Kann nicht genug über das große Personal sagen. Robinjill sicherte, dass wir die Richtungen nach Pfeiffer Beach durch Handsignale, die erfreulich war. Das Haus ist rustik und der Zellservice ist meist nicht. Aber das Haus war komfortabel und sauber. Die Landschaft ist einfach schön. Achte auf die wilden Truthühner! Stunningly poor institutional handling of a challenging situation. We were in Big Sur when Highway 1 eroded to the north of the property. ~2,000 people were trapped in the Big Sur area overnight (with hundreds sleeping in their vehicles), and while we were able to convoy out the next day based on CalTrans assessing that the portion of the highway that hadn’t eroded was stable enough to support traffic, there was a real possibility that everyone would be stuck for a week+ ahead of an alternative evacuation plan. Through all this, the Big Sur community rallied. They supported stranded visitors, distributed food, offered shelter, and worked hard to support those in need. Everyone except the Alila Ventana and its restaurant, the Sur House. The Sur House is open to the public, and its lunch and dinner service is commonly frequented by visitors to Big Sur. While not staying on property, we had both lunch (pre-collapse) and dinner (post collapse) at the Sur House the day of the highway collapse. While the food was fine, what really stood out the day of the collapse was the kindness and grace of the staff members during dinner, as many of them were also trapped in Big Sur for the night, away from their homes. They made room for stranded visitors in the restaurant (it became a hub as it’s one of the few places in Bug Sur with reliable cell service and WiFi) and were extremely supportive given the circumstances. That all changed the next day. We arrived at the Sur House for breakfast on Sunday morning, along with several other weary stranded patrons, expecting to purchase a warm (and overpriced) meal and get some much-needed connectivity to get critical information about emergency response next steps. We and others were completely shocked to be curtly informed that the Alila management had made the dangerous and misguided decision to ban non-hotel-guests from eating at the restaurant. Total 180 from the night prior, and while the rest of Big Sur opened its arms amidst the crisis, the Alila slammed shut its doors. Interestingly, while we were there, alongside others who’d just spend the night huddled in their vehicles, processing that we were effectively being told to leave, despite the emergency situation, a State Park officer arrived to tell the hostess that he’d received complaints they weren’t serving food to non-guests (not from us). Before he could finish, the hostess erupted into a diatribe about how it’s their right to refuse service as an “all-inclusive” (as an aside, it’s not all-inclusive) resort etc. etc., which the officer rightly agreed with, stating that as a private business, it’s their right to refuse service to anyone, but he just wanted to inform them of the complaints. While it is absolutely their right to refuse to feed paying would-be customers in the face of an emergency, the Alila’s management’s decision to exercise that right while the rest of Big Sur rallied to support community members and visitors alike tells you

We stayed in one of the Cottage Studios w/ wet bar and it was perfect. The cottage was the perfect size for my boyfriend and I and was such a cool vibe. Bathrooms were really nice, the room was super clean and the porch was great for drinks or just to hang out. The staff was nice and very accommodating. Can’t recommend enough!

Eine der schönsten Hyatt-Eigenschaften, die ich jemals bekommen habe. Schöne Meerblick, schöne, aber moderne Zimmer, viele Pflanzen, nahe zum Punkt Lobos Staatspark, Carmel, Monterey, Big Sur. 2 Schlafzimmereinheiten sind geräumig genug für 2 Erwachsene und 2 Erwachsene Kinder. Warmbad im Winter ist ein Plus. Fitness ist gut für aerobische Übungen als Gewichtsausbildung, aber Gewichte und Maschinen sind verfügbar. BBQ Grill zur Verfügung, und Safeway ist nur eine Meile entfernt. Sehr empfohlen.

Das Carmel Mission punktet mit einem sehr netten Service, einem Parkplatz direkt am Hotel und auch gut ausgestatteten Zimmern, die ausreichend groß und sehr sauber sind. Das Hotel liegt zudem sehr zentral für abendliche Unternehmungen. Es verfügt sogar über einen Pool, den wir aber leider aus zeitlichen Gründen gar nicht nutzen konnten. Es war ein perfekter Aufenthalt - leider nur eine Nacht. Bei einem nächsten Besuch würde ich mindestens zwei bis drei Übernachtungen planen, da Carmel so schön ist. Erwähnen möchte ich auch noch das inkludierte ausgezeichnete Frühstück mit einem supernetten Serviceteam. Es war uns eine Freude.

I can't pick words how great it is.. but I want to provide details. First and foremost. we stayed 1 night on May 18, we got room 328, this is a suite with fantastic location and it is very very quiet. I and my wife celebrated 22 years of our first date and initially we wanted to pick Ritz in Half Moon bay but we decided to give this place a try.. and oh boy - we will never go back to Ritz. 1. Hospitality. staff is awesome. reception is the most welcome and I want to say - naturally welcome. Very smiley. 2. Valley Kitchen restaurant is fantastic and I can't find another word. it is probably the best restaurant in Carmel. it has a European charm I absolutely love. We dined and had a breakfast. both were great. 3. ”Little things matter the most”. you know what I do not like? it is a extra charge for cappuccino if you take buffet breakfast. I love to run this test, we travel to Hawaii often - 90% of restaurants do it. they say ”drip coffee is included but cappuccino is not”. Valley Kitchen waiter just said ”Oh. I will bring you a cappuccino and it will be on us.” . I love it. 4. room is great by the most highest standards. it has a soaking bathtub on balcony and we spent an hour inside sipping champagne. 5. fireplace with automatic timer - fantastic. you just click ”30 min” and it will go down in 30 min. 6. large bathroom with a toilet inside separated by the extra door. 7. cocktails at the bar - they have a special in house receipts - I tried one on whiskey and my wife got a lavender one. we repeated them. both are just awesome. 8. We tried to book Spa, but it was full.. I assume it is very good because I called them for 2 days in advance and they always apologized that all is booked, and could not find a spot for facial. you should book in advance . on a scale from 1 to 10 it is 11. there is only one hotel in my life I would put on the same level of excellence - it is Four seasons on Maui.. nothing else is better.
