the experience that followed didn’t live up to those expectations. What should have been a simple, enjoyable night out unraveled into confusion and unwelcoming interactions. Small moments piled up, the mood shifted, and it became clear that the experience had gone off the rails. Rather than force it, my group and I decided to take our time and money elsewhere. Sometimes you read the room and move on. I returned to the hotel later that night and stayed over. Took a hot shower in the morning, loved the smell of their body wash, btw! Another brief interaction during checkout reinforced the same theme: rigid, abrupt, and lacking the kind of hospitality that makes guests feel welcome. All in all, it’s disappointing to see a place I once enjoyed and freely recommended lose its consistency and warmth. I’m no longer comfortable recommending it, and I’m not sure I would choose to return. As for the unused cocktail coupon, I still have it. Any takers?

We had a lovely short stay in Aarya. Starting off with convenience: by being transported by the vehicle arranged by the hotel from the Intl Airport at no extra cost. This was a lovely touch by the hotel as sometimes travellers may want to avoid the hassle of negotiating with taxi drivers and firms. Then being greeted by the wonderful staff at the reception with khada & a glass of refreshing drink. The check in was smooth and seamless. The hotel itself was remarkably decorated to a classic Nepali ‘Newari’ culture which was very impressive. Located in the heart of Thamel, but slightly away from the drawing music & hustle and bustle of the streets to provide a peaceful and quiet atmosphere that we certainly needed after a long flight. Our room was spacious and kitted out with all the amenities and not forgetting, wonderfully decorated again. The facilities provided in the Hotel, from the Gym to the swimming pool was again impressive considering we were in the heart of Thamel. I particularly enjoyed the view of Sundhara Dharahara and SkyWalk tower whilst running on Treadmill and going for a swim and also the view of Swayambhu whilst doing weights in the Gym. The Sora restaurant at the top floor provided us a majestic view of the city whilst dining both during dinner and breakfast. The glass floor at the dining area was also something unique at the hotel which we have not seen in Nepal. Food was of the highest quality, and we were thoroughly satisfied with dinner and particularly the wide range of options available on the breakfast buffet, from nepali classics such as Sel Roti and Puri to modern cuisine such as Masala Omelette and Sausage & Bacon. Truly a stay to remember and we have already recommended it to our friends and family and will definitely come back to stay here again!! Thank you to all the staff at the hotel for their warmth hospitality & comfort during our stay.

It was a lovely stay at The Terraces. The view to the Kathmandu valley was stunning and the mountain view during the clearer skies were worth it. The service was tiptop and everyone was so kind and helpful. The FnB Manger Suman has very friendly and do not hesitate to go extra miles to provide the best service. We will certainly be back to The Terraces when we are travelling to Nepal again.

Dieses Hotel ist nicht ein vier-Sterne-Hotel nach der nepalischen Gastfreundschaft ...it zeigt deutlich, dass es ein drei-Sterne-Hotel ist und alle Einrichtungen mit drei-Sterne oder unten verbunden sind. Die Zimmer sind klein, wenn es gut ist, mit einem Paar oder mit einer Freundin zu bleiben, aber wenn es mit zwei Personen zu bleiben, ist es sehr schwierig, sich zu bewegen und das Gepäck zu halten, und andere Dinge. Die Fenster sind befestigt und können nicht geöffnet werden. Ich werde noch einmal sagen, dass das Personal fantastisch war.

Smack in the heart of Thamel. Great retreat in the mayhem of it all. Awesome room and service. A few loud bars in the area but they close early, a little later on the weekend. Bed and hot water awesome. Has cable T.V. to watch movies or catch up with what's going on in the world. Worth the money you pay to stay at this place

This place is such a gem. Take slightly more than an hour direct from the Kathmandu airport. The views from the hotel is breathtaking. The room was clean and big enough for 2 pax. I like the balcony where i could just sit to take in the views and gaze at the stars at night. Bathroom was impeccably clean and the towels are really good. I participated in their morning hike organized by the hotel. The 1 hour i wished would lasted longer. We got a glimpse of the life around Nagarkot with amazing vistas. I must commend all the staffs at the hotel. Top notch service from everyone. With smile and very friendly. Special mention of Binod who has been very attentive in his service.

Das Hotel ist nur OK. Es ist als fünf-Sterne-Hotel aufgeführt, es fühlte sich mehr als ein drei-Sterne-Hotel. Das Restaurant war sehr teuer und die Qualität der Nahrung war wirklich nicht anders als viel von dem Nahrung, das ich in einem normalen Restaurant in der Stadt zu einem Viertel des Preises bekommen konnte. Das Zimmer war angemessen, aber das Bett war nicht so komfortable und die Blätter und Schleifen und Kissen waren super unkomfortable. Sie fühlten sich nicht wie Qualität, die aus einem fünf-Sterne-Hotel kommen würde. Ich habe in drei Sternhotels geblieben, die höhere Qualitätsblätter und -blöcke und Betten hatten. Der Service ist wirklich gut und alles im Hotel ist ziemlich schön, aber es ist definitiv nicht fünf Sternen wert.

Ich blieb insgesamt fünf Nächte. Ich war von der Reise zu müde, um das Hotel zu wechseln, aber das Hotel war voller Enttäuschungen. Ich kaufte in der Lobby einen Kuchen, der drei- bis fünfmal teurer war als die frischen Kuchen draußen. Ich wusste nicht, wie lange er schon da war, als ich ihn aß. Ich schätze, es war mindestens eine Woche. Nach Rücksprache mit dem Restaurant scheiterte ich. Nach einer erneuten Kontaktaufnahme durch Ctrip entschuldigte man sich und zahlte den Schaden. Das Personal hielt mich wegen eines Fehlers an der Tür zum Frühstück auf. Nach nochmaliger Überprüfung kam nicht einmal eine Entschuldigung. Nach dem Auschecken aß ich im Restaurant und bestellte die Pasta, die ich zuvor bestellt hatte, aber sie roch nach Spülwasser oder Lappen. Das einzig Positive ist der Service des Personals. Kathmandu und das Hotel insgesamt sind nicht zufriedenstellend.

Baudha Apart Hotel The Air is much cleaner at these heights. A lovely view to be seen from the roof top upon the city down below. There is a room up there, for yoga, for exercise, or meditation. An elevator takes you there, but you can climb the stairs, if you wish, especially to prepare for a mountain trek – there is an ample storage room in that regard. Boudha Apart is owned by a Sherpa family, originally from Lukla, so there are many good contacts with the high mountain community. The hotel is fairly new, and that means nothing is broken. That is to say also, that it is well maintained, that the guests are not a rowdy sort, and they are mindful of each other's tranquility. The rooms are well thought out, and many have a sun facing balcony. Both sink and shower have abundant hot water, adjustable as you like. On the ground floor is a large restaurant, with a diverse menu of local cuisine, and western comfort foods. The basement is a parking garage for cars and bikes. The staff is of good cheer, and supportive of your adventures and plans. They, most conveniently, pick up and deliver to the airport. There is also a car and driver for various tours, as you will. And finally to say, the price to value is most fair, as one compares to other hotels in the region.
