We stayed 3 nights at this hotel and enjoyed our stay very much. The people at the reception were very nice and our room was clean and comfortable and had a view of the park. The hotel bar was really nice too, I had the best Irish Coffee! We didn't eat in the restaurant for dinner but we had our breakfast there every morning, they had a very nice selection of items. The hotel is in a great location in the city and Viseu is also a very nice city.

O hotel é super central, o que facilitou muito a nossa estadia. É bonito, com quartos espaçosos e bem decorados. Nota-se que foi alvo de uma renovação, mantendo elementos da estrutura original, o que lhe dá um certo charme, mas também faz perceber que se trata de um edifício adaptado. Ainda assim, a experiência foi bastante positiva.

Gemütliche Lage, einen Schritt vom historischen Zentrum entfernt. Sehr komfortabel und gut eingerichtetes Zimmer. Sehr schönes Pool, obwohl am Abend im Schatten ist. Gute Außenparkplatz. freundliches Personal. Zu verbessern: Frühstück. Der Kaffee ist in Portugal und in einem solchen Niveau sehr schlimm und unverzeihlich.

Location carina, molto immersa nel verde, ma lontano da servizi di vario genere. Il supermercato più vicino è a 15 min di auto.
Un peccato che le terme e la palestra chiudano presto. Ascensore veramente obsoleto, fa un pò paura.

Adorei a estadia. É a segunda vez que vou. Uma foi no inverno e agora no verão. Aproveitei bem mais agora pois pude utilizar a piscina exterior.

Beatiful house with nice comfortable rooms, a super nice living room for spending the evening . Good breakfast and a nice, clean pool. Big garden with grapes and olive trees, kiwi and qrapes on top of the parking lot. Enough parking space. Definitely worth a visit during your douro valley tour. Some nice restaurants to visit in the small towns nearby. Tasty wine from own production and very friendly owners

GGastnutzerWe stayed here for our wedding night, and while parts of the property are well thought out, the overall experience didn’t meet expectations for the price and rating.
Positives first: the hotel is beautiful and tastefully designed. The spa is a highlight—well kept and run by a warm, professional attendant. The saltwater pool is nicely maintained and a thoughtful touch.
However, service overall lacked consistency and polish. A number of small missteps throughout our stay accumulated into an experience that didn’t meet 5-star standards.
At the pool—during a heatwave—we couldn't get service for nearly 2 hours. No one was staffing the bar, though it was stocked and locked with a tick chain—odd, especially since there’s an honesty bar inside. I tried calling reception, bar, room service—no one picked up. It felt like I was filling in for missing staff. Eventually someone came and we could finally order drinks.
At breakfast, I had a frustrating exchange. I asked for sliced bread or a knife to slice the rolls, and the server replied defensively, saying I should slice the bread at my table and return to toast it—but I only had a butter knife…
Breakfast overall didn’t meet expectations. Ingredients were good, but offerings were limited. One morning, there were no eggs at all on the buffet. Hot items were available on request (for sustainability), but with just one staff member, service was slow and inaccurate. Waiting 15 min for coffee or wrong egg orders isn’t aligned with luxury standards. By contrast, breakfast at Solar de Vilar Seco—where we stayed just before—was luxurious and abundant, with premium cheeses, international options, and stunning variety. Chef Gilbert deserves praise.
Our room was fine by 5-star basics but felt small and underwhelming for the price and the setting (a former royal manor). Again comparing with Solar de Vilar Seco: rooms there were bigger, airier, and restored with original 18th-century details, creating a far more luxurious feel.
There were also some odd quirks. Guests have to ring a bell and explain themselves multiple times—even to re-enter from the garden or spa. I get the intent is security, but the execution felt intrusive and didn’t match the relaxed vibe expected in a place like this.
The service tone, while not rude, felt more guarded than warm. Staff rarely smiled, and basic interactions—from front desk to breakfast to housekeeping—lacked the ease and attentiveness that define luxury hospitality. Service should anticipate needs, not react to them—and here it often felt reactive and flat.
Finally, a personal note: we mentioned this was our wedding night on our booking, a detail many hotels mark with a small gesture. I’ve had handwritten notes, a treat, a spa perk, even upgrades—all of which make a guest feel seen. In this case, nothing. I mentioned it again at check-in—it was brushed off. This isn’t about freebies; it’s about feeling that the hotel values your special moment. That was completely missing.

AAnonymer BenutzerPleasant stay in this hotel. It is designed in a quite modern and stylish way coming with good amenities. Breakfast was sufficient for me (as I’m usually not a big breakfast eater). All the staffs were helpful and friendly. Only the con is that I encountered their argument scenes twice in a row, in a same day… you don’t want to see or hear loud arguments by employees first in the morning at breakfast, 7am! Please be more mindful of the guest and do not show it. I didn’t feel good about it, so I cannot give full 5 stars, otherwise I liked the stay and would love to come back.

GGrace GraceDas Hotel ist wunderschön und befindet sich in einem eigenen Weinberg. Sie können auch an einer eigenen Weintour und Weinprobe teilnehmen. Frühstück und Abendessen im Restaurant sind von hohem Standard. Das Frühstück ist im Preis inbegriffen und das Abendessen ist nicht teuer. Unsere 6-köpfige Gruppe bestellte das Menü mit Weinpaarung und wir waren fast voll. Zwei von uns lebten in einem großen Weinfass, was Spaß machte, aber ein bisschen klein war (besonders nachdem man die Zimmer anderer Leute im Kontrast gesehen hatte), und es gab einen kurzen Spaziergang, um zum Hotelgebäude zurückzukehren, also wenn Es wird nicht für Kinder oder ältere Menschen empfohlen.

GGuest UserIm Restaurant, die erste Nacht bestellten wir das Satzung Abendessensgeschmack Menü, es war durchschnittlich. Die zweite Nacht bestellten wir aus dem a la carte Menü für den Fisch und den Octopus, sie sind soooooooo gut! So empfehle ich Bestellung von einer la carte. Ich liebe auch den Service im Restaurant, der Chef wird Ur-Bestellungen nehmen und seine Kollegen helfen, zu bekommen. Orangensaft während des Frühstücks werden frisch von den Orangensaften in den Hofen gepresst, sehr lecker. Das Restaurant ist wahrscheinlich das beste in diesem Quinta.
Ich lebte in den Herstellerzimmern, die Zimmer sind durchschnittlich für den Preis.
Der Weingeschmack ist definitiv ein Ripp-off, sie haben Ihnen einige günstige Weine im letzten Jahr gegeben. Ich kann ähnliche Weinschmack zu einem ähnlichen Preis in Florenz Italien Weinregion mit leckeren Weinen ab 1800 erhalten. Ich empfehle nicht, Weinschmack in diesem Quinta zu machen.
Sie haben einige Kreise oder Pfade für Sie geschaffen, um zu fahren, die schön ist, aber die Notierungen und Karten sind nicht aktualisiert. Sie können verloren gehen, aber Sie sollten auch in der Lage sein, Ihren Weg heraus zu finden, so keine große Menge.

Localização perfeita, com vários pontos turísticos, como a Cave da Murganheira, a Ponte e a Torre de Ucanha, entre outros, o Hotel Douro Cister é uma ótima escolha para quem quer tirar um tempo para relaxar!
O atendimento é excelente, sem dúvidas que nos sentimos bem recebidos por cada funcionário do hotel!
