Superb onsen hotel in Matsumoto, which seems to be the largest in the area. They serve kaiseki dinner, buffet breakfast and welcoming snacks with a wide variety and great taste. There is a view bath in our room (on the top floor) - soothing for tired travellers! All staff deserve a shoutout for their brilliant service, and thanks Khan (who served us dinner) for being attentive. We would love to visit again.

It was a really lovely stay but communication with staff was rather difficult. Overall a lovely hotel with great service to ski resorts but please not there there are no convenience stores or services around the property. Food however on site was amazing! Love the bus schedules to the different ski resorts!

First of all, the two staff at the check-in counter showed a very strong sense of job burnout on their faces, and the whole check-in process was not very pleasant. However, the next morning during check-out, the ladies at the counter were very professional and everything felt fine. After entering the room, I found it to be very stuffy and hot. When I turned on the air conditioning, it was only heating. Since the weather outside was quite cool, I understand that the system is centrally controlled and set to heating. I then tried opening the window, but it could only be opened a small amount. For some reason, no fresh air was coming in, and the room still felt very stuffy. Later, I went down to the counter (again, the same two male staff from check-in) to ask if the air conditioning could be switched to cooling, but my request was rejected. I then asked if it was possible to borrow a fan, and they refused again with a very impatient attitude. Overall, the stay was not a very good experience. The room itself was actually fine, but it was too stuffy. I hope this review can be helpful to others.

Ein schöner Zwischenstopp auf dem Weg weiter in die Berge oder nach Takayama. Das Onsen ist rund um die Uhr geöffnet, heiß und angenehm. Es gibt warmes Wasser in der Dusche. Die Gastgeberin ist sehr nett und zuvorkommend und hat mir sogar Postkarten geschenkt. Heute Morgen bin ich vom Summen einer Hornisse statt vom Wecker aufgewacht. Neben der Pension gibt es einen Laden. Für 1.500 Yen kann man dort Sukiyaki zum Abendessen bestellen. Mit etwas Glück isst man mit Motorradfahrern und lauscht ihren Geschichten. Ich war außerhalb der Saison dort und war daher der einzige Gast.

Ich bewerte Hotels immer nach dem was beworben wurde. Sprich, ich filtere grundsätzlich Western Style Breakfast und Wifi. Non smoking. Away from Elevator. High floor. Window. Dieses Hotel liegt super nah am Hauptbahnhof. Einmal über die Strasse und fertig. 70m. Fahrstuhl sorgt für Verwirrung. Stock 4 Rezeption. Man wird freundlich empfangen und bekommt alles erklärt. Die Zimmer sind sehr klein. Koffer aufmachen geht nicht. Im Bad ist alles was man benötigt und auf jedem Stockwerk gibt es Wasserspender. Knackpunkt, schon wieder....das Frühstück. Unter westlich versteht der im Wesentlichen Toast, Kekse,Kuchen und Cornflakes. Lauter ungesundes billiges Zeug. Margarine und Zuckersirup mit Farbe und Fruchtaroma. Wer Fisch oder generell die japanische Küche liebt, ist als Westler hier goldrichtig. Das komplette Program. Sehr vielfältig. Nur leider nicht für mich. Ich esse keinen Fisch, oder Schalentiere. Keine mm in meine Richtung für ein gekochtes Ei. Also Tag drei Frühstück gezahlt aber nichts gegessen.

Good accommodation with easy breakfast. Free bicycle and unlimited amenities. However it's hard to close the room's light. Iis a remote control system and it didn't work properly. The location's quite good 10 mins walk from the station but no bus station there plus as it's residential area it's so quiet and kind of scary after the sun set.

Das ist ein Hotel, das Ihnen ermöglicht, mehrmals zu besuchen, und zwar sowohl in der Atmosphäre als auch in der Lage. Wenn das Schlafzimmer sich ruhiger fühlt, wäre ich froh. Ist es für Einreisetouristen gemacht? Ich kann eine elegante Zeit verbringen, egal ob ich für meine Identität geeignet bin.

