Renvyle House Hotel & Resort

Renvyle House would definitely be on my list of top ten hotels ever. Tucked away on a secluded peninsula in Connemara, it is full of quirky character and interesting features. The food was excellent and the staff impossible to fault. We can’t wait to visit again, but next time for longer!

We had a nice one night stay at Renveyle. Perfect location for visiting Kylemore Abbey and Connemara National Park. Very relaxing stay, enjoying Irish hospitality and scenery. The food was pretty good- we had dinner and breakfast. Hot tub was lukewarm warm so we didn’t use it.

We were last here in early January, as part of my slow recovery from serious illness in late 2023, and having progressed a bit health-wise since then, we couldn't resist coming back again this April. As ever, Renvyle House has a long list of seductive features : start with its stunning location & its range of facilities, move-on to its comfortable Rooms & Public Areas, and savour the mouth-watering quality of its Food Offering. Above all, appreciate - as we do - the competence, attentiveness + (especially) the warmth of the regular Staff : renewed thanks to the outstanding General Manager, Anne Marie, the equally wonderful Front-Office Manager, Sabina, her cheerful colleague Róisín, the low-key, extremely hard-working Housekeeping Supervisor, Majella, the conscientious Restaurant Manager, Tomás, the very clued-in Bar Supervisor Tommy and others besides. Two Health & Safety related issues worth mentioning, both reflecting the absolute commi**ent of this Hotel to the care of its Guests. For part of our most recent stay, there were severe wind/gale warnings from Met Éireann, and Renvyle intermittently operated its own Generator. The other issue has more sinister origins. Apparently, a recent (distinctively-accented) Guest Couple strongly objected to the Hotel's display of the Flag of the RNLI (the Lifeboat Institute, which has saved so many lives on Ireland's coasts) because of the word "Royal" in their title, and sadly, the Hotel felt impelled to cease to display this Flag, out of fear for the future safety of the Hotel & its Guests : Go bhfóire Dia orainn - have we not grown-up yet ? Oh, and YES : we've booked yet another stay @ Renvyle for late May....

We had a wonderful stay at the Renvyle House Hotel. Beautiful grounds, excellent service and great location! Very family friendly.

Great couple of days spent as a group at this resort. The setting, food and facilities are all excellent. All staff are extremely helpful and approachable and both the accommodation and the restaurant offer great value for money. Highly recommended.

Excellent hotel with amazing service and a great restaurant providing high quality dinner and breakfast. Providing great views of the Atlantic Ocean and surrounding countryside with an outdoor pool for those brave enough to try. Thoroughly recommended

Excellent stay at the Renvyle House and Hotel. Really good food and excellent service - the manager very much cares that you have as good a stay as possible. Good for families too. The nature around the hotel is gorgeous and nearby villages offer good alternatives for dinner and lunch.

We stayed for four nights last week. When you come to the sign near the House that says you are entering a Stress free Zone now - that says it all. I go there twice a year with family this time and with friends in November. We were so well looked after by Ann Marie /Thomas/ Sabina/Roisin /Majella and the young international trained team serving us in the Bar and Dining Room. We got happy cheery good service and we learned about the countries they came from - SouthAmerica/Spain France etc. The food is excellent . The four of us had Dinner each evening . The Menu has plenty to choose from - all fresh and locally sourced, Compliments to the Chef / Team and a big Thank you to everyone who looked after us. There was super entertainment too. The Curlew Theatre /Sean and Ros did 2 short plays . They are done at 5 pm and so good. Also on the other 2 evenings we had a Harpist in the Lounge. So we were spoiled. The hotel is so comfortable with plenty of space and cosy corners to retreat to if you want that. There are lots of walks on site and further afield . Sean did a guided walk one morning and he told us the history of the area. It well worth going on. We always go to the wonderful bookshop in Letterfrack - the owners Vincent and Mary are so helpful and kind. They have excellent coffee and homemade cakes too.
