Undiscovered gem of a hotel near San Pedro. Pros: We were looking for a place on the lower end of the price spectrum that was a one night romantic getaway for two, that I could also use my free trip coins at toward the cost of the room. Preferably including breakfast and a swimming pool with jacuzzi 😉 Not much to ask! We booked one of the cheaper rooms on the ground floor. Before check in we took an Uber to San Pedro mall to do some essential shopping and see a movie. Then we checked in and I relaxed in the jacuzzi under the San José night sky while my husband enjoyed a full workout in the gym/weights room. TV with cable was great for my husband who enjoyed the football while I enjoyed the hot shower and relaxed in the bed afterwards. We had an amazingly comfortable sleep and a delicious breakfast in the morning of gallo pinto, fresh tropical fruits, freshly squeezed watermelon juice and hot coffee. A generous check out time of 12pm meant we had more than enough time to get our things together and leave when it suited. Cons: Not many cons at this price point and value. The guy at the desk was a bit weird when we asked him for a second glass for water as there was only one in the room but not a big deal. We also had to ask him for the TV remote. The towels were a bit small like a mini dress on me after my shower. But good quality (with a third extra towel for the jacuzzi) and high quality bed linen. It also is in a slightly rough looking neighborhood but this is not a problem if you travel to and from the hotel by Uber or use a hire car (which you can park privately inside the property). Overall impression: The other photos on trip.com and similar booking sites do not do this hotel justice - it looks far better in person. It has real character since it is a restored historic hotel from an era bygone, but that is why everything is such high quality from the bed linen to the floor tiles. Everything is also in good shape and freshly painted. There a little hidden nooks around the hotel that make it very charming. The breakfast area is lovely and the jacuzzi, pool and water slide were a real highlight. We WILL be back.

We loved the staff and the location. We tried the restaurant of the hotel and found the food to be great but expensive. We liked our room but missed some basic items like a showercap and the sleepers we are used to finding in hotels like this one. They only provide 2 free bottles of water, so do not expect a couple each day like in other hotels. The internet connection was really disappointing. The bed was comfortable, and the room was ok overall.

The location and the amenities are amazing. Everything is on walkable distance, I haven’t had to take any transportation at all during my stay. The quality of the rooms and amenities is quite high, there is nothing to complain about. The staff is extremely nice: this includes the securities, the restaurant staff, the housekeeping staff, the barmen and most of the reception staff, except a lady called Alison, with a little attitude and some disrespectful manners, definitely not at all aligned with Marriott standards. However, hopefully some training may bring improvements.

If you're looking to explore San Jose, or have a basecamp for exploring the rest of Costa Rica, this hotel offers a great central location, situated right in the middle of San José. Good for walking to restaurants or shops in the city, or joining one of the several sight-seeing excursions which can be easily arranged by the hotel. The rooms are nice, though the decor is a bit dated. The common areas are also well designed for lounging while reading a book or getting to know your fellow travelers staying on the same floor. The breakfast buffet was fairly common for a hotel offering breakfast in Costa Rica, but good, and the area also doubles as a bar at night. Other amenities include a gym with free weights and a couple machines, along with two saunas, one dry and one steam.

Positiv: Das Zimmer war sehr schön und sauber. Das Personal an der Bar und am Pool war sehr freundlich. Das Abendessen war in Ordnung. Auch die Ausstattung war gut. Negativ: Die Rezeptionisten waren kurz angebunden und unfreundlich. Wir sollten uns an den Gepäckträger wenden, um einen Transfer zum Flughafen zu organisieren. Dieser ließ uns jedoch einfach an seinem Schreibtisch stehen, wo er etwa zehn Koffer sortierte, und ging dann weg, um sie auf die Zimmer zu bringen. Wir wollten um 5:00 Uhr frühstücken, wie es in der Zimmerinformation angegeben war, erfuhren aber beim Auschecken, dass das Frühstücksbuffet erst um 5:30 Uhr öffnet. Da wir einen Flug erreichen mussten und selbstständig zum Flughafen fahren mussten, haben wir nicht gefrühstückt.

Ausgezeichnetes Hotel, sauber. Eine leckere Frühstück und freundliches Personal. Als Sie das Hotel verließen, wurden wir gebeten, die Dokumente zu drucken und uns einen Taxi zum Flughafen anzurufen - wir alle halfen. Wir sind sehr glücklich ♥️♥️♥️

Es ist ein anständiges Hotel mit vielen Details, die nicht ganz richtig sind. Die Zimmer sind komfortabel und die Betten sind ausgezeichnet. Die Mädchen leerte die Müllkappe nicht während unseres zwei-Nacht-Aufenthalts, noch war der Shampoo in der Spülmaschine nie wieder gefüllt. Es gibt keine Teppiche oder Rüsseln im Zimmer, so dass Sie ständig auf luxuriösen Vinylblättern mit nassen Füßen Fuß gehen. Nachdem Sie aus der Dusche kommen. Es gibt keine Kleenex-Boxe oder Versorger im Zimmer, und die TV-Programmierung war schwer zu entschlüsseln, vor allem das Sekundär-Audio-Programm, um auf das Fernsehen in Englisch statt Spanisch zu hören. Auch die geschlossene Überschriftsaufzeichnungen funktionierten nie im Fernsehen

Neben der Tür kann man nicht gut finden, ist die Innenausstattung/Personal-Einstellung des Hotels nicht gut, insbesondere gibt es in jeder Etage ähnliche Orte für Sofas. Wenn Sie das nächste Mal weitermachen können, können Sie sich aufhalten.

Das Frühstück ist sehr gut, besser als im InterContinental; das Zimmer ist auch sehr sauber, aber die Toilettenartikel im Badezimmer können nicht effektiv genutzt werden – das Shampoo muss optimiert werden; es gibt kein Flaschenwasser im Zimmer.

Das Parque del Lago Boutique Hotel ist ein gut ausgestattetes Hotel in einer tollen Lage, das es eine bequeme Basis für die Exploration von San José macht. Das Personal war professionell, freundlich und hilfreich während unseres Aufenthalts. Die Zimmer und Einrichtungen sind gut gepflegt und bieten alles, was für einen komfortablen Besuch erforderlich ist. Das einzige Gebiet, das verbessert werden kann, ist das Frühstücksbuffet, das etwas durchschnittlich war und fehlte an Wärme und Charakter, die der Rest des Hotels bietet. Insgesamt, ein angenehmes Aufenthalt mit gutem Wert und eine ausgezeichnete Lage.
