Die Amalfiküste gehört für uns zu den schönsten Orten der Welt. Um sie zu entdecken gibt es keinen besseren Ausgangspunkt als das Convento di Amalfi. Das Hotel ist etwas Besonderes und ist wohltuend kein Hotel von der Stange. Die Lage des ehemaligen Klosters hoch über Amalfi ist atemberaubend. Egal ob auf der Terrasse, den Zimmern oder im Infinity-Pool: überall schaut man auf das tiefblaue Meer, die weißen Häuser von Amalfi, den kleinen Hafen und die traumhafte Küste. Das Hotel selbst verbindet Tradition (eigene Kirche, Klosterhof mit Loungemöbeln, Gewölbedecken) mit modernem italienischem Style. Viele Aufenthaltsmöglichkeiten, eine Bar mit gut gemixten Cocktails und eine tolle Deko mit ständig frischen Blumen tragen dazu bei, dass man sich wohlfühlt. Die sehr schönen Gartenanlagen laden zum Verweilen ein. Es gibt sogar Hängematten zwischen Zitronenbäumen. Wir hatten eine große, helle und sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtete Suite. Besser geht nicht. Für uns ein absolutes Highlight war die Freundlichkeit und Unterstützung der Mitarbeiter an der Rezeption. Egal ob es um eine Weinprobe, Mozzarellaverkostung oder einen Ausflug nach Paestum ging: Man gab immer alles, damit wir eine schöne Zeit hatten. Wir haben uns jeden Abend auf das Essen im Restaurant Di Cappuccini gefreut. Das, was Koch Claudio dort zauberte, war italienische Küche vom Feinsten. Auch im Restaurant war der Service ausgezeichnet. Selten so gut und freundlich bedient worden. Nicht zu vergessen die sehr guten Weinempfehlungen. Man soll ja bei einer solchen Bewertung auch immer etwas kritisches schreiben. Hier fällt uns einfach nichts ein. Wir freuen uns auf ein Wiedersehen!

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Caruso around a wedding we attended in Ravello at nearby Villa Cimbrone. Our room was beautiful! We were in a Junior Suite and were very impressed by the terrace, beautifully-framed views, and the massive bathroom with marble tub and shower. Our welcome amenities were wonderfully personalized. The design was modern and comfortable, but still had a strong sense of place with the bucolic terrace, arched ceilings and artwork. I would highly recommend this hotel for a honeymoon or anniversary stay — it was easily a room we could have spent all day in. We knew when we booked the hotel that the pool is generally considered one of the most beautiful hotel pools in the world, and it did not disappoint! The views of the sea and the town of Ravello were gorgeous, and the pool was massive and rarely had anyone using it (though plenty of folks lounging around it). The complimentary smoothies were a nice touch, and all of our pool cocktails were highly enjoyable. The surrounding gardens provide plenty of space for relaxing and taking in the 360 degree views of town. There was also a nearby outdoor gym that had excellent equipment and was a joy to use (because of...you guess it...the stunning views). We didn’t have much time to delve into the food and beverage experience on property unfortunately. We had a couple of tasty room service meals, and frequented the open air bar which had superb cocktails and bar snacks. The casual food we had at the bar was pretty forgettable (esp. compared to the excellent options at Le Sirenuse), but our lunch at the pool restaurant was amazing. Fresh prawns and a massive lobster, which was the centerpiece of a seafood pasta that was plated tableside, made for a truly memorable dining experience especially when combined with the unforgettable setting. Service was excellent across the board! We had a great check-in and tour with Rosie who also managed to make our send off particularly special. We also had efficient and friendly bellman and transportation service throughout the stay. We had some language-barrier issues at the boutique, but otherwise, I was pleasantly surprised by how much fluent English was spoken on property. The folks at the pool were really hustling as it was windy during our stay so umbrellas were constantly being set up and taken down — they did an excellent job. The housekeeping team also outdid themselves with some wonderful surprises to celebrate our anniversary during turndown. There were a lot of great activity options, including complimentary transportation down to the hotel’s private beach and boat tours. We unfortunately didn’t have much time to experience any of these offerings, though my wife did a private pizza-making class on property with a friend, and they had a terrific experience (and brought two delicious pizzas to the bar afterwards). We stayed in this beautiful hotel for 5 nights. We had one of the renovated suites: Jr Suite with Terrace ( Room 3) . What a wonderful experience! From the super bright room, staff, service, food. We’ve arranged all transportations with the concierge including day tours: 1 full day private car to Ravello and to a winery tour, And 1 full day private boat tour to Capri, Nerano, Positano and near by swimming areas. This hotel had so many pluses: Transportation to Amalfi town there and back almost all day. You can swim in their ocean and they provide floaties and noddles. The service by the pool is very quick and attentive. • Lunch at their restaurant has very healthy choices and a refreshing view under all the pergola full of local flowers and plants. • The Gym although is small it has all the necessary equipment and refreshers for a full workout. • You can hike/walk to Amalfi in 15 minutes or less. Make sure you ask about which way to take to avoid walking on the road, we saw some people doing it and there's an alternative path. • Provided steamer for our garments & Dyson hair dryer • Full turn down service each night • King size Bed was so comfortable • Concierge was supper helpful when needed options for sightseeing or shopping. • Every morning like everyone else is commenting in the reviews, we had a delicious breakfast full of pastries, fruits, yogurts, full of options. And we were serenaded by a piano player. Erika in specific was very attentive and provided about insight about the local sites, restaurants, etc. • The view from our balcony was spectacular, we could see Amalfi town, and the ocean and the several private super yachts anchor near us. The reason this is classed as a “wellness hotel” is because it comes with a free gym membership. If you’re physically unable, unfit or lazy, this is not the hotel for you. To get to this hotel was fairly difficult, there are 3 ways in, all require going up and down steep, uneven steps in various fashions. The “10 minute walk” (which is the quickest way), involves going up 60 steep steps, down 50 steps and through a tunnel along side cars, buses and vans , with no walk way, then through a walkway passage though the mountains to arrive at the closest point to amalfi town. The safest way requires you to go down 50 steps, up a long steep winding road of about 200 meters and up another 30 steps before reaching the passage for walking. The room decor is dated and resembles something that came out of a Wes Anderson film, worn down wallpapered walls with dirt and scuff marks, a shower that only half worked and floors that after a day felt like someone had danced around the room with toast in their mouth spitting crumbs. The bed was not to my comfort, was quite hard and felt more like stretched canvas over a frame than a mattress, this and thee pillows were nicely wrapped up by a throw that had been used by countless amounts of people staying previously. The hotel cleanliness was generally good, our room was made up each day and new towels were given, however the wood flooring meant that grime and dirt just stuck to your feet and I swiftly started wearing the flip flops for comfort. The service from the hotel on arrival was okay, we rang ahead and they informed us someone would help us with the heavy, large bags, however when we called, the single telephone line was being used and I decided to take on the fest of the dreaded 70 steps (bad choice). We were too early to check in, so we left our bags and came back later, when we got access to the room, we were awkwardly given a tour by reception, who left us stood outside the room whilst they got the slow small elevator up and our bags taken to the room, but it seemed more a quest for tips than service. If you choose to stay here, when tackling the stairs from the “beach”, I’d recommend you pay the few euro tip. Along this line, there seemed to be a fair few times (specifically at check out) when the elevator was broken. But this is probably my suspicious mind. The one positive I had for this hotel is the view, which I will admit is beautiful view of the coast and atrani. However, along with this view is a free alarm/clock 24 hours a day, 4 times an hour. The Atrani village clock strikes in the following times: Sunrise, sunset (16 times each) On the hour, for each hour On each quarter of the hour, for the house and the quarter Example; 7:45am= 7 dings, 3 small dings. When the doors were closed, this was not horribly audible, but noticeable and you can easily sleep, but it does get mildly frustrating and, admittedly, sometimes useful. Wir haben unlängst im Amalfi Luxury geblieben und die meisten davon waren eine sehr angenehme Erfahrung. Ja, es gibt viele Treppen, die machen, dass Ihr Gepäck eine ziemlich erschöpfende Erfahrung aufzuholen, aber das war erwartet. Das Zimmer war wirklich schön, ganz sehr freundliches Personal und ein anständiges Frühstück. Aber hier ist der Nebensitz und für ein Hotel in diesem Preisbereich ist das nicht das, das ich leicht nehmen: in der Nacht haben wir festgestellt, dass die AC nicht wirklich funktioniert. Es war in der Tat laufen und Sie konnten jede Einstellung einstellen, aber es würde das Zimmer nicht kühlen. Das führte zu einer ziemlich schrecklichen Nacht, da das Zimmer in einer Weise gelegen wurde, dass es viel Wärme am Nachmittag empfangen. Dass die Fenster offen sind, machte nicht viel, außer dass man früh am Morgen Lärm ließ. Wenn die AC fixiert wird, würde ich es 5 Sterne schätzen.

