we travelled with family there and staff were helpful. But the insulation between rooms is Soo bad and you will regret staying there if some couple decides to shout all night.

Große Lage, Spazierweiterung zur Haupttouristenstraße mit allen Restaurants und Geschäften. Über die Straße von Coimbra Bahnhof. (Nicht Coimbra B)
Die Betten sind komfortabel & der Dusche Wasserdruck war erstaunlich, ihr Frühstück war auch groß, viele frische Früchte, geschrotet Eier, Saft & alle Arten, wenn Brot, Gewürze, Kaffee
Die jungen Damen an der Rezeption waren so nett und sorgfältig. Das Zimmer, das Bett und das Badezimmer waren alle geräumig.

Das Hotel ist sehr gut. Als wir im Hotel ankamen, wurden wir auf unser Zimmer gebracht, ohne dass wir auf den Ablauf der Check-in-Zeit warten mussten. Herzhaftes und leckeres Frühstück. Der sehr freundliche und aufmerksame Begleiter druckte uns die Transportmöglichkeiten für die Fahrt in die nächste Stadt aus.

Gut gelegenes Hotel, vernünftiges Zimmer, sauber, wir mögen nicht den Pool und den Jacuzzi, beide mit geringer Qualität und Wasser schien unrein, die Sauna ist vernünftig.
Das Hotel verlangt eine Kaution von 10€ pro Kleid, eine der gelieferten Kleidung war gebrochen und ohne Stricke für den Gurt, für ein 4-Sterne-Hotel sollte nicht passieren, wurde nach Beschwerde ausgetauscht.
Das Frühstück ist gut mit einer Vielzahl von Lebensmitteln. Ich denke, Sie könnten die lokalen Produkte weiter fördern. .

-local aprazível para descansar e no meio da natureza.
-Serviço irrepreensível, pessoas muito simpáticas.
-Pequeno almoço fabuloso.
- Boa Relação preço/qualidade no restaurante.
- Quarto:
1-Muito asseado;
2- Bom colchão ;
3- Adorei a casa de banho;
4- Decoração minimalista? mas boa para mim.
Ponto fraco:
-O quarto podia ser maior;
-podia ter um pequeno sofá.
Pena que não podia ficar mais tempo.
Normalmente quando estou hospedado num hotel só uso para dormir e aproveitar para passear. Mas este apetece ficar e usufruir os serviços do hotel.

Easy check-in, room I stayed was spacious with a small balcony. Room facility can be improved (I prefer mug rather than paper cup), but the room has a hairdryer, electric kettle, small fridge so it was comfortable stay overall.

Hotel em frente à praia, com excelente pequeno-almoço, staff super simpático e profissional, piscina, sauna, hidromassagem e ginásio. O almoço no restaurante do hotel estava top. A seleção dos vinhos é cuidada e o vinho branco seleção da Santa Vitória é bastante agradável. Excelente relação qualidade preço.

Excelente unidade hoteleira, bem localizada, com decoração muito bem pensada e conseguida. Quartos confortáveis, lençóis e capas de edredões de ótima qualidade. Casas de banho fantásticas, com iluminação adequada. Limpeza dos quartos e dos espaços comuns imaculada. Pequeno almoço com uma ampla oferta para todos os gostos. Funcionários simpáticos, prestáveis e eficientes. Muito boa relação qualidade-preço.

GGastnutzerI stayed at this hotel for two nights from August 3 to August 5, 2025. First of all, the hotel’s location is excellent—it’s near the square, making it very convenient to reach all the attractions. My room faced the river, offering a beautiful view of the Rio Mondego. This is an established hotel, and although the furniture is somewhat old, but everything is very clean, which didn’t affect my stay at all. The hotel staff are very warm and hospitable. The breakfast is a standard European-style buffet, providing enough nutrition to fuel a day of exploring. Most notably, I was initially concerned about the WiFi strength, but after recent improvements, it’s even better than what I have at home—upload and download speeds both exceed 300 Mbps, which was a pleasant surprise. To sum it up, I found my room to be great value for money, more memorable and impressive than many four or five-star hotels.

