Chateau de l Abbaye de Moreilles

I could not believe that this establishment is so well recommended here. It is called chateau but cannot be described differently as a run down house, which has not seen a renovation since at least 5 years. It is priced like a luxury resort making you pay even for the second coffee in the morning, offers soft mattresses, internet below 0,5mb download and unfriendly staff. I came there to work but this was not possible so I needed to leave early. Promising me after long discussions to discount the not used 2nd night 50% to which I agreed, they charged the other 50% 1h after I left without shame. This has nothing to do with hospitality.

Just take a look at that photos... they say it all. That is the so called "Belle Otero - Junior Suite" for 210 Euro per night. The Homepage looked amazing and promising but that stay turned out to be a total nightmare! We travel a lot and NEVER experienced something like that. Just take a look at that pictures - they say it all. First of all: It was dirty! The toilett had brown water in it, spider webs on the walls. You couldn't close the bathroom door or ANY door. The location was nothing like a Chateau or Abbaye. We decided to talk to the owner, a middle aged Lady. She was not in the mood to talk to us. After I starded explaining that this is not what we expected, she laughed and rolled her eyes. And her exact words were: "You are free to go. But you paied already, so..." And then she laughed again. At one point she became so loud and aggressiv that other guests tried to calm her down and one men whispered to me: "It's not her friendly week." She told me that we should be glad that her husband (The Chef) isn't here, because he would not stay this friendly. Somehow we managed to make the best out of this stay. The Pool was nice so we spend our time there. After we left the place we stayed in REAL Chateaus with beautiful rooms for less than half the price.

This is a very quirky but magnificent hotel. In the middle of nowhere in the countryside but with great access to the major towns of the Vendee this place is special. We had a suite which had every comfort including a magnificent jacuzzi and private garden. We decided to book three nights with dinner each night and were not disappointed. The meals were home cooking at a cordon bleu standard , absolutely faultless. Th family running the hotel is delightful without being over attentive. Our suite had the best shower we have had in any hotel in the world with stunning toiletries and towels. Didn’t use the heated swimming pool but it looked great. We look forward to our next visit.

A little gem in the middle of nowhere. We were looking for a relaxing break in the Vendée and we were not disappointed! We stayed for 8 nights with our 1 year old baby in the Chateau de l'abbaye. We were very welcome from the moment we arrived. The chateau is run by a very nice family and nothing is too much trouble. We were provided with little touches in our room to accommodate us, like a baby bath, bottle warmer, and crib. I appreciated the Nuxe products too, very nice. The room was a high standard and very classy antique type decorations. The same throughout the chateau, it is tasteful and charming. We used the pool a couple of times, it was refreshingly cool on a hot summer's day. We had dinner the first night we arrived, the food and service were outstanding (3 course standard menu), and they were very patient with our baby boy crawling around who is very active, and were very nice with him. One of the best parts of our stay was the breakfast which we are going to miss every morning! The breads and brioche basket had plenty of choice and very fresh, served with fresh orange juice hot drink of your choice, jams and you can request anything else you would like additional (the taste of different fromages was very good). The chateau is in good driving distance to many different beaches on the west coast, one of our favourites was Plage de Chatelallion. Overall very good quality/price ratio. Don't hesitate to book!

Formidable séjour de 5 jours. Nous avions besoin d'une parenthèse loin de Paris et du bruit. Cet établissement tenu par la Maman, son fils, et la belle fille est un moment d'enchantement. La gentillesse, la prévenance, et la douceur de tous les instants vous assurent de vous sentir comme dans un cocon tout au long de votre séjour. Les lieux, hors du temps, cosy et authentiques sont néanmoins aux standards modernes de confort (climatisation, baignoires et douches balnéo, literie de qualité...) Situé à quelques km de la Rochelle, la Roche sur Yon, et surtout de l'Ile de Ré, le spot est idéal pour profiter des environs. Nous attendons avec impatience l'occasion de revenir pour découvrir votre nouvelle piscine! Amitiés de Scott (notre teckel nain)!

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour, Une excellente literie et très belle chambre. Tout est propre et petit à côté à volonté Petits déjeuner et dîners. Copieux, variés et excellentissime. Très Bon accueil. Rien à redire à renouveler.......

Un week-end magique avec dîner aux chandelles et petit déjeuner dans une chambre avec jacuzzi privatif. L'accueil formidable et contrairement à d'autres avis lus précédemment, il n'y a pas qu'une personne. 3 personnes se sont occupées de nous. L'endroit a beaucoup de charme, et très calme. Notre chambre très spacieuse, le jacuzzi un bonheur et le lit rond de 2m40 très confortable. Le dîner était copieux, "maison", avec d'excellents produits régionaux. Le petit déjeuner comme le dîner, copieux avec des produits d'artisans du coin. Nous recommanderons à nos amis, et nous reviendrons certainement l'année prochaine.

Très belle expérience dans ce lieu donc l accueil et le service y est exceptionnel. Chambre très confortable et le repas aux chandelles est de qualité. Je recommande vivement cet endroit de détente où tout est fait pour la détente et le plaisir de la table. Je ne vous parle pas des petites surprises agréables qui jalonerons votre séjour.
