This was our first visit to Antigua and we were lucky enough to stay at Stoneyhill Apartments. It was a perfect choice, the location is close enough to the best beaches and restaurants but far enough away to enjoy the tranquility. It really does feel like you are miles away from the crowds but you are literally a 5 minute drive away. Not being one for all inclusives and lively developments this was perfect. Jolly Harbour is 5 minutes away, it is a newish busy development of villas with a large supermarket, several bars, restaurants and shops. It’s certainly handy and had some great meals but it’s so much better knowing when you leave you’re going back to your own tranquil paradise. It was a real joy to open up the patio doors onto the veranda each morning and sit and gaze at the stunning view down to Darkwood Beach and the sea. The trees and fauna attract the most beautiful birds including an abundance of humming birds feeding on the tamarind tree. The apartment was spacious, comfortable, and spotless. Equipped with everything you could possibly need. With a gorgeous pool and bar area a few steps away. A large wrap around veranda with plenty of relaxing furniture to choose from completes a stunning place to stay. Not forgetting the absolute best part of staying here, your perfect hosts Karol and Merv. Not only do they look after you when needed they are such lovely kind people, I am glad to now call them my friends. Nothing is too much trouble for them and they really completed a perfect holiday.
