I found what looked like an engorged tick or bedbug crawling up my bed. The hotel is pretty and I booked it for 1 night as a luxury treat so I could get a good rest for my layover stop to another destination. My room smelt like stale smoke unfortunately, though I had asked for non-smoking. I paid extra on my booking for breakfast and had to wake up at 6am, eat breakfast at 6.30am and go to the airport at 7.20am. My room had a bathtub so I took a bath before bedtime and went to bed at midnight, I got up to go switch the lamp off at 1am and found this bug crawling up the side of my bed going towards me. I think it's either a tick or a bed bug, the body was full of blood. It had 6 or 8 legs, difficult to see but I took a video which doesn't allow me to upload. I don't have any problems with normal bugs such as spiders, but if it is a tick or bedbug it is a big problem. I was really worried there were more hiding inside the bed, I called reception for help and they looked at the bug which I caught in a glass cup. They apologised deeply and changed my room, so I had to move at 1.30am. I explained I was already tired and have to wake up early. In the new room I was unable to sleep as I kept worrying about bed bugs. I got up multiple times to check my bed. And there was a noisy couple next door talking loudly until very late so I couldn't sleep. For a luxury hotel you should not need to loose a whole night's sleep because you are worried about bedbugs or ticks biting you. Nor should be able to hear noise from other guests through the wall. I was extremely exhausted the next day and did not have any appetite. I asked if they could refund the extra I paid for breakfast because I couldn't eat it, but they said it wasn't possible. So I forced myself to try eat 1 egg and some small rice porridge but couldn't finish it. Really expensive to pay for breakfast and hardly eat, it's a shame they couldn't refund the breakfast considering I had no sleep. For a 5* hotel, I would like to have good rest and peaceful sleep. But it was not like that. The staff were very kind and helpful, but it's not so easy to travel here alone. It was not easy to book a taxi for the following morning to the airport and it took 40 minutes of assistance, the man was very kind and helpful, but the hotel should make an easier system for foreign guests to book taxi. When I first arrived in Jinan airport, I had no idea how to get to the hotel. There is no ATM inside the hotel so you cannot withdraw cash, and you cannot pay with foreign card to book a taxi. The shangri-la website did not provide any details for public transport. It simply said bus transfer was available but did not say which number bus. I would give the details here but I have forgotten the route name and bus number now as it was hectic and I was very tired, sorry. I had to waste a lot of time trying to ask for help at the airport as the staff did not speak English. Luckily someone helped me. The bus will cost 20yuan and take you into the centre where you will see the intercontinental hotel and a large shopping mall on the left side of the bus, get off at that stop, it takes 1 hour. From there it's only 5 minutes walk to shangri-la. For a big hotel they should provide easy instructions on the website to guests. The staff apologised deeply for the bug on the bed, and offered 10% reduction of the room rate. Although when I checked out no refund was given and they didn't mention anything about it, I think they just charged full price. Personally I think 10% is not enough anyway. Nobody wants to change rooms at 1.30am because of bugs crawling on the bed. I didn't get any sleep at all and felt itchy because I kept thinking about bugs and couldn't eat the breakfast. I was absolutely exhausted the following day so I was unable to do anything at my next destination and had to waste 1 day more to rest. Unfortunately not an easy experience at the shangri-la.

Ausstattung: Die neu renovierten Zimmer sind sehr gut, es riecht nicht, die Möbel und das Badezimmer sind sehr sauber. Man kann sagen, dass ich schon in so vielen Hotels übernachtet habe, Atour hat mich dieses Mal wirklich überrascht! Hotels der gleichen Kategorie können Ihnen 5🌟 geben! Das Zimmer ist sehr geräumig! Es hat riesige Fenster! Juhuu, das ist großartig! Hygiene: Sehr sauber, die Bettwäsche und Badetücher sind sehr sauber und werden häufig ausgetauscht. Ich ging tagsüber raus und kam abends mit neuen Gesichtstüchern und Wasser zurück. Umgebung: Es gibt einen kleinen Fitnessraum, eine Waschküche, einen Bürobereich, ein Restaurant und eine Terrasse. Die Waschküche ist perfekt! Service: Der Service ist großartig. Beim Einchecken waren die Jungs und Mädchen an der Rezeption sehr geduldig und hatten eine gute Einstellung. Sie forderten uns auch auf, das Zimmer im Voraus zu überprüfen und uns eine Pause zu gönnen. Wir haben mitten in der Nacht die Wäsche gewaschen und es hat lange gedauert, sie zu trocknen Verantwortungsvoll und rücksichtsvoll und half mir, meine Kleidung zu trocknen und zu packen. Es war sehr früh am nächsten Morgen, obwohl ich nicht aufgestanden bin Beim Auschecken wurde mir die Lieferung der Kleidung erklärt, es war also überhaupt kein Problem.) Sie lieferten auch sorgfältig Wasser und baten mich, auf dem Weg zum Zug eine Flasche mitzunehmen (ich fand es auch etwas kalt am Morgen, also bekam ich Wasser mit Raumtemperatur) Voller kleiner Details

