Es hat sich wirklich gefreut, hier im Land zu bleiben, ruhig.
Mein Zimmer war phänomenal, eine Suite mit separatem Sitzbereich und TV mit einem super komfortablen Schlafzimmer.
Die Dekoration war in großem Zustand und die Aussicht auf den Fluss war erstaunlich.
Das Restaurant war gut und ein Preis mit dem 10% Rabatt, den Sie für Ihren Aufenthalt dort erhalten.
Die Mitarbeiter waren sehr warm und freundlich.
Ich würde sicher noch einmal hier bleiben.

The Abbey is a very lovely hotel, set in beautiful surroundings. It’s clean and inviting. The bedrooms are spacious and I have to say the bed is the most comfortable that I’ve slept in at a hotel and believe me I’ve stayed at numerous hotels across the world.
The staff are welcoming, polite and professional. They’re very accommodating. I would definitely stay there again.

We have stayed here several times and fed back to managers about the poor state of the tables & chairs in the breakfast area. Although my feedback (with photos) was not acknowledged, on our last visit just before xmas, we noticed the badly stained and chipped tables had been replaced or refurbished, and the badly stained and dirty seating had been cleaned and/or replaced, so that it now feels comfortable to sit on them. So I'm pleased my feedback may have contributed to these much needed changes.
However the window frames in our room were in a terrible state, covered in black mould and in desperate need of repair or replacement. Not a healthy presence to have anywhere. So hopefully this review will be seen by the right person/people and acted upon.

We booked a room for an assistance dog and we're put on the second floor right beside the lift so was very noisy which upset the dog causing him to bark a lot . Also not ideal on 2nd floor with a disability taking the dog out for a wee every few hours . 😡

GGastnutzerVery pleasantly surprised by the motel. Rooms were a decent size, had a bath (with shower overhead), a fan that was useful for our warm summer night. Staff were friendly and efficient. As the motel is located on the North bound M5 services, it was great to find out there was 'secret' exit if you wanted to exit to the South. Although our room faced the car park, it was very quiet at night and we slept undisturbed with the window open. Would stay again.

AAnonymer NutzerEin wunderschönes Gebäude mit historischen Verbindungen. Das Badezimmer war gut, mit tiefem Bad und guten Hauptwasserdruck. Aber das Schlafzimmer brauchte ernsthafte Aktualisierung. Keine Hauptbeleuchtung im Schlafzimmer oder Halle, nur in Seitenleuchten an das Bett und eine Standard-Lampe auf alte modische runde Pin-Plug im Halle. Ich musste einen Torch bewegen um das Schlafzimmer. Der Aufzug funktionierte nicht, obwohl das Personal einige Manöver gelang, um es zu arbeiten, was ich nicht replizieren konnte. Restaurant war ok, aber der Standard eines vernünftigen pub, nicht ein schönes Essen. Das Menü war etwas seltsam - Steak und Chips, Fisch und Chips Style oder ”Vergiftungspudding”, was eine riesige stolze Pasta mit über kocht trockenes Fleisch in der Innenstadt. Frühstücksbuffet war sehr schön, aber zu dunkel in diesem Zimmer auch. Sechs Schalen und Marmalades in offenen Kisten ohne Möglichkeit, zu wissen, was sie waren, und keine kleinen Gerichte, um sie zu Ihrem Sitz zu nehmen. Service beim Frühstück musste gesucht werden, niemand auf der Website. Frühstücksbacon war unsöhnlich - vorher gekocht und dann wieder aufgewärmt.
Insgesamt ist es ein faszinierender Ort, aber es braucht eine große Gesamtheit und eine Überprüfung, was sie bieten.

GGuest UserThe Hotel was ideally located to Rail Station, Shops & places of interest. Room was clean and well equipped. Breakfast was brilliant. Plenty of choice and freshly cooked. Hotel had Gym facilities, although I did not use them they were there. And most important it had Car Parking which is quite rare. Would certainly stay there again and recommend to others.

GGastnutzerGreat location for a hotel - closer to city centre with a nice walk across the river to get there. Convenient stop to visit family in my home-town.
Over-all a good hotel, clean room and comfortable bed. We didn't come into contact with any staff or stay for breakfast as we were in late and out early, so we can't comment on those. We loved that the room had a bath - this was lovely! The only downside was the the taps seemed to have some mould inside the pipes... it didn't come out into the water but it did look pretty disgusting hanging there in the running water :/
Other than that, this hotel gave us everything we would expect from a quick stop over :)

Room itself was clean but the decor in the hallways and the carpets are tired and stained.
Hot breakfast was luke warm at best despite seeing a member of staff testing the food temperatures. The hot food trays might have been well over 62 degrees but the sausages and bacon in them weren't very hot. I do appreciate that it's difficult to keep dry hotplate food hot. Perhaps it's time to step out of the 70's and actually cook the breakfasts to order?
Still a step up from the standard Premier Inn / Travelodge rooms.

GGastnutzerA beautiful location with stunning views. The hotel interior was a perfect mix of traditional and contemporary. Our room was right at the top of the building and, although very small, it was well designed and very clean. The service was excellent and the staff couldn't do enough to help you. We had dinner in the bar, which was tasty and arrived quickly and hot! All in all, The Cottage in the Woods is a perfect place for a quiet break with a little luxury. We will definitely be returning.

CChloe HepburnWir sind schon mehrmals in diesem Hotel gewesen, es hat die Grundlage eines fab Hotel, große Einrichtungen usw., aber es nicht besonders gut zu schütteln.
Das Pool/Billard-Zimmer schließt am Abend, wenn Sie annehmen, es wäre offen für die Bewohner im Hotel, niemand konnte mir eben sagen, wann es nicht geschlossen wurde, aber es war im Grunde Teil des Pools und des Fitnessraums und geschlossen, wenn das getan wurde . Noch einmal wusste niemand wirklich, wie viel Zeit es war!
Zahlte für meinen Hund zu bleiben, aber keine Hund behandelt, oder Hund Pack wie versprochen!
Alles in allem würde wieder bleiben, aber es lebt nicht ganz bis zu seinen Sternen, wie es derzeit verwaltet wird.
