We upgrade to the ”Garden Room” witch is supposed to be the best. What a joke! This is a dump. The bed was dirty, toilet seat broken and it looks like someone just had a shower, it was brown inside with dirt. Fridge in the room was not working. The air-conditioning unit looks like it came out of a war zone, it worked for 5 min then died, it is literally held together with duck tape. The room size is that of a prison cell and is purple. Upon arrival we had a tour, there is a shared kitchen with no utensils and a broken down fridge witch does not keep anything cold. There is a braai area but no braai grid or braai utensils. When we enqiured about this the receptionist said there is none and we can buy our own by the shops in town. The food they serve (no choice at all) looks like prison food and has an awful smell. There is also no vegetarian or vegan options. This is survival. The bar area is nothing like on the web site, it is the size of a single room, cramped, dark and decapitated. The whole backpackers is held together by a prayer and is situated in the hart of a rural area with nothing around but houses and nothing is in walking distance. The staff is extremely rude and unhelpful, any positive reviews was surely posted by them or there friend's. Rather burn your money or flush it down the toilet. This is really cheap and nasty. This is a horror show. Do not go there. Sic and discussed.

This is my 2nd visit, and all the rooms are being updated (they were ok before!) so very comfortable. It's not the prettiest from the road, but the perimeter does keep out Elephants - we saw one just the other side! I congratulate all the staff for the super service and am very happy to recommend.

I am a regular guest of Kwalape Safari Lodge for the past 5 years or so, I stay there normally 3-5 times a year both for work and pleasure. Always prefer them due to reasonable pricing and the chalets with balconies outside in the rich jungle atmosphere the lodge has. My last stay was the most terrible I have ever experienced (and there is always an issue, electricity, water or toilet not working). This time around, we were again woken up by their maintenance gardener at 6.28am who thought its the best time to blow leaves around the rooms and the campsite. This was the second time this happened on a separate trip. When I went to complain at reception, I was met with amusement from the receptionist on duty rather than an apology and assurance that it would be handled. On the 2nd day of stay, moved to a chalet room from the tent campsite but left early in the morning to go fishing. On return, we discovered no one had bothered to move our luggage from the tent to the new room. When approaching the receptionist, she called her colleague on the phone and mentioned me by my first name, ”Which room did you provide Bob?” right in front of me. This was a young lady probably 20yrs my junior who disrespected both my age and my guest status with this highly unprofessional statement which revealed to me that they were very used to speaking about guests (or at least me) in that way, too familiar. I quickly communicated my displeasure at her distasteful remark to which she giggled and laughed the entire time. Even when attempting to correct herself and refer to me as Mr. Hirschfeld to her colleague, the lady on the line had no clue who she meant until she had to revert to my name, Bob, again. This made it clear that I was the topic of constant chatter between the two. I then attempted to contact the manager whom I asked for the number as they are never present at the lodge. This was declined but instead receptionist said she would call her. I listened to the call and heard the manager rudely ask what does he want, to which the receptionist replied he wants to talk to you about the leaf blower incident from this morning. At no stage did I communicate this as the reason to the receptionist and I again, corrected her. The actual reason was to communicate my displeasure at being referred to by my first name. The response to the receptionist by the manager was that she would not talk to me then, which was Friday evening, but would rather call me back on Sunday. SUNDAY! After accepting a long list of abnormalities at Kwalape, this was the last and final straw to get this kind of treatment as a regular guest. Mind you I never eat at their restaurant which has the worst food in Kasane and the strangest meal combos I have ever seen. For years I have avoided their food and let them off this as I eat elsewhere for all my meals. If you want terrible food, poor customer service, absent management and to be woken up daily at 6am by leaf blowers and loud staff, THIS is

Great place, no doubt. Guesthouse is situated few minutes walk from the centre of Kasane, from Spar and safari agencies but in the middle of the residential area. There is a pool in the hotel, rooms are clean, equipped with air conditions and the fridge, beds are comfortable. Free wi-fi works good. In my opinion the best adventage is its Staff/Owners. So helpful and friendly, always smiling. No breakfast in the guesthouse but you can go for a short walk to the restaurants.

Die Lodge hat eine schöne Lage am Chobe River. Die Zimmer sind im charmanten afrikanischen Stil eingerichtet. Gutes Frühstücksbuffet und Abendbuffet mit großer Auswahl an Speisen. Thebe River Safaris organised all of our activities whilst my Husband and I stayed at Jackalberry Chobe [Sister Co.] and Neighbours, along the Chobe River, Kasane, Botswana. An outstanding duo that made our Honeymoon such a memorable experience. Our activities included 3 Game Drives, a Sunset Cruise and an early morning Sunrise Cruise on the Chobe river. Our Guide Shimisu introduced himself when he collected us from Jackalberry for our first Game Drive and informed us that he would be our Guide for the duration of our stay … with a cool box packed with ice and drinks for our first Safaris loaded onto our open sided 4x4 safari vehicle … off we drove to the Chobe National Park. Shimisu was very knowledgeable and was able to provide, at times, a humorous commentary on the animals we encountered. We were extremely lucky to see 4 of the BIG 5; Lion, Buffalo, Elephant and Leopard. Unfortunately, there are no longer Rhino in the Chobe National Park as they’ve been moved to private sanctuaries for their safety and protection. So much other game was seen during our safaris from Hippo to various species of Antelope, Zebra, Giraffe and Crocodile and all of our game drives were different. This was down to Shimisu’s experience, knowledge of the area and tracks he followed. We couldn’t have chosen a better Company for our African adventure. During our stay at Jackalberry, we also visited the Thebe Safari Lodge, Campsite, Bar and Restaurant where we experienced their first-class hospitality and infamous pizza’s. Whilst we did not stay at the lodge, it looked very comfortable, cozy, clean and well equipped and as this lodge is owned and operated by the same Company that owns Jackalberry, I have no doubt that the level of service would exceed any guests expectations. I was scared at first because of the bad reviews, but our experience was completely different. The room was nice, clean and quite big, comfortable indeed. Everyone is nice and willing to help, the whole place is quite nice and well maintained. The only flaw is the limited, and fixed, restaurant menu, but the cook is available to do some customizations to your dish. I can say we had a nice stay for a affordable price. Recommended.

Internet service and coverage is great, very courteous staff and the food varieties was great. I ate crocodile one of the days. The water from the tap though clean was salty

Unser Zimmer war zwar einfach, aber Sauber und Modern. Toll ist auch der tolle, große Pool. Essen im Restaurant (auch tolle vegetarische Optionen) hat uns gut geschmeckt. Frühstück mit guter auswahl. Kleine Kritikpunkte: die Zimmer sind recht hellhörig. Außerdem fanden wir es etwas störend, dass man während dem Abendessen noch Menschen mit wenig appetitlichem äußerem im Pool beim baden zu sehen mussten (mit den Bierflaschen im Wasser)