AAndyInBangkokA superb historic property under private management and ownership - actually, in the ownership of the same family for over 400 years altho’ now a member of the Small Luxury Hotels marketing system affiliated with Hilton. The property in its adjoining Gardens are a destination in themselves, along with the nearby (400m) Santa Clara monastery. They may be sufficient for some visitors, but it’s about a 15 minute walk to the centre of Coimbra and it’s main historical area.
Arthur Wellesley - aka Viscount Wellington - was a visitor during his Iberian campaign, so you’re in good company.
Staff are superb and obviously hand picked by the owner. The receptionist when I arrived (Evening of Sunday 16 February) was simply the best I’ve ever experienced, Singapore, Bangkok and Tokyo included. Genuinely fascinating to talk to about the history of the building and some of the previous guests (famous but ‘passed’ celebrities so no confidence is breached).
Best to stay in the rooms in the main building if possible, if tales of the previous occupant intrigue. Although the spa Is impressive – up to best Thai standards - and I guess the adjoining spa rooms may be equally good.
Overall, an absolute gem that far exceeded expectations.

GGastnutzerWe stayed two nights in apartment 2.2 - one bedroom with a small office room which has a desk and single bed. Location was great, being right off the main pedestrian strip in the old town area, so very atmospheric and convenient for restaurants. Check-in is at Hotel Oslo, about 4min walk away so you will have to walk with your luggage for a few minutes, including up some stairs. The apartment building also does not have a lift, so you will need to be able to carry your luggage up stairs within the building. I don't think you would be able to call an Uber or taxi to the street in front of the building as it is very narrow so bear this in mind. Some other minor points I noticed about the apartment which you may find helpful:
- It directly faces another building on a narrow street, so the apartment doesn't really get natural sunlight
- There is a washer but no dryer - it took a whole day for our clothes to dry and the rack sat in the living room
- The apartment fittings are starting to feel a bit worn down

AArchDragonI stayed in a single room at ibis Coimbra Centro and had a pleasant experience overall. I was especially happy that the hotel fulfilled my request for a king bed. The room itself is compact but well laid out, just the right size for a solo traveler.
One issue I did notice was that the room stayed quite warm, even with the temperature dial set to 15°C and the air conditioning on high. It wasn’t uncomfortable, but it’s something to be aware of.
The toilet was spotless, and I really liked the wooden floors and the modern shower area.
I opted for breakfast during my stay and was pleasantly surprised by the variety available. There were enough options to enjoy something different each morning, and I always left the table full and satisfied.

GGastnutzerThe lady...is a Lady and she was kind attentive generous and I felt completely welcomed...it was as if I was staying at a living relative. Although the room was small the bathroom was ample. The room gad a query nook area by one of the two window areas...the view of the water was calming and simple, I could hear the birds in the shady trees outside my tall romantic window setting. The whole place was spotless and fresh smelling ...the bed comfortable. All looked new. It was near to everything. If I have to want anything it is a disposable shower cap. She allowed me to take her tea-Kettle to my room for my convenience which added to my comfort. Although we did not speak the same language we understood each other. I would love to return again soon. Thanks much 😊

Comércio. Some complained about the claustrophobic nature of the room without windows but I think its fine as the only time I spent in was to sleep. The price is good and room is clean and with good location are all I asked for and the hotel fulfills all that. The people there is friendly and tried to help as they could, an added plus. Will stay there again if I come back to coimbra.

MMatías RubioloSolar Antigo is a must-visit in Coimbra for anyone seeking a top-notch experience. We stayed in a room with a jacuzzi and a stunning view of the city, which we thoroughly enjoyed. It was my wife’s birthday, and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and celebrated. They even included a small cake with a candle for the in-room breakfast—such a thoughtful touch! The welcome sparkling wine and cake were also a delightful surprise. Their exceptional attention to detail and outstanding customer service truly set them apart. Highly recommended for an unforgettable stay!

GGastnutzerWe very much enjoyed our stay at Coimbra Monumentais. The location is absolutely perfect being so close to the steps up to the University. The facilities were fine. My only suggestion for improvement is to automatically send the check in information rather than asking us to ask for it. I missed that point in the reservation. Most of our stays were with Air BnB and they automatically send the information a day or two in advance. We came to the back door (the 7A address) and had an issue with getting in. Once in, we were very well looked after. Thanks so much to Mariannna!
