I rarely leave negative reviews, but this was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I have had in Japan. I booked a Run of House (ROH) room for my family. The booking description stated that room sizes range from 28 to 38 square meters. Based on that description, I reasonably expected that room assignments would be allocated fairly within that range. Upon check-in, I initially asked whether it would be possible to have a room facing Huis Ten Bosch. I fully understood when I was told that a park-facing room would require an additional charge, as such rooms are often sold at a premium. However, after entering the room, I realized that I had been assigned what appeared to be the smallest and least desirable room available. At that point, I was no longer asking for a park view. I simply asked whether it would be possible to have a slightly larger room, especially since the ROH description clearly stated that room sizes range from 28 to 38 square meters. What made the experience particularly frustrating was that I had already read reviews from other guests who booked the same ROH category and received significantly better rooms. One guest mentioned being assigned a park-view room after making a request, while another guest appeared to have received one of the hotel’s best room categories despite booking ROH. When I politely asked why other guests with the same booking category seemed to receive much better room assignments while I was given the smallest room available, the front desk was unable to provide a clear explanation. Instead, I was repeatedly told that any room change would require an upgrade fee. At one point, I was even told to contact the booking platform and ask the platform to pay for the room change. This response made very little sense. I was not asking for a free upgrade. I was simply asking for transparency and consistency regarding how ROH rooms are allocated. After a lengthy discussion, the hotel eventually moved us to a slightly larger room. However, the replacement room was located on the lowest floor, at the far end of the corridor, with a partially obstructed theme park view. While I appreciated the effort, it reinforced the impression that alternative rooms were available, yet no clear explanation was ever provided regarding the original room assignment. My disappointment is not that I did not receive the best room. I fully understand that ROH bookings do not guarantee upgrades. My concern is that the hotel advertises a room size range of 28–38 square meters, creating the expectation that room assignments may reasonably vary within that range. If ROH guests are always assigned the smallest and least desirable room available, even when larger rooms remain vacant, then the hotel should simply advertise the room as 28 square meters. That would allow guests to make an informed decision before booking. For families travelling with children, room size matters. Had the listing clearly indicated that ROH guests would receive a 28-square-meter room, I would likely have selected a different room category from the beginning. The hotel itself is in a convenient location and the facilities are generally good. However, the handling of this situation left a very negative impression. Based on this experience, I would strongly recommend booking a specific room category rather than ROH, so that expectations are clear from the outset.

This hotel is located inside the Huis Ten Bosch, with easy access across the theme park via the shuttle bus, the room is spacious and with all the amenities needed. I booked this hotel via Trip.com due to their official web couldn't accept credit card issued outside of Japan (not sure if this is common for Japan hotels) overall experience with Hotel Amsterdam is great, highly recommended!

Das Hotel ist für eine Übernachtung in Ordnung. Die Zimmereinrichtung ist allerdings ziemlich retro und erinnert an die 90er Jahre. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend, und das Zimmer ist sauber. Für einen kurzen Aufenthalt ist es akzeptabel. Das Hotel liegt nur einen Steinwurf vom Eingang von Huis Ten Bosch entfernt, wo Sie Ihre Eintrittskarten erhalten. Sie können über den Hintereingang zum Hotel zurückkehren. In der Nähe des Eingangs von Huis Ten Bosch befindet sich auch ein Lawson-Supermarkt. Ich würde sagen, es sind etwa drei Minuten zu Fuß. Parkplätze stehen direkt vor dem Hotel zur Verfügung und kosten 1000 Yen pro Nacht. Parkplatzwächter weisen Ihnen den Weg. Ich würde für einen unkomplizierten Aufenthalt wiederkommen, wenn ich Huis Ten Bosch noch einmal besuchen würde.

I was quite disappointed with this booking made via Trip.com. I specifically booked a Deluxe Japanese Western style room with an outdoor hot bath, as the outdoor hot bath was a key reason for choosing this room. Upon check-in, I discovered that there was no outdoor hot bath, and I was informed that the room I had booked was not available. Initially, I was told that I had booked a room that did not include a hot tub. However, after checking my booking details, it was clear that the room I reserved was indeed supposed to come with an outdoor hot bath. To their credit, the hotel staff did try to assist by finding a last-minute alternative room that still had a bathtub that comes with a view. However, this replacement room had a much more limited view compared to the original room we had chosen, and it was not equivalent to what was advertised and booked. Additionally, the window in the room was quite flimsy and dirty, and with the temperature being rather cold, this further affected the comfort of the stay. Because we had a very limited itinerary, a significant amount of time was spent resolving this issue and arranging a replacement room. As a result, some of our planned activities had to be cancelled, which further impacted the overall experience. Overall, this was a rather disappointing experienc eespecially because this was the first time I had booked this type of room as a surprise for my girlfriend, who was really looking forward to the outdoor hot bath. Unfortunately, the key feature that made this booking special was missing, which significantly affected the stay. I hope that Trip.com can take note of this issue and ensure that rooms are marked as unavailable once fully booked, to prevent similar situations from happening to other guests.