I’ve stayed at many ryokans throughout my travels—often making up half of each trip—but this one felt a bit different. It seemed to be run by just one person, who I assume is the owner. Everything was self-service, which might be understandable considering it was the most affordable option among the ryokans in the area. Most amenities required an extra fee, such as towels. Payment was made by dropping coins into a basket and making your own change, which wasn’t very convenient—especially since I didn’t carry much cash. One thing I appreciated was the luggage delivery service. I was able to leave my bag at the lobby before check-out and have it sent to Toyama Station (for about 4,000 JPY, cash only). What stood out was the creativity in the shared spaces. There were several common rooms designed for relaxing and spending time—perfect if you’re traveling with friends. You could play ping pong, read books, watch TV, or use the canteen, which had a microwave and dishes available. They even had coin-operated massage chairs and a small fitness room. However, I must mention two important downsides: 1. Limited nearby dining options – Many restaurants shown as open on Google Maps were actually closed. The only one that was open had extremely slow service—I waited nearly an hour for dinner. 2. Insects—large ones – Unfortunately, I encountered big insects in my room, which made it hard to sleep. (He even provided insect-catch tape for me while introduce the room) I stayed awake most of the night, worrying it might come back—especially stressful since I had to get up early the next morning to catch a bus to Ogizawa. Minds you, stairs only, need to carry your luggage down by yourself. Overall, while it offers good value for the area and has unique communal features, this ryokan may not suit travelers who prefer full service, cashless payment, or guaranteed comfort.

Ein sehr nettes kleines Hotel. Die Wirtin war sehr freundlich. Ich hatte einen Abholservice vom Bahnhof gebucht, aber niemand ging ans Telefon; ich hinterließ einfach eine Nachricht. Ich dachte schon, es würde niemand kommen, also nahm ich den Bus. Als ich im Hotel ankam, sagte die Wirtin, sie hätte jemanden geschickt, um mich abzuholen, aber niemand sei gekommen. Es tat mir wirklich leid. Am nächsten Tag nahm ich den kostenlosen Hotelshuttle zum Affenpark. Der Fahrer brachte uns direkt zum Parkeingang, und das Hotel half uns sogar, unser Gepäck ins Café gegenüber dem Bahnhof zu bringen. Sehr praktisch.

Die Zimmergröße war gut und die Betten waren sehr komfortabel. Die Aussicht im Zimmer war ein Highlight, die Aussicht auf einen schönen grünen Garten mit Bergen im Hintergrund. Es war sehr angenehm, um das Hotel herum zu gehen. Das gesamte Gebiet ist lustig und grüne, und es gibt auch einen See, der zur Atmosphäre hinzukommt. Es gibt auch ein Aktivitätsbereich, obwohl es meist für Kinder konzipiert und erfordert eine zusätzliche Gebühr. Die Fahrradvermietung ist verfügbar, aber es war überraschend teuer, wahrscheinlich die höchste, die ich in Japan gesehen habe. Die Esel war leider für zwei von drei Nächten geschlossen. Wir konnten die Esel im East Hotel nutzen, aber es war nicht so gut wie das in unserem Hotel. Ein schöner Kontakt war der Kaffee. Es gibt einen beliebten Kaffeegeschäft in der Stadt namens Mikado, und das Hotel hat ihren Tropfen Kaffee jeden Tag kostenlos angeboten. Es war hervorragend, und wenn wir mehr gefragt haben, haben sie es genießend wieder ohne zusätzliche Kosten angeboten. Es gibt auch ein FamilyMart im Hotel, das einige einzigartige regionale Produkte trägt. Das war ziemlich interessant und ein schönes Detail. Der Shuttle-Busservice war immer rechtzeitig, und die Fahrer waren nett und freundlich. Der nahe gelegene Einkaufszentrum, das Teil des Hotels ist, bietet viele beliebte Marken zu relativ guten Preisen. Es fühlt sich mehr als ein Outlet mit etwas älteren Produkten, aber noch groß für Einkaufen. Im Inneren des Hotels gibt es auch ein paar gute Restaurantoptionen. Ich habe nicht Frühstück im Hotel, also kann ich nicht kommentieren. Insgesamt war es ein guter Aufenthalt.
