What I enjoyed most about Buxton was its peaceful atmosphere. It felt like a place where you could slow down, relax, and appreciate the beauty around you. I loved strolling through the well-maintained gardens, sitting outside with a refreshing drink overlooking the park, and admiring the town’s impressive Victorian architecture. Staying in the Wedgwood Suite at the Palace Hotel & Spa made the trip even more memorable. We managed to secure it at an amazing price, making it feel like a real luxury experience without the luxury price tag. While the spa is a little dated and could do with some cosmetic updates, it was still enjoyable and a lovely place to unwind. I also enjoyed the fun touches around Buxton, like the giant outdoor chess set, which added character to the town. Overall, Buxton has a unique combination of history, elegance, green spaces, and tranquillity that makes it a wonderful destination for a relaxing getaway. It left me feeling refreshed and reminded me that sometimes the simplest escapes are the most rewarding.

From the outside, the hotel makes a charming first impression with its elegant façade, ornate balconies, and a warmly lit lobby that exudes a sense of old-world charm. The check-in process is smooth, and the staff are courteous and eager to help. The room was clean and spacious, the décor is a bit dated but it adds a character to the place and I like it. The only small issue was, there’s no window only a door to the balcony which is locked and we cannot access it making the room stuffy. Also, it was difficult to relax or get a good night’s sleep due to a noise of exhaust fan in the bathroom throughout the night. The bed was comfortable and having an iron was a bonus. Will I stay again? Definitely.

Schöne Lage, (schönes Dorf) schöne Landschaften und beeindruckende Eingang. Wir waren jedoch nicht im Haupthotel. Das Zimmer war groß, aber altmodisch. Das Dach lief an den Seiten, die wir mehrmals unsere Kopfe schlagen. Das Fenster war klein, was es reichlich machte und es war sehr dunkel, kein Hauptlicht im Schlafzimmer nur Lampen. Das Bett war Königsgröße und komfortabel. Das Zimmer und das Badezimmer waren sauber. Wir haben das Restaurant einmal zum Abendessen benutzt und wir hatten 2 Frühstücken und das Essen war schön und erschwinglich. Das Frühstück war Selbstbedienung (wie unser enthalten war) mit einer guten und reichhaltigen Variante. Das Personal war freundlich und hilfsbereit, aber professionell. Wir haben den Pool am Ende nicht benutzt, da es darum ging, aus und zurück ins Haus zu gehen, da unser Zimmer nicht mit einer abgedeckten Route zum Pool verbunden war. Nichts wirklich zu beschweren, aber wir erwarteten, dass das Zimmer ein wenig luxuriöser sein würde. Ein wenig überpreis für das Zimmer. Ich hoffe, der Preis basierte auf den verfügbaren Einrichtungen.

Das Hotel konnte aufgrund eines Fehlers in ihrem System nicht im Hotel bleiben. Das Hotel war zu versuchen, zu versuchen und erhalten ist auf 3 zusätzlichen Terminen gebucht, aber nicht erfolgreich. Er hat eine Erstattung auf die Frage verweigert. Es ist nur eine Schande, dass wir uns nicht stabil halten konnten.