Zuerst kümmerte sich Nicky um mich bei der Eincheckung und gab mir ein besonderes Geschenk und Erfahrung. Und Nicky ist wunderschön. Kimi war auch ein großes Mitarbeiter für mich während der Abreise. My wife and I recently stayed at the Hampton by Hilton in Qingdao City and we are so thrilled with our experience that we felt compelled to share. From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by the spotless cleanliness throughout the entire property. The lobby was bright and inviting, the hallways were pristine, and our room was immaculate. It’s clear that the housekeeping team takes great pride in their work, and it made our stay feel both safe and luxurious. The staff deserves a special mention. Every team member we encountered, from the front desk to the dining area, was incredibly friendly, professional, and helpful. They greeted us with genuine smiles, were always ready with a local recommendation, and went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. Their positive attitude really set the tone for our entire trip. Now, let’s talk about the breakfast – it was excellent! We’ve stayed at many hotels where the complimentary breakfast is a bit of an afterthought, but not here. There was a fantastic variety of selections to choose from. We enjoyed hot items like waffles and scrambled eggs, fresh fruits, pastries, and healthy yogurts. The coffee was always fresh and piping hot, and there was a great selection of teas and chilled juices to start our day right. It’s a real game-changer to begin a day of exploring with such a satisfying and delicious meal. What truly sealed the deal for us was the incredible value. The price was very reasonable, especially when compared to other hotels in a similar category that we've stayed at in Qingdao. You get so much more for your money here—the excellent breakfast, the modern, clean rooms, and the wonderful service make it a standout choice. The location was another huge plus for us. The hotel is conveniently located near the metro, making it incredibly easy to get around the city without a car. Furthermore, the surrounding area is vibrant and full of life! We loved being able to step outside and find great restaurants, cafes, and shops within walking distance. It felt like we were in the heart of the action. Finally, as non-smokers, we greatly appreciated that the entire hotel, including all rooms, was completely smoke-free. It made the environment so much more pleasant. In summary, our stay at the Hampton by Hilton in Qingdao was practically perfect. It offers incredible value, combining cleanliness, exceptional service, a delicious breakfast, and a prime location. 교환학생으로 산동대에 온 딸아이를 만나러 왔습니다. 학교 정문 바로 앞이라 선택하긴 했는데... 5성급이라기엔 고객응대서비스가 조금 부족합니다. 직원들의 고객응대교육이 필요한 것 같습니다. 객실은 넓고 편안했지만 화장실과 에어컨 그 외 가구나 카펫에서 호텔의 연식이 느껴졌습니다. 조식도 무언가 부족한 느낌인데 레스토랑의 중년여성 직원의 서비스는 훌륭했습니다.

Breakfast at Mövenpick Tsingtao was absolutely delicious! I especially appreciate they provided local delicacy, Chinese cabbage with shrimp. The cabbage was simply delightful, particularly when the chefs used the freshest shrimp to create the sauce. 👍 Additionally, the exceptional service provided by Ashley and Mia truly stands out and enhances the overall experience. Their professionalism and attentiveness ensure that every guest feels valued and well taken care of. Thank you for making my stay memorable!