Das Hotel liegt hervorragend, nur 5 Gehminuten von der Straßenbahnhaltestelle, dem Flughafenbusbahnhof und Chinatown entfernt. Matsumoto Kiyoshi befindet sich im Erdgeschoss, und der nächste Don Quijote ist nur 10 Gehminuten entfernt. Das Hotel bietet eine große Badewanne auf dem Dach, sodass Sie nicht im Zimmer duschen müssen. Allerdings ist die Umkleidekabine recht klein, und die Schließfächer sind an Wochenenden, wenn die Badewanne genutzt wird, sehr gefragt. Das Zimmer ist recht geräumig; zwei große Koffer passen problemlos hinein. Ich habe zwei Nächte hintereinander dort verbracht; am zweiten Tag wurden die Handtücher gewechselt und der Müll entfernt, aber das Bett nicht gemacht.

Vielen Dank für einen wundervollen Aufenthalt. Das Zimmer war sauber und komfortabel und das Personal war höflich und freundlich. Das Hotel verfügt außerdem über hervorragende Einrichtungen, sodass Sie während Ihres Aufenthalts entspannen können. Die Lage war praktisch und sehr hilfreich für Besichtigungen und den Transport. Wenn ich nochmal die Gelegenheit dazu habe, werde ich Ihren Service auf jeden Fall wieder in Anspruch nehmen.

The hotel is centrally located and is near a long shopping stretch. In the area there are a lot of good food places. The public bath is great and convenient to use, and the room is spacious enough for me to relax. Travelling from the train station to the hotel with luggage is just tedious.

A very comfortable hotel located just about 400 metres from Nagasaki Station, with a tram stop, bus stop, and a convenience store right at the doorstep. Getting around is incredibly easy, as it sits right in the heart of everything. Glover Garden, the Atomic Bomb Museum, Peace Park, and Chinatown are all just a few tram stops away. You can even walk to Mt. Inasayama in around 10 minutes, which makes visiting for the famous night view especially convenient. The room was clean and cozy. The public bath was spacious, with multiple tubs to choose from. There are also laundry and dryer machines available (three of each), though you may need to time your usage a bit. The breakfast was excellent, especially for those who enjoy Japanese-style options. It included a rotating selection of Nagasaki specialties such as champon, Goto udon, and sara udon. There were also breads, salads, and made-to-order egg dishes. However, it might feel a bit pricey if you do not prefer Japanese-style breakfasts, as they make up around 60% of the selection.

Das Hotel Indigo Nagasaki Glover Street war ein Highlight unserer Reise nach Nagasaki. Das Hotel ist schön entworfen mit einem eigenen britischen Kolonialkarakter, der perfekt in die historische Glover Garden Nachbarschaft passt treten draußen, Sie sind nur Momente von der Oura Kathedrale und einige der ikonischsten Sehenswürdigkeiten von Nagasaki. Die Zimmer sind unschön, stilvoll eingerichtet und die Badewanne waren nach einem Tag der Sehenswürdigkeit eine schöne Berührung. Frühstück im Restaurant Cathedréclat in sich gesetzt, was sich als eine umgewandelte Kapelle fühlt, war eine echte Erfahrung in sich, mit einer süßen japanischen Option, die wirklich lecker war. Das Personal verdient eine besondere Erwähnung: aufmerksam, professionell und wirklich warm. Der Service war lückenlos von der Eincheckung bis zum Auscheck. Das einzige kleine, was ich hätte Flagge und es ist wirklich klein ist, dass die Kissen auf der dünnen und weichen Seite, was vielleicht nicht jedem passen, der ein wenig mehr Unterstützung bevorzugt. Eine festere Kissenoption würde dieses Hotel absolut perfekt machen.

I recently stayed at this hotel and had a very pleasant experience. If you're planning to drive, be aware that the hotel has limited free parking spaces. I recommend contacting the hotel in advance to reserve a spot. If parking is full, the front desk staff are very helpful and can suggest nearby parking options that are just a short walk away. Check-in and check-out are both quick and convenient with the hotel's automated machines. The cleanliness of the hotel is impeccable, and I appreciated the thoughtful touches—like providing nightgowns for guests. If you need to do laundry, there’s even a coin-operated washing machine available. The room comes with a full set of kitchen appliances, which is super convenient for light cooking or prepping fruits and snacks. While the room isn't very large, it still offers enough space for a baby to move around comfortably. Overall, a clean, efficient, and cozy stay with thoughtful amenities that made a real difference.
