Wir waren 2 Wochen hier um Urlaub zu machen, und es war großartig! Viele Leute, vor allem in Europa (inklusive uns) wissen nicht, dass die Local Islands existieren und verbinden die Malediven ausschließlich mit den meist unbezahlbaren Luxusresort Inseln. Himandhoo ist touristisch noch nicht sehr erschlossen, man kann hier wirklich noch das Leben der Einheimischen kennenlernen und hat zusätzlich das gleiche Meer, wunderschöne Strände und die selben Schnorchel Spots für die viele Menschen das 10 Fache und mehr ablegen. Origami Inn ist ein wunderschönes Guesthouse mit sehr hohem standard, familiär geführt und das mit sehr viel Liebe und Hingabe. Das nebenan liegende, dazugehörige Restaurant wird von der Familie geführt und wir wurden 2 Wochen hervorragend bekocht. Obwohl es auf der Insel natürlich hauptsächlich Fisch gibt, war es auch für uns als Vegetarierin / Veganer kein Problem gute Speisen und eine halbwegs abwechslungsreiche Küche zu bekommen. Azeez, unser Host hat uns auf mehreren Schnorchel Trips, direkt zu den Riffs vor der Insel oder per Boat begleitet. Er stammt von Himandhoo und konnte uns außerdem sehr viele Interessante Dinge über die Kultur, Religion und Politik erzählen. Wir können einen Aufenthalt hier für alle die die echten Malediven und seine Einheimischen kennenlernen wollen, gleichzeitig aber trotzdem auf gewisse standards wie ein bequemes Bett, geräumiges, sehr modernes Zimmer, warme Dusche oder Klimaanlage nicht verzichten wollen, nur herzlich weiterempfehlen. Die Ruhe auf der Insel, die leeren Strände und die gute Verpflegung waren sehr erholsam und entschleunigend. Wir kommen gerne wieder! Ps: am besten kontaktiert man Cristina direkt über die Website per Mail oder Whatsapp, dies hat Vorteile für alle! Zur Anreise: auch das ist mittlerweile sehr einfach, wir wurden vom Flughafen abgeholt, per Speedboat dann 2 Stunden. Verbindung geht 1-2 pro Tag. Sollte der Flug nach 15:00 ankommen, organisiert das Hotel ein Übernachtung in Malé. Eine früh Ankunft ist also empfehlenswert.