My recent stay at the Grand Barony Qingdao Airport Hotel in a Deluxe Queen Room was a well-rounded and positive experience, particularly suited to travelers seeking convenience, comfort, and efficiency near the airport. One of the hotel’s strongest advantages is its location. Being situated close to Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport makes it an ideal choice for transit passengers or those with early departures or late arrivals. The transfer process was straightforward, and the proximity significantly reduced travel-related stress. The Deluxe Queen Room itself was spacious, modern, and thoughtfully designed. The bed was comfortable, and the room was well-maintained, with clean linens, a tidy bathroom, and adequate amenities. The layout felt functional rather than overly luxurious, but it delivered exactly what one would expect from an airport hotel in this category. Sound insulation was reasonably effective; despite the airport location, noise levels were minimal and did not disrupt rest. Service throughout the stay was professional and efficient, with a level of attentiveness that stood out in the smaller details. In particular, the duty manager, Ali, made a strong impression through his proactive hospitality. As a welcome gesture, he personally brought a selection of local Shandong and Qingdao soft drinks to my room, which was a thoughtful and culturally considerate touch. This small act added a personal dimension to the stay and reflected a genuine commitment to guest experience beyond standard service expectations. Facilities appeared comprehensive, though my stay was brief and primarily focused on rest rather than exploring all offerings. The lobby and common areas were well presented, creating a calm and organised first impression. Dining options were convenient, and while not exceptional, they were satisfactory in quality and variety for a short stay. In terms of value, the hotel performs strongly. It delivers reliability, cleanliness, and comfort without unnecessary extravagance. For travelers prioritising practicality, convenience, and a good night’s sleep before or after a flight, it is a solid choice. Overall, the Grand Barony Qingdao Airport Hotel provides a balanced blend of efficiency, comfort, and accessibility. The attentive service, highlighted by small but meaningful gestures from staff such as Ali, elevates the experience and reinforces the hotel’s reputation as a high-quality and dependable airport accommodation option.

房間雖然不太大，但是足夠用，定的是有窗的，床品非常舒適。樓下就有咖啡機，可以續上杯能量。重點是，酒店在開發區，正面對着大海。下樓走2步就是超長海岸線，如果體力好的話，走着走着就到孤獨的鯨打卡點。住宿了4個晚上，非常滿意，因為報了去蓬萊和威海還有養馬島的小團，集合點距離酒店也都挺方便。附近2公里處還有家酒店自助餐，一百多塊錢一個人，吃的也挺好。可以走路也可以打車，價格大概就6塊錢，因為自己不會騎電動車，不然更方便了。看着大海和海岸線，人心情都好不少。

The positive attitude and service performance of the staff ranging from front desk, concierge/security to breakfast restaurant and house keeping is excellent. The classic hotel personal service with a modern twist makes the stay a memorable experience. On my check-in, Ms Xiao Jiao and Ms Xiao Cong gave me and explained briefly the leaflet on the hotel’s suggested tourist attractions in Yantai. They also enthusiastically exchanged small RMB notes with me. They also gave me a piece of mooncake of my choice (and during my check-out too). The restaurant staff is attentive, replenishing food and drinks and attending to requests promptly. Due to my lack of command of Mandarin and accent, the chef cooked the wanton instead of the mackerel dumplings for me, he immediately served me the dumplings when he realised the miscommunication. The next morning, after serving me the mackerel dumplings, he, I think, recognised me, suggested I could add soup and condiments to the dumplings. I find their fleshly cooked dumplings are even better than the dumplings from the most famous dumplings restaurant in Yantai. The concierge staff on 2 days helped me book taxi using her phone app, paying in advance on my behalf as booking via internet cannot be settled in cash. The concierge/front desk lent me umbrella without question. After a delayed and tiring flight, Mr Xiao Gao brought me to my room and explained the mechanics of the switches in the room. There was a hand-written welcome note from Ms Liu, with 2 cups of white fungus/goji drink beside it. The drink together with the note and fruits in the room, not only soothed my dry throat but also lifted the mood. House keeping provided fruits, white fungus/goji drink and dried chrysanthemum/rose flowers (to prepare for drinking) and 4 bottles (500 ml) of water daily, with up to 14 bottles at the lift lobby on my floor, and guests can also request house keeping for more bottles. On my check out day, during my breakfast, they left at the door handle, a bag of goodies, fruits and bottles of water and souvenirs (4 key chains with various types of sea shells), together with a hand-written farewell/bon voyage note from Ms Liu. Well done The Center Hotel staff, you are a pride to the hotel, the hospitality industry and Yantai!
