McMenamins Kalama Harbor Lodge

We’ve been wanting to stay at this lodge for sometime. McMinemins has done a great job bringing the past to life, and the prime location along side the Columbia can’t be beat. The nearby Interpretive Center and Market Place enhances your experience. The rooms are intended to be period style, but tend to be quite dark for our taste. Just one reading light would have been appropriate. There are multi food opportunities and a really nice walkway near the river. I loved the train activity to our rear, and ocean going vessels to our front. Too fun! Kalama itself is a nice town, worthy of a stroll. Highly recommend!

Spent the night on a last minute invite. The lodge was completely booked via the McMenamins website. I called them directly and spoke with the front desk and asked to be put on a waiting list. I had a room 30 minutes later, it was awesome. On the way there3 days later called again and asked if they had a river view room, and they did and we were upgraded. It was a really fun visit. All the staff were absolutely great. Friendly, helpful, and just fun to interact with. Kalama Lodge is the perfect getaway for a night or nights. Don’t hesitate whatsoever.

Great experience, loved all the activities in walking distance. We brought our puppy and the hotel was very accommodating.

Beautiful location, great staff, good dinner… the room was comfortable, quiet & charming& QUIET… wonderful view… Our two dogs were welcome ….. That review was over a week ago.., on our subsequent vacation further north on the coast I got food poisoning… we were SOO LUCKY to be able to get a last minute stay (2 nights) at the lodge… I spent the entire 2 days in bed… a wonderful comfortable bed, draperies drawn & the strong structure of the building allowed for calm and quiet… a strange review but the Lodge offered us a place for me to recover… Our first time at the lodge loved the lovely bar…this time the quiet that allowed me rest & no interruptions for our dogs

As always, we had a wonderful 3 night stay with the staff, dining-in the restaurant, outside & in our room, walking the grounds, shopping at Timber Market, visiting family in Woodland & Longview, etc.! The decor of McMenamin's is unique, enchanting and fun to experience! Kalama Harbor Lodge is our home-way-from-home when we are in SW Washington:-)

Set in a beautiful location along the Columbia river. Music scheduled several time a week and plenty of river walk to get your exercise. Several restaurants on campus and bars. Such a realxing place to stay.

Loved the view of the river, the river walk with daffodils, the nice amenities, staff, & overall fun atmosphere. Good food and drinks there as well, especially with the Irish music on St. Pat's. Just wish there was a coffee pot in the room.

Beautiful area and comforting vibe. We were greeted warmly and by name by the Front Desk. I did complete a pre-check in. Still, attention detail by staff noted and appreciated. Impressive considering how fast-paced a world we all live in. Our room took us back to a simpler time. Had a tv and nice patio as all the rooms do. Atmosphere is reminiscent of lodge or cabin (hence the name 😀). Dimly lit, but relaxing and we couldn't help but disconnect from the world. We purchased the Passport and are now hooked into getting all the stamps which will keep us on tour of McMenamin's properties for some time. Food was wonderful! Stephen hooked us up with breakfast. We had dinner and also visited the Cloud Lounge. The Cloud Lounge service was good. We asked for water and it was forgotten. I wouldn't wreck the place for this -- waiters were nice. We ventured out one day and went to the Marketplace just south and in walking distance. What a cute place! We had a once in a lifetime tasting experience at Battle Crest Distillery with Audrey. This is what we all miss in our day-to-day. Connection. Yes, I missed the soaking tub and maybe getting more channel choices on my tv. However, I got something I didn't know I missed or even needed. Thank you for a wonderful stay. We will be back.