Die Lage des Hotels ist sehr gut, es ist sehr praktisch, etwa 10 Minuten vom Stadtzentrum oder dem Hafen über den Amalfi Highway zu Fuß zu erreichen. Das Zimmer war sehr schön. Wir hatten eine Suite mit Meerblick gebucht. Der Balkon liegt auf einer Klippe. Das Fenster ist das blaue Meer. Das Hotel gab willkommenen Champagner, duftende Kekse und schaute auf den blauen Himmel, die weißen Wolken und das Meer. Es war berauschend. Das Hotel war ursprünglich ein Kloster, daher ist die Aufteilung sehr schick.

Mein Mann und ich kamen hier für unseren Hochzeitstag, während wir in Amalfi geblieben waren und es war außer wunderbar. Unser Zimmer war schön und sauber mit wunderbaren Blicken und ich war besessen mit der massiven Größe der Badehandtücher! Wir hatten jeden Morgen ein wunderbares Frühstück im Freien, auf dem Strand und Meer. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, machte uns Buchungen und stellte alles andere, mit dem wir Hilfe brauchten. Die Lage ist perfekt, zu Fuß zu allem, was Sie in der Stadt wollen, dem Duomo, dem Bus, dem Fähre, dem Strand und den besten Restaurants. Der Poolbereich ist auch sehr schön, nie besetzt und wunderbaren Service dort. Wir lieben den Boutique-Aspect des Hotels, aber erhielten noch 5 Sternenservice. Wir würden dieses Hotel für jeden Besucher von Amalfi definitiv empfehlen.

It is a small hotel tucked away on a side street in Amalfi. The room was beautiful with blue and white tiled floor, windows that opened onto the street. Wi-fi was fast, and the shower felt wonderful after hiking each day. The towels were giant sized and fluffy. Breakfast was bountiful with many different selections including meats, cheeses, cereal, sweet rolls, eggs, bacon, etc. there was also a delightful terrace overlooking the sea where you could take your breakfast. Church bells rang for several minutes each evening at 6:30 pm. If they rang in the morning, they didn't wake me up.
